It reminds me of how peasants just stand around once they've finished a task, and have to be told to go do something else. I don't really know what exactly the flavor text is intended to represent but I'm pretty sure the coin belonged to a peasant of the type from previous Warcraft games, and not Linken, even if just because the Footman's coin comes from a Footman unit, and the names of the coins are similarly worded.

Well I was thinking that a person who forget's what he did or who he was probably is forgotten himself.
So that's why the person who trew it in was a Forgotten Peasant.

Considering the fact that the only skill the can do is 'Bonk', I have no problems understanding WHY they keep forgetting everything.

Anyways, by the time you read this you probably forgotten about this, since it truly is a Forgotten Tale and no matter how often you question them about the coin, the probably have forgotten it.

But the truth is different!
The true story brings us to a quest called 'of Forgotten Memories'
This story tells us about a boy called 'Taelan' who lost his memories from the past, where he as peasant boy gives you a chain of Quests in the Old Hilsbrad Foothills to regain what he lost on memories.

This boy grew up to be no one less than Highlord Taelan Fordring.
According to Warcraft's storyline a son of Highlord Tirion Fordring.

He eventually recognized the corruption that had befallen the Scarlet Crusade and defected, but Taelen was killed by Grand Inquisitor Isillien for this betrayal while fleeing Hearthglen. However, Tirion, overcome with loss and outrage, avenged the death of his son by killing Isillien, and resolved to reform the Silver Hand as a force of good in the world once again.
