It was a bit awkward for me, a Shadow Priest, when this dropped alongside my T7 chest token.
The main difference in these two items is that the Gown has more Haste and Spellpower, whereas the Heroes' Raiments of Faith is bigger on Spirit, Sockets, and the multi-set bonus. In general I would recommend this, the Gown, over the T7 piece for these reasons:
1) the extra Spirit, while nice, does much less for your damage than the 1.8% haste
2) the 4-set bonus for T7 is pretty garbage for us, and the other set pieces are much easier to get.
3) for the cash-strapped raider, the fact that these items are comparable BUT this one doesn't need gems means that you're saving a good bit of money.
4) Shadowpriest.com says so!
