Maybe not so much for plate wearers, but I have seen a lot of PVP'ers stack stamina gems in every gem-slot. Personally, as a warrior I haven't, maybe Blizzard wants those of us who don't, to do it?
I do find it a bit odd that items use the same socket bonuses at level 80 as they did in level 70 though.

i kinda like the blue socket on this. as a warrior i put in a 16ap 12 stam gem in it. its nice since blue sockets on plate are quite rare, and this helped fulfill the conditions that the 21 crit 3% crit bonus meta gem needs

There are a boat load of attacks that depend on your AP alone now, so taking the extra color and stats can be useful sometimes. Besides, dont forget pali and deathknight get these too.

Is this removed from the game? I can not seem to find it from the vendor who sells it.
