This item, sometimes dropped by acolytes at Windrunner Spire in the Ghostlands, starts a small quest chain that will take you to the Undercity in order to return the necklace to its rightful owner, Sylvanas Windrunner.

She happens to be the big boss (and as it also happens, undead Blood Elf) of the Forsaken. There is a very nice easter egg associated with turning in the final quest step, so make sure you don't skip it.

I won't say what happens, but it's a rather unique sequence in WoW and well worth the effort of doing!
(Edit: as below poster correctly points out, she's technically a high elf and not a blood elf, which I of course knew but I didn't want to go into this whole lorelol explanation of how and why she is what she is - I thought it simpler to just call her a blood elf since she once belonged to the same people as those that now are called blood elves. Cheers! :D)

Drops off mobs at the WindRunner Spire. Dropped after 2 kills.

Once you give Lady Sylvanas the necklace she'll start the Lament of the Highborne concert. You might want to stay and listen, it's very nice.

Is it worth to follow this Chain? it should result in something nice but i cant find out

評論來自 Thottbot

Even though you think its a dramatic Chain, it only ends in leading you to Sepulcher and giving you 3 S :(

the song part is absolutely amazing, very worthwhile imho

No point in getting gold or being the best player in WoW if you can't enjoy some of the Warcraft story. People who have played Warcraft III and its expansion must know the sad story of Sylvanas an this song is the best reward that any quest could give. I had to make a Blood elf alt just to enjoy it. Wish alliance could get this quest... (They could make an alternative of Tyrande singing :P)

ok i got the necklace and tried to talk to the guy at tranquil but he wont say n e thing to me about it will s 1 please help cause i am stuck

評論來自 Thottbot

I agree. I think that alot of people that walk around big and bad can't say much about Warcraft becuase they know nothing of the story. I've played Warcraft I, II, III and the Expansion, so it means alot to me to see people from the first game. For instance, the first time I was wandering Desolace and I ran into Rexxar, I was amazed. I can't wait to see Illidan.

As above, Lady Sylvanus's song (and her highborne undead backup singers!) make this one of the coolest quests that I have done so far in WoW.

But if you want to be spoiled...

The entire song scene is available on Youtube.

I was running back to my corpse as a ghost, me being a Blood Elf Paladin, and this song suddenly started playing. How wierd, is this a know event, who does it effect, and can i have any control to start it going ?

Its the quest from Ghostlands. A necklace that drops in Spire of windrunner, Sylvanas former home..

The necklace was given to her by her presumed dead sister who were lost in the second war.

Sylvanas does not want to show weakness amongst her servants by showing her emotions and feelings for her lost sister so she throws the necklace on the floor, only a few seconds later she opens it to play it melody and she begins to sing the tale of the scourge invading
Silvermoon..

The song in elven and commen.

Elven:
Anar'alah.
Anar'alah Belore.
Sin'dorei.
Shindu Fallah Na.
Sindorei.
Anar'alah.
Shindu Sin'dorei.
Shindu fallah na.
Anar'alah Belore.
Shindu sin'dorei.
Shindu fallah Na.
Sin'dorei.
Anar'alah belore.
Belore..

Commen:

By the light.
By the light of the sun.
Children of the blood.
Our enemies are breaking through.
Children of the blood.
By the light.
Failing Children of the blood.
They are breakin thorugh.
O children of the blood.
By the light of the sun.
Failing children of the blood.
They are breaking through.
O children of the blood.
By the light of the sun.
Sun..

Very sad indeed, that is why Sylvanas is my favourite character of all warcraft games. She had a hard history and became a monstrosity in the end, yet still she has a earth to carry her sorrow, wich will make her desire for vengeance even bigger against Arthas and the scourge.

Enjoy making that quest because its beautiful.. *sniffs*

The entire song is played if you click on the 'credits' when you start up WoW. No need to use youtube for a half rated version.

the most beautiful song ever.
its so relaxing too, me and my bf fell asleep to it last night playing it on loop. hehe.

you can turn the necklace into lady sylvanas if you aren't a BloodElf, you won't hear the song, but you'll get the book from the blood elf next to lady sylvanas that will teach you the lyrics to lament of the highbourne.

評論來自 Thottbot

yes it is worthwhile to follow the chain because in the end you hear the sad, serene melody of lament of the highbourne, sung by lady sylvanas, and to answer another question, you can complete the quest for the necklace if your not a Blood Elf, you won't hear the song, but if you talk to the Blood Elf next to lady sylvanas, he will give you the book so you may learn the lyrics to lament of the highbourne

評論來自 Thottbot

Confirmed, did it today on my troll priest and heard Lady Sylvanas Windrunner singing. Nice to get a quest that goes into the history of how the forsaken came to be.

If you go to Wow.com and go to music you can watch a movie clip of Sylvanas having a Flash-Back and singing the song :)

Those of u who dont know the quest is a continuation of the story of her incounter with arathas who later becomes the litch king.

If u want to know the story of her tragic death play the old warcraft 3 games

Just wanted to confirm that not only blood elves hear the song but also the forsaken themselves which is naturally. I have just completed the quest as an undead, heard the song, didn't get the book. (Someone here stated about bloodelves being the only race to hear it).

Cheers.

評論來自 Thottbot

I suspect that there is no longer book gift from the Lady. I have completed this quest as an orc yesterday, and still I could hear her perfoming the singing. No book for me as well.

評論來自 Thottbot

I just completed this quest & received a book. I did have to ask for it. (BE race.)

If anyone actually wants to know where this necklace came from, and who Alleria is, read the book "Beyond the Dark Portal."
The necklace is actually one of three that were meant for each of the three Windrunner sisters: Sylvanas, Alleria, and Vereesa. They started out as three stones on a necklace of Alleria's, but she took the stones and put one in 3 separate necklaces and gave them to her second in command before embarking into Outland/Draenor.
