This staff is better than Atiesh in all respects, except for the one critical thing it's lacking in comparison: The +crit aura.

Which is kinda funny considering that Atiesh is supposed to be the staff that Medivh himself used, and this thing is presumably just one of the various trinkets laying around the ruins of his tower.

I got this staff yesterday. I am a warlock. Compared to many onehand/offhand combinations this has little spelldamage. But taking in consideration, that there are many fights in Karazhan and post-Karazhan that will be both intellect and stamina heavy this staff is wonderful.

Also, the glow is rather unique.

Untill recently I thought the same as Keensharp that it had much lower spell damage than even the blue main-hand/off-hand combos you can get BUT the thing is if you've doen the same as me to max your damage and top the charts by sacrificing Int and Stam for spell damage then when you get around to rolling on this staff it is the best possible thing you can get.

In my opinion get this staff as it counters all the losses you make on other gear in stam and int for spell damage.

I am a demon lock and this so far is the best staff i have ever used! i highly recomend other warlocks out there (that plan to do good) to get this staff, way worth your time!

If you're a demonology warlock who likes very high hp at the cost of some dmg this is your staff of choice. No other staff has as much stamina on it. The gladiator staff comes very close (and dmg wise it's alot better), but not everyone likes arena pvp. So if you're only into PVE save your DKP/dice luck for this one.

Got this baby on my shadow priest a few weeks ago, actually I was holy back then and the lock and moonkin in my raid already had it (I got it cheap too lol); log in today as 2.1 hit and I see the nice little buff it got, nothing earth-shattering but still more than welcomed.

One thing that sucks now, the glow effect got nerfed. It used to trail behind the staff in slow motion when moved around. Now it's just a boring regular effect. I'll miss it.

Daaamn! This dropped for us last night and dropped along with Warlock/mage/Hunter gloves. Me (warlock) and a mage rolled for it: But i lost :<. Got this from Curator last night (second time I've seen it drop). Certainly an improvement over my existing Continuum Blade + Star Heart Lamp combo, but this staff does lack the raw +spell damage available from a some of the epic main-hand + offhand combos. It does make up for it a bit in raw INT and STA, but as a dmg addicted mage I'm still looking to swap this out for the dagger that the Prince drops + one of the heroic off-hands eventually (I'll probably pass for anyone without an existing epic weapon before I roll on that dagger though).

What distinguishes this staff from most 1H combos is the massive stats. +61 stamina and +51 intellect is enormous; combos like the Nathrezim Mindblade and a good epic offhand give you closer to +35 stamina and +35 intellect. Combined with the spell hit, this staff is a great choice on difficult raid bosses where you need lots of health and mana.

This Moonkin would die for this staff, In fact I have die many times too get it.
So far our guild has downed The Curator 29 times and the Staff is still a Mystery too all of us,so for now this Moonkin takes it one week at a time.

Yes, The Nexus Key is indeed better. Too bad it drops from Kael'Thas which is way further in raid progression than The Curator, so this staff shouldn't really be compared to The Nexus Key.

as an arc mage i'm looking for this because...i'm not hit capped more dmg = more effiency and i've already got about 18 crit chance in blues but with mind mastery and arcane mind, my dmg will shoot through the roof, and i'll still have a good crit chance

Does this staff show most enchanting effects on it? I've seen people with +40 spell damage on it, but I don't see the effect anywhere on the staff, I would like to know if it shows executioner, as that would be what I would put on it, just for the visual effects :)

Having a shadowpriest in raids for 25 man content and even Karazhan gives u lot of free healing and sick mana regen... BUT... you dont "NEED" a shadowpriest for raiding. Can easily be done without

I got this on my 3rd Kara run, no locks in party and i'm the only mage so I was very lucky.

It may not have the +spell dam of the gladiators staff but it looks far cooler and I'm sick of seeing every 70 caster on my server with the same red toothpick staff - nice to be different!

id kill for this staff but im only 67, and not even close to getting keyed for kara, but once i do, i got like 3 guilds i could roll with to get this baby =) all i can say is i think locks benefit from this most, cause the stam and int. In addiction the spell hit helps a little too. but for all those people who think this is a one class staff, why wouldnt it say "class:warlock" or "class:mage" lol so its for everyone a @#$%ing warior could get this for all i care as long as hes not in my raid 0_o

This is a nice staff but if you're looking for max dmg etc... the dagger from the prince + offhand is a better combo and this staff is just as good for mages/locks. I would say more for locks because of the +hit and stamina since locks don't have talents that improve there +hit(unless you count supression but I don't because it only affects affliction spells) but mages can benefit just as good from the stats too. just pointing out theres better dmg weapon combos out there...but it does look bad ass none the less.

