if someone has enough cooking awards to spare five to get this, then they probably have enough Northrend Spices to make this dish several times over. Even if they don't have a lot of spices, they will just by them 10 at a time for an extra award or two.

As for the fish, many, MANY people level up their cooking by fishing.

It also looks to me as if this will be used for raiding while the other one will be used for 5-mans.

All the more reason park any alt capable of doing the daily cooking quests in Dalaran. Every morning b/f work I do the quests on my 80 DK main and old 70 hunter and lock. Since you can buy 10 northern spices with 1 Cooking Award, after 1 week had almost 300 northern spices from doing this. Each daily gives 1 Cooking Award, with a chance proc of another reward in the bag you get. Do that on 3 toons and you get alot of awards fast. Buy the recipes on your main, and the spices on your alts. Takes about 20m/day.

If each member of the raid gives equal Northern Spices to make them, it will be cheaper to create 40 Fish Feasts than a stack (20) of single food for every person. This is the same for the fish required.

The biggest problem with this recipe as I see it is the amount om northern spices you'll have to spend on gigantic/small feast to get to 450. Getting the last points up to 425 on green recipes is hard enough and these feasts go green at 437 and don't provide any actual benefits other than turning small or big.

They are getting changed next patch to stay yellow until 450 skill. Save your mats until then.

And if you are an avid cook, you probably almost have all the recipes off the vendor anyway. I'm only three shy myself. Once you get this recipe and Worg Tartare, you will have no reason to use Cooking Awards except on Northern Spices. At 10 Spices a day, you should never run out.

If you use more than 10 Northern Spices in a given day, you either wipe too much or eat too much buff food.

Spices are easy to get. 10-30 pr day pr character. Non-soulbound. I can easily get 40-60 pr day!

The "hard" bits are the actual fish.

All three types of fishes can be fished up in the waters in Wintergrasp, if you wanna avoid having to fly all over Northrend for different catches. I'm sitting in there with my pvp gear on just in case. :) Plus, it makes fishing a little more exciting knowing someone might stab you.

No, you're thinking of Fisherman's Feast. You need to pay Dalaran Cooking Awards to learn this.

Or your other raid members don't contribute enough spices. Doing ten mans, you'd have to wipe about a hundred times per day to run out of spices from eating fish feasts. Even if only a few people in the raid/guild actually have cooking, you need to do an awful lot of dying to run out, and if you do then you should be able to get some spares from the AH.

Still true in 3.2.2. Doing the Terrorfish daily is a great time to stock up on Fish Feast supplies! :D I was fishing over by the Broken Temple, and the three fish for the Fish Feast were the only non-quest fish that I was catching. Very convenient.

Wintergrasp lakes are a pretty good source for the "random" fish needed for this recipe.

I disagree. This is the first thing I bought with my Cooking Awards, as I found it the most useful for raiding. So they weren't really "spare" awards...
