I recived 5 dreamscale when skinning Ysondre today (Mon 07/11/05) so like Onyxia the number of scales you recive is not a set amount.

Also (although not confirmed) I do believe you will receive some CC rep for killing mobs within AQ.

The BOP issue is something els. I imagine that like most crafted epic pieces this will be changed to BOE at some point.

I think I'm going to get one of these with time. This breastplate is useful only for one reason: NR, which comes in very handy in Zul Gurub.

So for a Hunter like me: +30 NR from the BP, + 60 from Aspect of the Wild +10 from the heart of Noxxion = 100 NR without MotW or any other item or potion.

Not to mention apparently in the new AQ instance will be even more important than FR at ragnaros/onyxia etc. ... And if you take a look at the drops from the 4 dragons it's full of nature resistance... preparing us for the new instance to come :)

This is like the Blackdragon Set. Wear this for a special nature spattering boss. This is your alternative set, not something u wear everyday. The fact that it's purple causes widespread despair. If this was a blue item, I wouldnt need to waste my time typing.

just like FR was important for MC, and NR is important for ZG and AQ. Frost resist is going to be fairly important when naxxramas comes out (speculation). if you read the interviews from various magazines and whatnot, tigole always mentions encounters with heavy frost damage.

I expect the argent dawn or some new faction will pop up in EPL that offers FrR gear quests and patterns all based on faction. maybe then AD faction will have a purpose.

anyway back to the point. this chest piece will be extremely useful for AQ, because that much NR is not a trivial amount.

True, but much as you may think you don't need it for ZG, it can't hurt (as long as you're not sacrificing an arm and a leg for it), and you definitely need it for AQ.

Looking at rates, u need atleast to kill these dragonstwice, and they are very hard to kill and find. my question is: Can dreamscales drop from other dragons?

I see a lot of discussion on the (now changed) breastplate itself being BoP, but what about the Dreamscales themselves?

I've yet to find any for sale on the AH (unsurprisingly), so I assumed they were BoP.

You only need this for a couple of the fights in AQ40... Primarly for the 15 "sponges" in the Huhu Fight.

i find it pretty tough to put a price on these things: they only come from skinning the green dragons (Ysondre, Taerar, Lethon, and Emeriss) who spawn at irregular intervals, require a 30-40 man raid, good enough experience and NR gear (for 2 of the drakes at least), and the hardest part on some server is actually making sure you get there first because these drakes have very good loot.. I know on my server, as soon as the drakes spawn, raiding guilds are on the look-out and they are taken down within half a day (especially Ysondre and Emeriss, who are generally considered easier than the other two).

So given how hard they are to get, I'd say 100g per scale sounds pretty cheap, though the scales have such limited use; but I'd have no idea how much to sell this stuff for anyway.. I guess it depends how bad you want them.

This is a world raid boss.

If you don't know how to kill this dragon, you aren't killing this dragon or any of the three others that spawn in this location, or any other.

The top guilds on your server check these dragons every thirty minutes, if they see it..they will be there with a full raid group within minutes and kill it before you could grab two friends.

That's just how these dragons work, they drop NR Gear and other items.

Exalted with Cenarion to get the pattern. Requires dragonscale leatherworking and the item you create is bop so only you can wear it. Blizzard .... wtf ?

This item does not just come from skinning the bosses, but also from skinning the trash mob dreamkin guards.
Is only used in one pattern however and you need to be Exalted with Cenarion Circle to get the pattern.
If you ever see these scales on the Auction Hall for anything more than 1 Gold each, you're being ripped off and would be much better off farming your own from the guards with a 5-man group of buddies from your guild in my opinion.

These dragons require lvl 315 skinning.

These Dragons can be 20 man, depending on the raid group.

You might be Ganked, on my guild we have a few that are readly to skin right as the last epic is taken off the body.