Whats the problem with you guys? This is clearly a Hunter Item. Like everything in the game is made for hunters. Plate Armor is made for hunter enchanters.

so would you please stop this "OMFGSTFU this is clearly a item". This staff is great for all casting damagedealers. with a fine enchant on it, it surely kicks a**.

and by the way, in the end it doesn't matter who got this thing, as long as it supports the raid.

I play a mage and my guild is working on this guy (hopefully tonight it's ours!).

I totally agree that this is a caster weapon. Yes, warlocks can benefit from it. Yes, so can mages.

I'd also like to point out that this boss requires a shadowpriest to down him... he has a phase where he takes 300% of normal damage for 20 seconds. Put a shadowpriest in the healer group, and that priest puts up vampiric touch and damages their heart out, you can get your healers a TON of mana back. So yes, you do need shadow priests for raids.

Man this staff is clearly for both mages and locks... Since there are only 2 epic staffs in TBC that are ment for mages and locks... so unless you want to fight in arenas for weeks this is the only epic staff for mages and locks.

Well geared Shadow Priests are an amazing addition to a Kara raid. These days, a guild would be stupid to ignore that fact.

Mages have better options out there, this is really stamina heavy and the +hit would be better for Warlocks and Shadow Priests... I would be disappointed if either outrolled me for it, but only out of jealousy :)

Warlocks would benefit 100% from this staff. More stam = more lifetaps, +hit for affliction.

It's very high in stam and int - so it's great for any caster. It has to hit which is good for anyone tackling mobs lvl 70 or higher. So that's good too... It's damage is comparable to the gladiator war staff.

13% drop rate is about 1/8 so the law of averages would state it would take 8 resets per caster to get one of these. If you're not near the very top of your DKP chart, I would seriously suggest getting the gladiator's war staff in the mean time.

if you cant get this staff i would suggest running a few heroic seth runs and get Terokk's Shadowstaff which is a very nice staff cause of the spell critcal hit rating

staff of infinite is good and is for any spell caster classes like ele shammy,boomkin,locks,mages blah blah like someone said if it was more for a current class it wold say "(insert class name here) only"

all in all good staff get it if you can

1) All classes benefit from stamina especially in raid instances since aggro CAN shift. That's why nearly every TBC epic staffs has a high amount of stamina.

2) All dps caster classes benefit from the +damage. None more than others.

Really, nothing more to say about it. Whine in /g or even /gquit if you feel mistreated because a lock/mage/elementalshammy/shadowpriest/druid got this over you...

How come whenever it comes to DPS/HEALING Stalves, mages and locks always argue with me? I am a Full Balance Druid who uses Both the Spell DPS AS WELL AS THE HEALING! This staff is Extremely benefical to a balance druid, in fact its about as good as it gets for us Boomkins. I am just getting really sick of mages and locks arguing with me over Spell dmg/ healing Stalves. Everyone always forgets about us druids needing these.

Ellerdene18 you're arguing obvious points with debatable points.

If you can't equip an item, then you would OBVIOUSLY not roll on it.

This is a caster staff, so yes, any caster should be able to roll on it.

Just got it last night, pretty awesome staff. However, as a warlock with continuum/orb of soul eater, this isnt a very big upgrade. For most warlocks who get this far, they almost certainly will have the orb of the soul eater and some sort of rare blade, be it continuum, horrid dreams, or mana wraith. While this staff is a slight upgrade from those 2 combined, it is also a 'transitional' weapon until one can pick up the nathrezim mindblade from prince or the bloodmaw magus off of gruul. One of those + the badge offhand = HUGE upgrade from this weapon. I took it because i was the only caster last night, but overall, instead of this going to a specific class, it should probably just go to the person who has the biggest upgrade from it, because you will be getting better very very soon. If you can down curator, then you are geared enough(according to blizzard) to empty kara with that group(assuming the class structure is optimal), meaning the phat lootz is comin.

btw yes you don't need a spriest, but hell if your an spriest in a raid- i guarantee that you wont come unwanted as everyone will want your mana regen. Also - to all you budding shadow priests out there- don't be intimidated by some of these peps who tell you that you're useless unless your holy because you can't out dps or dps for sheyt but who'se gonna hate you when they're mana pools are full eh? :P

Yeah its a Good staff for Casters, period, some Maybe more than others.....But Good for alot of Classes (Warlock,Shadow Priest, Boomkin, Mage)

Im A Lock with it so Im loving the extra stamina for the life taps its given so i can spank off more SB's or Seed's if need be. Im loving it rite now til I get something better
