I WAS ! thinking about gearing my DK with tons of ArP with using what is available right now and being a JC (so using 3 +27 gems) But getting to 50% or 770 ArP (Rating) is quite a feat..in a few places Like choosing Argent Skeleton Crusher is the only option, along with gemming all +20 gems also. If i did that then I'd have 829 ArP Rating which would be ruffly 53-54% seeing as 77ArP is 5%. Now Would love to test this much ArP on some people in PvP but with the lack of Res. youd be squishy also, if you managed this awesome feat of gear before the Arenas got too full into the season early on I could see you having quite a leg up. But once you start seeing high amounts of Res. your ArP effectly goes down with pvp, (from what I've seen in the 70s bracket)

So is it nice, ya but realistically you dont want to stack this stuff, just takes way to much and youd be losing out on alot, for example 3 +41 stamina gems , and +str gems (for my DK, Warrior, etc )

For retribution paladins (and probably other plate melee folks), these look like the best pre-raid legs if you're hit-capped via other slots (per MaxDPS). If you aren't, the best option would likely then be Staggering Legplates.

Hmmm.. I'm going to have to add a thought here. My opinion is from a Ret POV (been Ret for over 3 years), but it could work for the other plate DPS too, of course.

First, if you're gemming for the bonus on the Staggering Legplates (suggested), the difference between the strength AND stam on these pants is very small compared to the (gemmed) Staggering Legplates. Tried it myself. So that's a plus for these pants already.

Second, if you're already hit capped (not hard at all by the way) then you'll be wasting points on a TON of hit you don't need. As I am I have +330 hit without even trying lol! However, like other posters have said, it is good to have that much hit on a single item for when your gear upgrades and such.

That said, I am aiming for these atm. I have the Staggering Legplates and I am MORE than hit capped, heh. So, in essence, you can see these pants as the twin brother of Staggering Legplates. They just have ArP instead of +hit. And, if you are indeed hit capped (like me), then these should be a DPS boost of sorts and essentially be better. They have pretty much the same stats as gemmed Staggering Legplates too.

Remember. Crusader Strike, Divine Storm and auto-attack benefit from ArP.

the staggering legplates are so much better with ret because you gem with the 2 +16 gem str gems to get the 32 ap from it it out dps these. AmrP is low on the scale of stats for pallies. If your hit capped then look for other itemzation. Still Decent for rep reward.

These are great for blood DKs. If you are over hit cap the armor pen ups your dps since most of your attacks are physical (heart strike death strike).

As a fresh Blood Death Knight raiding in Ulduar, I decided to take this over my T7 legs..

That is because armor penetration is way better than haste or crit rating, and this beauty gives a lot of armor penetration.

If someone can prove me wrong I'd be glad but I think unless you have something better than tier 7 that gives ARP, this one will be better for the slot.

ArP is pretty big for DPS Warriors, more as Arms than Fury. If you're starting off and Staggering Legplates aren't dropping, I would consider these.
