I had a question. For the warlock T7 gear you get a lot of Red/Yellow slots, but no blue. say those pieces are your only gear with sockets on them, nothing else has them *which is hard to do in a raid environment.* Would you be able to use the belt socketing item and pop a blue gem into it in order to be able to use this gem?

I know if you have full T7 then you're other gear is bound to have a high chance of having at least one other socket on it that will grant you the use of a blue gem, but could you use the belt socketing item just in case?

If you're gear has only red and yellow sockets and you want to use this meta that requires 1 blue socket then use a "purple" gem. It will grant you your piece set bonus and will also grant this meta its 1 blue requirement. Actually one purple gem will satisfy 1 of the 2 red gem requirements and the blue requirement as well. My suggestion for warlocks needing or wanting to use a gem to match a blue requirement would be any one of the following gems:

Those that want extra Spirit(thus giving extra +spellpower):

*note that with 3/3 Demonic Aegis a Purified Dreadstone grats 16.68 Spellpower.

I always use dmg and spirit gems to activate the meta on my lock. A prismatic socket from an eternal belt buckle is just a colorless socket and thus, would work fine. Activating a meta has nothing to do with the color of the socket, only the color of the gem placed within it. Remember, the color of a socket is just a guide, you don't always have to gem for socket bonuses (i.e. you don't have to match gems with the color of the socket you are placing them in if the bonus is useless). Most of the time you will benefit more from ignoring socket bonuses anyway.

Also, because threat isn't really an issue at this point in wotlk https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=41285 is generally a better choice.

I can agree with the top portion of your comment, although sometimes I find an blue socket that can be gemmed for both the bonus and meta gem activation. Otherwise, an Eternal belt buckle works well to sort out the color requirements.

Concerning your second comment, I am a mixed 10-man and 25m (Naxx) geared affliction lock and on trash, several Naxxramas bosses, Archavon, and Malygos, I find myself pulling aggro unless I stand around and look pretty. Even talented to reduce Affliction threat, with much better geared tanks in the group, threat is pretty easy to pull as a good warlock.
