I love the look of these things, and my original goal for my shaman was to get one.

However, when they changed the entire setup of honor and pvp rewards shortly before TBC, these things became increasingly common on my server, nothing special or unique anymore. Kind of sad, really.

I still love how these things look, but I ended up buying a Swift Blue Raptor instead, purely because I didn't want to look like a clone of everyone else.

Probably the most common horde mount in the game, like very one gets it, its just to awesome, easy to get, and awesome looking, best looking raptor mabey.

Why do all the epic raptors have the little balls on the end of their horns? To me it seems like they're 'saftey raptors'-complete with wax-tipped horns to prevent the accidental gutting of your neighbor.

This mount is underused on my server; Hordies have not won a game of AV in a VERY long time, so the marks nessicary to get this can only be obtained by grinding a lot of losses. Just got this on my DK, just to have a mount that few people still have.

Ever since WoTLK the new fad mounts have become bears and mammoths.
This means, while still not exactly rare, you can safely go for this mount without being War Raptor Clone #153436485485732.

I would like to note that as a male tauren, you are taller on this mount than on a kodo, albeit, not by much, but it is still noticeable.

Still, it's pretty cool, and a great companion to a Venomhide Ravasaur (an armored one for PvP, an un-armored one for hanging out in Org/Dal).

Ok 1st off Im Assuming you can use it even if your ranks lowers also the commander/lt general is just the name for rank 11.The av mount still requires the higher riding skill but its like 8 or 9gold for the mount itself. the rank 11 mounts however require the lower (lv40) riding skill and yes they are epic speed thats 100% if your wondering. hope that helps.

I would assume that you can still use the raptor if your rank drops,much like if you buy the pvp gear you can still use it if your rank dropps below the requierment

As of last patch: Exalted rep is NOT needed on PvP mounts. I have all and can ride them all and I am not exalted with any of them. So save ur money, I spent 100g before figuring this out:P

1. The PvP mounts all cost 90g.
2. The AV mount costs 10g.
3. Both the PvP mounts and the AV mount are 100% speed increase and only require 75/75 riding skill.
4. You can still ride the PvP mounts even if you drop below rank 11 because PvP items are based on "lifetime rank."
5. You don't need to be exalted with any other factions in order to ride the PvP mounts or AV mount.

As of the last patch Tauren can now ride this beautiful mount, got mine the day it was released for us, damn AV tokens! ;)
With a tauren this mount is HUGE too, it looks so great!

With all of the new PvP Mounts, You need to buy the riding skill for 540g or however much it is. They changed that after they changed the ranking systems into the honor systems. The mounts do not cost any gold or honor points. 30 WSG 30 AB and 30 AV tokens are what is needed for all horde and alliance pvp epic pvp mounts except for the av specific mount(the wolf and ram)

To ride this mount do you need to pay 540g for ridding training at the local mount trainer or do you just need to get marks and trade in 4 mount.

lol just starting to get back into wow.......last time i played it was about 2 weeks after naxx was realesed and i was alaince. I love horde mounts and hate ally ones. this whole mark system is new to me but from what i can tell its alot easier to get these mounts now. lol im rerolling horde and its prob even easier for horde to get these mount becouse................they win every thing.

does a tauren look like a cow on a T- rex on these things or is it like a troll on a horse...........the character is bigger than the mount? what im asking is does the mount increase in size on a tauren or stay the same?

i believe the only way an alliance character can get any sort of epic mount is the one that drops off the boss in Zul Gurub or however they spell it...it's lime green w/ red stipes O_O

The armor was a dark red at one time, but now it's a bright pinkish red. They made it look less intimidating.

what i dont get is why only lame races get cool mounts(trolls not counted,trolls pwn all other races)and cool races get lame mounts(once again troll mount not included),gnomes get a cool robo strider,while tauren get cows(even though they match each other,it still lame mount),night elves get tigers,while blood elfs are stuck with some sort of stupid bird.it doesnt make sense
