Technically speaking, crushing blows are not being removed. In the game currently a mob only needs to be 3 levels or higher to deliver a crushing blow. In wotlk a mob will need to be 4 levels or higher. Since boss mobs are still going to be marked at 3 levels from the level cap they're effectively gone but still.

A prot paly gets some very nice bonuses from it:
162 stm -> 188 stm from Sacred duty Combat Expertise.
188 stm -> 56 spellpower from Touched by the Light
61 str -> 70 str with Divine Strenght.

Seems like a great way for an tank who just hit 80 and is a BS too be able to tank heroics and start the first raids. I felt like in BC, it was very very hard for tanks (namely warriors) to make the transition to heroic/raid tanking from the level 80 joke instances. I think this is an attempt to not only increase the amount of people tanking, but to try to make it easier for all tanks to help their respective parties (usually, if a tank didn't have badge loot/raid items, the tank was the one holding the group back while the dps had to keep our eyes glued to omen all day).

No one has mentioned that its NOT BoP so a Tank that isn't BS but is a Miner (maybe an Engineer) can get the mats together and get a Friendly BS to Craft them.

Yeah, these boots proof that Blizz is finaly making decent tanking starting gear also for Paladin without insane instance brawl (like running countless of lvl 70 instances just to get D3 set pieces... I really hated that)

I mean, it is cool for all non-BS tanks. But where is the advantage of having BS? is there any good tanking item that gives advantage? If not, I would rather level up JC for good BoP trinket/necklace.

Compare This helm to the Arcane-Shielded Helm from heroic The Nexus.

Assuming we socket the Arcane Helm with an Austere Earthsiege Diamond and a Solid Sky Sapphire, we're now comparing:

52 Dodge
2% Increased Armor Value from items.

versus

13 Sta
61 Armor
2 Defense Rating

In other words the Titansteel Helm should only be your choice in tanking helm if you absolutely do not want to grind the Arcane Helm in Heroic The Nexus, you have the mats for this helm laying around and going to waste or you absolutely *hate* buying gems and getting them cut.

Personally, as a blacksmith, i'll spend my titansteel elsewhere.

It has a very nice but not overstated draconic look. Aside from the obviously nice stats, this helm provides a nice incentive to turn on your helm graphic.

This helm is really of dubious quality (at the moment). There are two blue ilvl 200 helmets (Arcane-Shielded Helm and Ground Tremor Helm) that are comparable or perhaps better. I strongly suggest there is a missing meta socket here. Even a normal instance drop is comparable.

Apart From the obvious stam Boost the Tempered Saronite Helm has 83 Def compared to 46 on this is it worth loosing that much def rating for the extra stam? ok if ur over the def cap then i would go for this but its expensive to make for what it is needs more Def rating on it to make it viable in my opinion

Comparing this with the *other* pre-raid helm, the Arcane-Shielded Helm (a blue from Nexus), you got this matchup. If you add the sockets to the TTH, then it will still have 2 less defense on the bonus, but the meta slot doesn't favor the ASH anymore. So then the difference becomes:

69 stam, 61 armor, 8 defense on the TTH vs. 52 dodge on the ASH. The TTH finally offers more bang for it's buck, and it's effective health instead of avoidance. Also makes it *slightly* easier to stay defensive capped.

easy to obtain? I've been running H Pinn everyday for a month for that sword and it still hasn't dropped. quest items, crafted items those are "easy to obtain" not drops.

I wouldn't even compare this to T7, as they have different niches. The tempered piece will be your pure +stam piece (think Patchwerk) while the T7 will be your threat piece (with +hit and +bv). Get them both and use them where they can best be applied.

my only question about this helm is will the people that have already gotten one crafted need to get a new one crafted for the new sockets that are being added? or will it magically be changed? if not I will finally see a big boost in sales for my Blacksmithing:)

I can do maths, and by my calculation 46 def rating, while lower than this, PLUS the 8 from the socket bonus, and mopped up with a BLUE gem spot rather than a red; the blue gems creating more def rating/stam. With the meta, (and a nice one of these) I think the fact that it gives you ALOT more armor/stam/strength and it gives you Batman wings on top of your head is simply awesome. Personally, I'm going for this to replace my Arcane-Shielded Helm.

the mats seems to only cost like 100g so u can earn lots of money if u buy the mats and then get someone who have BS pro. and give him 300g fee, quick and cheapsince the ones u can buy on ah usually go rom 850g-1200g, atleast on my server.

As a tankadin, who just hit 30k hp, I'm finding it very hard to replace this helm even with the stuff available in Ulduar 10. This thing just has SO MUCH pure stamina on it, and nobody really looks at anything else. It really is hard to justify losing 600+ hp to swap to an 'upgraded' helm.

A peculiar discovery can be made if you compare the end-stamina of this with the T9.25 head. It is considerably higher.

Of course, the rest of its stats are atrocious. For many setups it may also provide - indirectly - lower health if defense isn't capped with it.

It may be an inside joke at Blizzard. "They love stamina so much, lets give them the most on a crappy helm they will be forced not to use later".
