In beta build 8905, every time I milled for dusky pigment I got either two or three (not 3-4). So one stack of herbs will get you 8-12 dusky pigment.

Also, the uncommon pigment you get in addition to dusky pigment was changed in 8905. Instead of getting verdant pigment, you now get Poisonous Ivy Berries. After milling dusky herbs 8 times, I got 4xPoisonous Ivy Berries. So it looks like the same 40-50% rate as the previous uncommon pigments.

The bonus rare from milling these herbs is now Verdant Pigment.

If you're going to mark down my comments, please list what beta build you're in and what the change is. People who are stockpiling herbs in preparation for the 3.0 patch which introduces Insciption will want to know how much to save up for power leveling it as fast as possible. The constant changes they're doing to pigments per milling affects how many herbs you'll need.

Text has changed in beta build 8982:

"Commonly obtained when milling Mageroyal, Briarthorn, Swiftthistle, Bruiseweed, and Stranglekelp."

So Alabaster Pigment lost Mageroyal, and Dusky/Verdant Pigment gained it. For those stockpiling herbs to power level inscription when the 3.0 patch hits in October, this may have a small impact on what you save up.

If these lower-level herbs sell for a premium and/or appear in limited quantities on your AH, the best place to farm the mats for this pigment is The Barrens. All five herbs which mill into this appear in quantity in that zone. I was getting about 90 herbs (18 mills, or 13 pigment) per hour. Hit the bay from Ratchet to Northwatch Hold once an hour for 15 or so Stranglekelp (takes 3 minutes on a Sea Turtle).
