Making this the best PVE caster dps dagger in the game, hands down.

The stats are completely meaningless, it doesn't matter. For pvp, you would use something that has more longevity, but almost 2% crit on a weapon is redonkulous for constant dps.

Better than the Nathrezim Mindblade and Bloodsaw Magus Blade because of the sockets. Better than the Fang of the Leviathan, even, unless you really don't need spell hit.

There is one class that suffer from this though, and that is paladins. Especially protection or holy spec trying to quest some solo.

I would like both spell damage and higher DPS than 41, but that is not possible at the moment :(

Amazing weapon, the second best until Tier6 instances. Blows away the dagger from Prince, the sword from Gruul and the one from Leotheras the Blind. Great distribution of damage stats.

With 2 Runed Living Rubies, we're looking at:

+212 Spell Damage
+9 SpellHit rating - worth 9 spell damage points.
+1 % crit (including Intellect) - worth 15 damage points for a Deep Fire mage.

So all in all, 236 damage points, more if you use a PvP 12 spell damage gem.

By comparison, Nathrezim and Gruul sword are worth 221 damage points.
Leo's sword is worth 224 points.

The Season2 Arena weapon, however, is worth 243 damage points, making it ~7 damage points better plus 270 HP. (less if you use PvP gem)

However, the first real upgrade comes with the dagger from the first boss in BT.

This is superior to Nethrezim Mindblade for an elemental shaman (and probably other classes) when it is correctly socketed. This is totally from a PvE standpoint and stamina is not taken into account.

The stats which count on Nathrezim Mindblade are:

18 intellect
23 spell crit rating
203 spell damage

Talon of the Tempest's stats are:

10 intellect
19 spell crit rating
194 spell damage

Now, assuming you socket two Potent Noble Topaz into this (also granting the socket bonus) the stats become:

13 intellect (+3 from socket bonus)
9 spell hit rating (unchanged)
27 spell crit rating (+8 from gems)
204 spell damage (+10 from gems)

This in comparison to Nathrezim Mindblade:

-5 intellect
+9 spell hit rating (for the hit handicapped)
+4 spell crit rating
+1 spell damage

you could gem differently for a boosted bonus of spell damage (using two Runed Living Rubies) or for spell critical rating (using two Gleaming Dawnstones)

Easily one of the best spell daggers for lvl 70 casters if only for the ability to ignore the socket bonus and add 2x 23sp Runed Cardinal Ruby and enchant with +63sp to make the potential overall spell power on this weapon 303, easily worth 300g in todays average US/EU Server economys.

Pretty awesome caster dagger, and even more so with 2 yellow sockets and a bonus of even more intellect, or you could load it with a couple 12 stam gems for pvp. Great for those people who want every little bit of stat action.

With talents shamans can also add another +11 to crit with Call of Thunder and Tidal Mastery. Since the extra casts from Lightning Overload can also crit, elemental shamans can potentially put out some serious DPS. Lightning Overload sucks 95% of the time but that last 5% kicks ass.

Tidal Mastery +5% Damage for CRIT

Crit 150%dmg
Tidal Mastery + Crit 155%dmg
Elemental Fury + Crit 200%dmg
Elementel Fury + Tidal Mastery + crit 205%dmg

If a guild has an elem shaman or a balance druid that raid and play DPS most of the time, then thy should have as much right to something like this as a mage/lock/shadow priest. If it's about progression, then you want all your caster DPS to do as well as possible, no matter what the class is.

lets say that a shaman would be in dire need of a new wep, but doesnt have enough arena points and doesnt get to play during primetime raiding hours, how feasible would it be to get a group together to take down doomwalker a few times until this drops? like is doomwalker 5-mannable, 10-mannable, or must it be a 20 man? pvp doesnt offer any really good rewards anymore, and nobody does 5 mans during lunchbreak hours so tell me, is this dagger a better bet to try for?

alright what i meant about the alliance shamman thing was that the only one that I have seen use chain did 3.6k might be better idk but CoD cant crit it does get extra dmg tho(how did this get started again?).
