This IS roughly equivalent to Primal Mooncloth bags now. Just look at Moonshroud and Ebonweave cloth. Anyway, this perfectly follows the pattern from the previous expansion:

Pre-BC: 16-slot uncommon bags (Mooncloth), 18-slot rare bags (Bottomless Bag)

BC: 18-slot uncommon (Imbued Netherweave), 20-slot rare (Primal Mooncloth)

WotLK: 20-slot uncommon (Frostweave), 22-slot rare (Glacial)

i hope they allow tailors to make epic 24 slot bags. and maybe a bind on pickup bag (25/26 slots?), so that people will be encouraged to pick up tailoring!

Pretty much. It's just that a much lower percentage of the playerbase had 18-slotters in vanilla compared to the number of people with 20-slotters now. So while in BC most went from 16s to 18s to 20s in LK they're just going from 20s to 22s.

Personally, I think I'll be buying Haris Pilton's "Gigantique" Bags early on in Northrend, as opposed to making these. I have a tailor alt, but I can't see myself waiting 16 days per bag due to cooldowns. And I'm sure any tailors who do make these right away to probably use the bags themselves.

If the rate at which you get gold in Northrend is as high as I've heard, 1200g for the "Gigantique" Bags won't be a big deal at all. Besides, there's no 5000g riding skill to be bought this time around.

Actually you'd only have to wait 8 days for one bag..

You can craft 4 cloths in 4 days, (which comes down to the same frequency as Transmuting)

2 for your specialisation
1 of each other cloth

Those you can't use (e.g in this case Spellweave) can be traded with other tailors into something you CAN use. Quite alot of that happened during the first couple of months after TBC was released.

Also the leveling of tailoring isn't that simple anymore..
You need around 8000 cloth and around 800 infinite dust to even get near the level you need to craft these. By the time you've gathered that amount of mats, I think you'll already have some of the cloths needed to craft your first couple of bags.

Tailors really got the short end of the stick in wotlk. They got a carpet that requires you to have tailoring to use, and embroidery to cloaks. That's it. It's nice that I could make myself a 32 slot bag for warlocking purposes, but otherwise: the last sets are barely worth making, seeing they're equivalent to heroic gear and a lot harder to make. This bag is an exalted grind and is more expensive to make then piltons on my server. Really, only the 32 slot bags are market-worthy. Even they will go down as the cool-down cloth does. I really hope blizz adds to the profession in upcoming patches, otherwise I may ditch the profession for something more worth while.

the price may change depending of your realm.

beside you can farm the mats and "get" some money to pay the tips:

120 frostweave cloth - You can farm from any humanoid in Northerend or buy on AH.

16 Infinite Dust - If the tailoring that you ask to do the cloths is enchanter, you can get some greens when farming the cloth and ask him to disenchant it (if you farm the cloth in maps higher than level 76 the greens may give you around 3-5 Infinite Dust per disenchant) or you can buy on AH.

4 Eternal Shadow (40 Crystallized Shadow) - You can farm it in Dragonblight(in the north inside a cave or in Wintergrasp when your faction has it) Average time per eternal is 40minutes(cave) 30minutes(wintergrasp).

4 Eternal Life (40 Crystallized Life) - You can farm it in many spots, but I advice Wintergrasp when your faction own it, I don't know the average time per eternal I never farm eternal life =P.

1 Eternium Thread - The Tailoring Supplier sells it (3g, or 2g if exalted with any major city)

On my server the average tip for speced tailoring(mooncloth/shadowcloth) is 150g (cause it's 2 by 1) you'll spend around 600g on tips(if specced the tailors) more the tip for the bag and mats if you get the mats by AH, depending of the realm it may coasts even more than Haris Pilton's bag (a tip for this bag shouldn't be cheap) if you buy all the mats on AH.

It may be very ennoying look for specced tailors but it's the cheapest/faster way to get the cloths cause you'll get 2 cloths by the price of 1.
PS: If you look for 8 Eternal Shadow and 8 Eternal Life to create cloths with any Tailor that can create Ebonweave and Moonshroud, you may pay around 100g per tip, but it's even more faster than before, but much more expensive.

The pattern requires 445 Tailoring and Exalted with "The sons of Hodir".(take like 1month get exalted with them doing the dailies everyday since neutral).

People expect handouts when it comes to these bags. Apparently the average price for one of these on my server (US-Stormscale) is 400g. But Moonshroud sells for 140g apiece and Ebonweave is 190g apiece. Not to mention you have to have 445 Tailoring and Exalted with Sons of Hodir to even make this bag. If the Gigantique bag sells for 1200g from Haris Pilton and I charge 800g for my Glacial Bag, I'd say I'm saving you quite a bit of money.

I was using 16 slotters on my dk and now the improvement is massive, it's like having another bag slot and even more (actually is 24 more slots which is incredible)

I'll spend less time empting my bags when I do baron runs :D

Sells for about 550g-650g on my server, Thunderhorn Alliance.

However, I value these a little higher for a different reason for leveling Tailors. They become available to make at 445, and stay orange all the way to 450, making them the cheapest and safest option to level to 450.

In patch 3.3.3 the cooldown on all of the specialty cloth is being removed. However, Glacial Bag now will have a 7 day cooldown.

I'm personally trading all of my spellweave for ebon and moon to make bags with before the change happens, since bags will probably stay the same in price while cloth will be worth a fraction of the price it is now.

In the latest Patch 3.3.3 notes, this is the following changes that will accure that can affect in crafting this bag.

Ebonweave, Moonshroud and Spellweave no longer have a transmutation cooldown.
Glacial Bag now has a 7 days cooldown.
