Ok to enlightin everyone on uses for the smoak flares... remember the early raiding days in ZG. The raid leader would mark 2 people, healers over there and dps over here blah blah. This is also the case in many, many other instances. Now instead of marking a person, drop a flare for people to gather on. No super secret uses for them, there isnt epics in the smoke ;)

Okay I hope someone figures out what these are for. I made a couple and used them, testing a number of theories.

Turns out that NO ONE can see them except for ME! I don't get it... I'll post this on the other flares too...

Edit: Tried it out a few more times and suddenly others CAN see it... I was in Honor Hold at the time no one could see it.

i thought flares r for detecting stealth? You drop them somewhere and when a stealthed player passes you see them.

The only reason would be to help level your engineering. I see no real purpose of this item in the game. Well, ok, maybe if you're a serious RP type you could come up with some reason for the smoke, like to mark the LZ for your Hueys as they lift your platoon out of country... oh wait, that's not WoW, that's BF:V.

ENNEMY faction can't see it, this thing suxx, i wanted to use it to attract ennemy players, but after asking, you can only see it if you are in the same faction of the guy who use it

There is nothing bad about this item, its an extremely cheap way to level your engineering. They're kinda entertaining and have as much use as you give it.

The flares are good for fight's where positioning really matters - i.e Nightbane.

We drop a flare where the small skull is ( the spot that Nightbane lands around) and one where the tank needs to fight. During the fight where there is charred earth, frost, lots of smoke, fumes and one very large dragon, even with pulling the screen way back its hard to position everyone. Hence smoke flares are excellent.

Not to mention when you do new fights - you can use the flares to position those new to the fight.

Yea our Kara runs we've been using symbols over the raid leader's head, which works great but for the times, "Tank him over there." or "Find a spot which you will remember and tank bla there." These flares are convenient. If anyone thinks they are vanity items or useless, they haven't raided. :P I just wish I could find mooooore from vendors.

No, these are useful for raids, for encounters such as hydross, morogrim etc where positoing of tanks is vital.

You cant use these things inside City Limits, such as inside Iron Forge or Shattrath city.

I don't think the levels displayed here are correct. I bought the schematic last night, and the skill was orange from 341 ro 350. I made 9 sets, got 9 skill points in engineering.

And it was practically free. I mean, who doesn't have extra neitherweave cloth and elemental blasting powder in their bags?

Overall, paying 5G for the schematic + maybe the equivalent of 2g in mats for 10 skill points is a really good deal.

Useless, or perhaps to mark where people should stand. There is at least a white flare too.

But I don't whine, it got me from 335 to 352 whopping fast. :)
