For a feral tank who just dinged 80, these are not even a bad choice for tanking. Sure, no avoidance whatsoever but gemmed with two https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=40008 you're standing at whopping 177 stamina which hugely overshadows the other item's stamina you could have at this point.

Natural (non-raiding) upgrade for these would be https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=41828

I complety agree :D I gained 2100 HP from these if I did the math rigth socked the way you suggested and 22 stam enchant. Feral druids (no matter gear) should really just go get these instant. There rocket kicking ash :)

Best in slot with 68 stam over the next highest. Stack this, and all of the polar stuff, with stam gems and give yourself room to gem and enchant other things the way you like.

These polar items aren't just viable for tanks. Being that they are loaded with gem slots they can be used by any class/spec with leather armor proficiency (situationally, fights like Sapph, and Sarth +2). I play a balance druid and use these on Sapph just to help our healers out a little bit. Just gem the sockets appropriate to your needs. i.e:

3 Red Gems = Runed Scarlet Ruby
Yellow slots could be used for Rigid Autumn's Glow
Blue you could gem spirit, more stam whatever.

If you are not worried about the stam socket bonus' then for a caster dps you would probably just want to load it up with Runed Scarlet Ruby as long as you are remaining hit capped.

If you gem/enchant correctly you will not see a "huge" decrease in your stats. When I equip these items (Boots, Cord, and Chest) I lose about 200sp, 3% crit, and about 2% haste.

i socket all my sockets in the polar set whit 8x24+ stam. total stam from the set whit thoose sockets is 619 stam which is around 7k hp pot side dire bearform. and then i socket the other gbear parts for avoidance.

Also note that this is by far the most easily obtained purple iLevel 213 set of leather boots, especially for those running 10-man raids.

The first boss in Ulduar, Flame Levaathan, is a vehicle fight where your vehicle's strength is entirely based upon your items' iLevels, so this is a great item to take into that fight until you can get higher iLevel gear in Ulduar.

also if you are interested in purely stacking as much stamina as possible these are cheaply made, along with 2 Solid Majestic Zircon and the 22 stamina boot enchant gives you a massive 211 stamina.
