OK now i got a little sugesstion that if you are able to skin lvl 31 mobs and want to get your skining lvl higher go to the yetis cave in hillsbrad they drop medeium leather about 90% of the time and heavy the other 10% and i was there 30 mins went from 180 skinning to 225 then i had to train but while i was skinning i got 200 medium leather
and 54 heavy leather and a few hides of different sorts so go to the yetis cave for fun and leather

Arathi Highlands......A figure 8 around the zone usually nets me >100 Medium Leather, >20 Heavy Leather, 5-10 Medium and Heavy Hides. You only need to focus on the Highland Striders and Thrashers. ezmode farmin'....

I agree that Stranglethorn Vale is definately a really good place for medium leather. Also heavy leather drops at about the same pace for me.
Just stick to the northeast part, and everything spawns right and left so you never run out of raptors and panthers to skin.

This area is no better than the yeti's north from South Shore. If your after some decent respawn rates your better off going to Twilight Grove over in Duskwood. Spent a good hour here and only managed to get 2 stacks of medium leather.

You guys are stupid... I've farmed for Medium Leather in STV starting at rebel camp and making my way around to booty on the west side.. everything i've killed (which is a LOT!) dropped medium leather, every now again some heavy leather, just go to rebel camp and start pickin them off one by one, if you're an 80 it's cake

Best results are with the skinning skill. Very profitable at the AH, just have to find high demand times. A stack (20) usually sell for 1g. I am most successful in skinning these at Duskwood from the NightBane Tainted One. Very easy cuz they're "only" lvl29.

i had a great drop rate from the pridewings near the mirkfallon lake in the middle of the stonetalon mountains. pretty much every time i scin one i get medium leather.

Giant Foreststriders in southwest Darkshore tend to give medium or 2 light leather with skinning. Maybe that's what drop means above since it doesn't say who gives what with skinning. Coordinates 38,93 and north up to the Master's Glaive and maybe even further north you'll get some. Leatherworkers make medium from light leather and turn medium leather into heavy leather. It's a learned skill taught by standard leatherworking trainers if and when you are advanced enough.

Also at same coords as above Moonstalker Sires skin medium leather sometimes and there's lots of bears around that are worth a try. These are mostly all 17 to 19 lvl beasts with the occasional 20 or 21.

I'm a 70 rogue who recently dropped Mining and went LWing...

At about 110 skill, I needed ALOT of Medium Leather...A nice place I recommend is the yeti cave in Hillsbrad Foothills...

I skinned Medium Leathers off these guys 80% of the time, and Heavy Leathers for the other 20%. And they **always** drop leather, no scraps. A few hides as well, but those are rare.

I got about two stacks in 10 min by just auto-attacking these guys.

An excellent place to skin for medium leather is Stranglethorn Vale. That place is just crawling with critters. The young panthers and young tigers drop medium leather about 75% of the time, and 25% they drop heavy leather, and occassionally a hide. I got 3 stacks in an hour by grinding them.

Also, if you're a skinner in Stranglethorn, make it a routine to check the area between the Kurzen Camp and the Rebel Camp, which is filled with Young Panthers. People often kill them for the Panther Mastery Quest or just to get to the Kurzens, and the place is often littered with corpses - a skinner's dream come true.

63.82 south of duskwood, there are a big group of werewolf on a small place, for a mage is a nice place to farm cuz they are melee attackers. they drop medium leather and some heavy ones, just leather, not scraps plus a good respawn rating. when u kill the last mob there, inmidietly another 2-3 respawns ^^

The best place to get Medium Leather is Shadowfang keep.
i got 66 Medium Leather from 1 run!
get a high level friend too boost you or log on you level 70 (if you have ;P)

Shadowfang Keep is a nice place to farm medium leather, but you also have to loot a bunch of grey items to be able to skin, so have a lot of bag space.

WORGEN can be skinned, I am aware of ones in duskwood and also northern ashenvale. They drop only money or green items, and always produce medium or hevy leather (or hides) when skinned.

K as mentioned before by some1 nightbane blah blahs or watever can be found in duskwood(alliance), think thats south of the Stormwind place, for all of you who actually can kill the nightbanes it is a very very good source of gold at least if u can skin

ALmost every single time u skin em u get med leather, in stacks of twenty i sell em for wat 2.5g (well at least thats how it goes in my world~ nazgrel or somethin like that) each and i get them sold in about half a day.

Once u move onto heavy leather u can sell stacks of 20 for at least 5.5g sometimes the nightbanes also drop heavy leather so if u wanna go kill em i advise u take the heavy leather as well.

For me a lvl like wat 34 hunter i can farm about say 70g in about one hour from nightbanes and for a 34 thats a pretty slick deal

the raptors right outside hammerfall in Arathi Highlands is also a decent place to farm medium leathers. Good respawn rate, close to flight path and also drops a few heavy leathers.

By FAR the best place to farm medium leather is in Duskwood, around 63, 80. There's a camp or worgen there that spawn continuously. I never waited for a respwan at all. I've been there for 15 min now, and I have 4 stacks. That equals 16 stacks in one hour....UNHEARD OF!

Hi ! Im a lvl 70 druid with 375 leatherworking . when im in need of med. leather i head down to astranar . take the road down towards felwood , across from the lumber camps are some stretches of bear and elk . they drop nothing but med. leather along with some light hide and medium hide , the drop rate of med. leather is about 90% , skinned for one hour had 70 med leather 3 light hide 4 med hide .....gl people

The worgs To the West of Darkshire drop Medium Leather at a pretty high rate. You must be skinning though.

My preferred medium leather skinning region is in Duskwood... the lvl 28-30 (werewolf looking) worgens in the southeast. These really cool looking mobs tend to congregate, which makes them easier to grind, especially for hi-lvl toons that would PREFER a swarm. Check out the scenic Rotting Orchard (66,68) and the mine (72,66). Not having to waste your time chasing after mobs really cuts down on the grind. They respawn quickly and cheap greens (1-1.5gp at AH) are frequent.

Having a look at the drop rate od some of the creatures on here and I have noticed that some have a drop rate of 2k+. Young Stranglethorn Tiger 2910.29%.

Surely there can only be a 100% chance drop rate which means they drop it all the time.

Just a little confused as to how the percentages are worked out.

I second Caladdin's description - I shop that spot every time I need a couple of stacks - takes about 20 minutes if you're high level. Very little trash drops, some sliver/copper per kill and occasional Heavy Leather, Medium Hide, etc.

These are NOT drops, btw - You have to be a Skinner!

I'm assuming the drop rates above are for skinned mobs. But for those of us with no skinning skills and on servers where med leather is even hard to find on the AH, are there any mobs that actually drop it without having to skin it?

If your looking to farm this the Elder Shadowhorns and Ghostpaw alphas outside Splinter tree in Ashenvale have the best drop I've found. Picked up 25 in 5 mins with my 70 hunter.

I think the best for farming 中皮 is Northern Stranglethorn around Nessingwary's Camp and Lake Nazferiti.
The beasts are between 30 and 33 which is where you get the most 中皮 dropping (about 70% to 75%).
You will get 重皮 also dropping (probably around 20%) and hides.
