1) All ring enchantments make "Bind when Equipped" rings Soulbound.
2) All ring enchantments are enchanters only. You can't sell ring enchantments in any form (Formulas are "Bind on Pickup", Rings become soul bounded, and can not be traded within the trade screen.
3) Requires a level 35 (or higher) Ring.

I am seriously considering dropping Alchemy for enchanting. And giving my alt shaman alchemy instead. This enchant will give me 24 extra damage. Plus I could just farm Ramparts/scholo/lBRS/Strath when I am bored and get tons of Shards.

So how hard is it to level to 360? I bet there is a road block somewhere.

as of patch 2.2, mats for this enchant (and others) have been lowered. This is now just 2 shards and 2 greater planar

after doing heroics for badges for so long, and not having much luck with the whole "enchanting X, Y, Z, free w/your mats" i ended up using this to level my enchanting from 367 to 375

I counted the cost of the components from the median prices at allakhazam.

Oh. My. God. The nerf with the materials is insane! O_O

Are there any other ways to get a ring enchant for non-enchanters in game right now? Like a quest or boss drop?

Been trying to figure out what to do profession wise and this could make or break things for me.

this works exactly like rogues poisons, can only enchant your own rings, tryed thro tradeing window, doesnt work, also if u enchant BOE ring it will become soulbound

but 24 spell dmg for 2 rings, heck not bad at all
totaly worth it, for 41 arcane frost mages this adds about 50 dmg on critted Frostbolt.

I thought it would be hell, starting off with enchanting. But I've had it "passivly grow" in the shadows while leveling, and I dont think it was so bad. The worst part is 270 something to 300, after that (and before) it's quite easy. Prob spent 1k on enchanting, and its worth it now when skill is high. Get good gear, and can sell for decent prices.

(Of course, if you want to raise enchanting FAST it'll cost ya more.)

I picked up enchanting 2 weeks ago because my tailoring needed so many disenchanted materials.

First weekend, only gold spent was for the trainer, 1 formula from a vendor, and the blacksmith rods, skill achieved 275. In 2 days.

275 to 300 I had to farm some ironweb spider silk and just made old grey tailoring items to get skill up to 300, easy, but did take a little time to farm the silk and runecloth.

300-360 has been passive, I did grind to get the +40 spell damage to weapon before the next patch went live. During that time, I hit Shattrath, always advertise enchants free with mats, there was my skill points.

Im 360 Enchanting, less than 300g spent. I actually have made that back probably double from tips, and selling mats I dont need.

Enchanting is not that expensive if your a tailor or have a tailor friend.

as a 70 mage I clear Deadmines in 6,2 minutes so, Greenies and blue items for everyone...
When you need higher level items just go to Scarlet monastery or ZF, easy do^^

If you are a caster, tailoring is a very nice thing to level with enchanting. You simply farm mobs for cloth and green items, raise your tailoring with the cloth while DEing any greens you don't want to keep or sell, and use the enchanting materials from what you craft.

It is a very efficient way to level enchanting; time consuming but cheap. The idea is to grind low level instances and work your way up, keeping the professions close in terms of your skill level until you make a comfortable profit.

It's nice, I just made a whole bunch of netherweave gear and DE'd the majority, got many stacks of arcane dust and farmed/bought mats for my epic tailoring set in between.

The materials are listed incorrectly for this enchant.

I bought the enchant today 10/19/2007 and it only requires 2 Large Prismatic Shards and 2 Greater Planar Essences. It is listed as requiring 8 of each.

yeah once you enchant the rings and drop the profession you get to keep the enchantments still. But why drop the skill when you are more than likely going to get new and improved rings?

wtf you people saying drop enchanting are ^&*!@#ed. It costs money to get it up but after that its the ONLY profession that you actually make money in. any old blue bop ( including quest rewards) DE into a shard worth 25g each on my server. I run heroics a lot and I leave with 50 or 75g a run sometimes, minus say 5-10g for repairs.

Enchanting DOES NOT make any money. Working for tips is pittle to me I dont do that. Selling enchants loses money as most people sell them for less then the cost of mats.

Disenchanting DOES make money. DE the shard, throw on AH, 25g a pop.

I make money enchanting. It just takes a while to get to that point. I NEVER buy mats, that's just silly. And actually i don't think i sold any enchants till 300ish lvl. but hell, if i have the mats for the 15 agi to 1h weaps i can sell that for 250g. If they have the mats, I tend to be tipped 10g a weap...so 20g for 1 on each weap. When people need things DE'd, they tend to tip me 5g.
So, I guess what I am am trying to say is that after 300 you can make plenty of money in the biz. OH, and I tend to sell that 10 int to weapon chant for about 150g. If you don't buy mats, then you make money.

or what you can do is start lvling with some RL friends and trade them their boe's to de for your free enchants, thats what i did, had 3 friends sending me boe greens that would not sell as twink gear or decent gear for classes I.E Agil and Strng Cloth, and i used that. lvled from 1-330 on only the money for the patterns from the trainer. so probably around 100g. Oh and my other proffession is mining so i can easily get the mats for all the bars i need for my rods :D.
