I don't know. I would easily let someone take the Wraith Blade, seeing this gives my pet more HP and Mana, but still considerable ATK (and me spelldamage).

Yes, Wraith Blade does a bit more damage, but also drops my HP further, and more important the pet-stats. (from which I gain spellpower again via Demonic Knowledge)

Wraith Blade is technically on the rare drop loot table while this is not. Yes, Wraith is the better weapon for dmg and the crit...but I wouldn't count this one out. With better stats, and only slightly less +dmg than the Wraith, it is still a massive upgrade from SoSF and Azuresong. Although it doesn't exactly stand out much from the Silithid Femur, Viscidus takes considerable more work (and more consumables) to kill than the loot pinata known as Grobbulus.

It's basically a great option for casters stuck with bad weapons but have plenty of extra DKP in their guild.

I got the lvl 70 pvp dagger with +121 spelldmg and some crit, resiliece and stats... alot better then this. Farmed for him in a couple of hours for the EotS marks.

95% of raiding guilds use DKP system. If you have DKP, you can bid on whatever you want. Even if its only for Nexus crystals.

Our guild has more locks with Mageblade, than mages. More druids with Staff of Dominance, than mages. We have more mages with Shadow Wing Focus Staffs than druids. We also have plenty of druids and priests with maces (which are considered Pally weapons). They use whatever they want to use and nobody has a problem with it.

THIS IS A CASTER WEAPON! CASTERS ARE: warlock, mage, priest, druid, paladin, shaman. Period. Any of those classes can benefit from it.

P.S. NO, hunters ARE NOT CASTERS.

I got this today(srver first), and iam a mage:D, it may be designed for a warlock due to the high stam, but it has a very nice ammount of +dmg, and since there is a big line for Wraith Blade, i thought "wth".

Edit: ohh and the boss is so damn ez:D, too bad u gotta kill Patchwerk first, who is somewhat more of a challenge^^

im a priest and I can assure you this is terrible for healers (no spirit no mp5) compared to other options lok,mace off cthun,mace off widow or even the cc exhalted one is even better

wraith blade is a terrible drop rate if a healer wants this over dps they are retarded and only gimping themself

ok we know that you (preists) have lives outside of the raids but when looting do you look for who is going to get the full use out of this or who will be able to farm the most with this? point made! i would like to have this but i think the kris of unspoken names looks cooler >_< i try to look nice when my lock is owning you.

if the locks or mages for some reason are stupid and pass this up then go for it. but thanks for making a preist.

Warlock gain more of a bonus from +damage because a good amount of their damage is from dots which can not crit.

Mages gain more of a bonus with +crit because almost every if not every spell is effected by it.

When blizzard creates items with crit the price for crit is cheaper than the price of +damage for the same amount of dps if a mage is wearing it. +damage and +crit are about equal for a mage if it isn't crit spec.

If a warlock is wearing an items with +crit it will be about equal of an item with +damage if you are ruin spec, and less effective if you are not ruin spec.

This is why some people are posting that +damage is better for warlocks than mages, which is true.

This dagger is complete trash comparably to a Wraith Blade. I don't understand why it's on Grobbulus loot-table and as a priest I would rather have the end of dreams for PvP. It has more +spelldmg than a Lok'amir and it has 5 mp/5. Midnight Haze is like a Lok'amir for a mage/lock because its all dmg and nothing else.

Yes, stamina is in fact a vital lock stat. However, stamina is useful to any caster. I consider it the secondary stat for mages. There is also more to this blade than its stamina, look at the equips and you will see what I am talking about.

Wraith Blade rarely drops (like only twice), and I don't raid with my guild all the time. My OH is Scepter of Vek'lor and it's a good combination.

I got this tonight, being a mage ive gotten like a billion whispers all sounding like "LOCK DAGGER!" and sure i wanted Wraith Blade, but everyone wants wraith blade, and the dmg and stam on this baby is very hot either way=), and it drops from prolly the easiest boss in naxx, too bad u gotta pass Patchwerk first:p

Regarding Midnight Haze.. .I got it on my druid and although EoD would have been better... it was a huge upgrade.. the one thing I noticed though is that MH is one hand.. which means that in the exp... a shammy could DW Lok and MH... that would make them just shy of godlike

This beats the staves from MC or BWL, yes, even Staff of Shadow Flame. Just get any of the epic off-hands and it's easily better than any staff available outside Naxx itself. o_o

Yes, it's a dagger, so gimpadins will not be rolling on this. I wanted to say that to a caster one-hander for a while now.

This is 3rd best 1h caster weapon in game. The End of Dreams is a far superior one aside for the druid feral bonus to AP. And the mage/lock sword is even better than either of those. Regarding offhands, just wait till alla gets Sapphiron's left eye on their database. But hey, my shaman would want this or End of Dreams either way.

Lol, it's got allmost twice as much spelldamage as my Sourcerous Dagger + Tome of the Lost. With no offhand. Put +30 spelldmg enchant on it and it'll probobly follow you in to Karazhan.
