As of 3.1, the animations for the Horde wolf mounts have been VASTLY improved. There's no more stick-up-the-butt syndrome - the run cycle now looks graceful. Also the body doesn't dip so low as to clip some of the larger races' feet. The /mountspecial has been changed slightly too, to look less like a playful puppy's bow and more fierce.

I have to disagree with you on that. i dont like the new animation one bit. The movements are sooo slow, that even with a tiny undead on it (as i play) it looks like a tauren rides it. The only real improvement imo, is the /mountspecial you allready talked about. This used to be my favourite mount, but now i have switched to Black War Bear, because i actually think the slow/soft movements are annoying to look at.

If you do a Faction Change and have this mount, it will be converted to a Black War Steed on Alliance side. But if you're an Orc or Human and you transfer your Black War Wolf/Steed will turn into the version for the race you're transferring to.

Does anyone know if I must be exhalted with Orgrimmar to buy one of these, or just have the marks? Seems pretty easy to get if I don't need to be exhalted... but I don't wanna stop farming rep unless I know I don't need it. Any info is appreciated.

No, you dont have to be exalted to get any of the war mounts, all you need are the marks, hope that helped everyone, ttyl

OK yall, with the new pvp items u can now get the horn of the black war wolf for just 30AV marks 30 AB marks and 30WSG marks and, you do not have to be exalted with Org (for all you taurens out there) and also, you do not have to have 150 riding skill in wolves it can be from anywhere.

This is and mark payable mount. its a lvl 60+ epic mount with 100% speed.
it cost 30x arathi marks , 30 Warsong marks and 30 Altarec valley marks.
Orcs, undeads, Tuarens,trolls and blood elfs can use this mount.
you can buy it in "Hall of the legends" in orgrimmar. Coord <39.67>

okay...

the three PvP mounts (and AV mount) (BE don't have on) now just need 30 WSG Marks of Honor, 30 Arathi Basin Marks of Honor, and 30 AV Marks of Honor.

All races can ride all three (and AV mount) without an exalted reputation. (ex. Tauren can ride Black War Wolf without Exalted reputation with Orgrimmar)

But it requires the 150 Riding Skill.

I personally like the raptor but the kodo and wolf looks %^&*in nice too

600g-60g for the 10% rep discount=540g total for the 150 mount training.

Bought mine yesterday, now I just need 5 more levels to be able to ride the thing. Really 60 marks isn't that hard to get. AB was the toughest for me just because it's difficult to find a game in the 50-60 bracket in my battlegroup but it really shouldn't take that long to gather up the marks for this one. Plus it saves you some gold because obviously you don't have to spend anything on a horse/wolf/kodo/whatever your mount would have been.

I got this on my druid (last 2 screenshots above) and this is the coolest pvp mount imo. I especially like the size of my wolf compared to other race's wolf and it's cool blue eyes(being a tauren, i need a bigger mount to accomidate for my large size).

no. horde can't get ally mounts and ally can't get horde mounts. (tho horde can get the spectral tiger if they want and ally can get the new white strider, but that's it)

This mount is really cool. There's no way around that fact. It took me around two weeks to get all the marks, compared to the month it took an Alliance friend of mine to get a pvp mount. It's definitely worth the time, though. I know a lot of people have them now, but thats just because they're super cool.
Get a Black War Wolf, drink the kool aid and join our awesome club. We have T-shirts.
