At the moment this is kind of a "meh" weapon that you'll use as a last resort- the proc is actually very good but with only stamina, and no basic threat mechanics (IE: Hit or expertise) you're only going to find yourself using this if you're set otherwise, and from what I've seen most people use one type of tanking weapon, or another, but seldom one that doesn't directly help tank beyond a strength proc that also lets you take more healing.

I'd wait and see what the people in cutting edge content have to say about it though- it'll probably fall into the same class of weapons that others like Quel'Serrar and the armor weapon that drops off Anub'arak in ToC enjoy where it's what you use when you don't need help in avoidance (if you're raiding ICC chances are you don't) and don't need more hit or expertise.

I'm not sure we're reading the same thing, but I could swear I'm seeing a proc of ONE HUNDRED STRENGTH on this monster. Biggest threat bomb I've ever seen on a weapon! On the normal mode version alone, with 100 strength and 226.7 damage per second, that's 34 more strength and 10.1 dps more than the previous best in slot weapon.

If you want threat, get this weapon. If you want hit and expertise, find it elsewhere. The only two weapons currently offering these stats prove to be nothing more than a desperate gimp to your strength.

The proc for the item, The Last Word, has been greatly increased to allow for more continuous uptime.

Any idea if Dual Wielding this will create 2 buffs for a total of 200 strength and +600 healing received or will it create a single buff either hand can refresh? I'd assume the former?

Interestingly, the proc seems to refresh every 2-3 seconds with a 10 second duration on your personal melee swings. The buff also stays active if you switch to a different weapon. So if you were to use the weapon purely for the proc, you could weapon switch to another weapon for the avoidance stats, and when the proc drops off you switch back to Last Word to gain the proc again.

I personally haven't found a trouble-free way of weapon swapping though and from what I understand the API for that rogue poison weapon switching addon got removed, so the only way of doing this would be to use macros.

Also - The proc has an animation which gets really annoying after a while, due to seeing it every 2 seconds whilst in combat. The animation looks kind of like a Paladin blessing.

what i want to know, if you DW this as a dk (norm and heroic are different procs, so maybe same diff vs different diff's act differently) does the proc stack? SIlly thought i know, but i'm curious nonetheless. 208 stamina and 200 str and 600 healing bonus... (or more if you're doing norm-H or H-H).

i wouldnt think that it would stack, but things in bc/wrath (such as berserker, mongoose, etc) have been stacking more and more.

No idea how long it'll take for someone to get 2 (as theres no reason to give a 2nd to someone without stacking knowledge unless no one in the raid wants one).

Anyone test this out with warriors? I currently have Ardent Guard, the 1.5 speed weapon from tocr. The slow speed and amazing strength may be ideal for devastate, but the trade off of the effective health and the fast speed of ardent guard is making me ponder. Heroic strike is probably my second or third largest damage dealing ability, and I wonder how our threat generation will change switching to this wep.

As an example: considering a Holy Paladin healing, you will receive 300 healing per Flash of Light and roughly 500 healing per Holy Light, based on healing coefficients of 100% of FoL and 166% for HL. The good thing is that it affects all healers sending you heals. It's just like if all healers healing you had a 300 Spell Power trinket that works only on you. Pretty decent. Too bad the weapon is lacking some tank stats, even a little would have made it look better =o

First time I saw this weapon, I thought "damn no tanking stats".
But after getting it two weeks ago, tested it and the procc is a 100% uptime if you are at least auto-swinging at something.
After some considerations how the procc works this weapon and its procc is anything but bad. The procc increases healing received as if the healer has 300 more spellpower. That means all healing spells from all healers benefit from that procc based on there spellpower coefficient.
This works great especially on earth shield or prayer of mending, because these spells have very high spellpower coefficients (>300% of spellpower) and heal reactive when you just received damage. You only need the buff active on you before Earth Shield and PoM are cast on you, for these spells to receive the additional spellpower.
So you can consider this procc as an indirect EH-Increase in a raid setting, and combined with blood draining enchant for even more indirect EH.

This weapon causes my Judgement of Light to heal for 1000... swinging @ 1.8 secs thats bout 555 healing per second, just from judging a target. Awesome in 5 mans...
And consider 4 healers spamming you in ICC @ say.... 3000 HPS per healer, let's say the mace improving it by 300 HPS per healer
Multiply by 4 and you get an extra 1200 HPS + 555 from JOL = 1755 HPS, thats almost half a healer extra!

Pretty awesome mace if you DARE to loot it

No tanking stat? What about the 104 Stamina?

The #1 cause of tank death in ICC seemed to be the tickle down death where the tanks are not getting topped off enough rather than the super big hit that'll kill tank outright. This weapon helps.

Tested, proc is nearly 100%. I personally never had the buff off me, but cant say the proc is 100% on hit.

Whoever says this is a bad tanking weapon should look it in a different way.

it is actually +104stam +100strength +300 healing effect ALL THE TIME!

I had lifeward enchant on it, feeling kinda imba.

If you can cap expertise and defense without mainhand weapon, then I would strongly recommend this weapon for tanking.

I had facelifter, but still I prefer this weapon. Everything about it is just cool.

When all your raid says its $%^&, you should definitely take it for ms os tanking and you're gonna love it
