Still a very good herb, Mountain Silversage is/was used for multiple flask recipes, for Major Healing Potions, and Elixir of Mongoose.

Before BC my best spot for it was Un'goro Crater. It grows in high, rocky areas. If you took the time to circle the outer edge of the crater you could have found a lot that way.
Another good spot is in Felwood; around the green oozy lake bridge, there is a rocky part north of it.

In BC, you can use Mountain Silversage for
Onslaught Elixir
Elixir of Major Strength
which still makes it quite a valuable plant. It grows all around Hellfire Peninsula and if you're lucky enough to have an epic flying mount, you can grab a lot of these in very little time. Spawn points are the usual high mountains and rocky zones so having a flying mount of any kind is a major advantage.

This herb is still used for "Flask of Supreme Power," which is still the top flask for casters, and will remain so after patch 2.1.

I an new to this Posting Board , so forgive me If ai do not Post correctly, I wanted to buy some Mountian Silverage in Goldshire from Lhara the point on the map shows just south of the town,

Well I looked every where and can not find Her, Has she Maybe been moved?

If she has can someone help me find her or the Mountain Silver age .

So after one circuit of Un'Goro, I found three Silversages and got seven actual pieces from them. It doesn't seem like much, but it's better odds than most places. Quick and easy.

The buyout price says 1g each, but on my server they usually sell for around 35-40g a stack.
I farm them in Un'Goro when I'm low on cash. If you start in Marshall's refuge and go around the outer perimeter, I usually have at least 3/4 a stack by the time I get back to the Refuge. Very easy to get to if you're high enough to not agro anything, but even then, there's usually not to many monsters around the plant.

Though no longer used at endgame, this is still quite a valuable herb for people trying to grind Alchemy, and it fetches a decent price (at least on my server) because there's hardly ever any on the AH, due to it being such a pain in the butt to find.

My advice, head to Hellfire Peninsula! I tried Felwood and Azshara (the two most plentiful places for it according to most guides I've seen), and my poor land mount was carefully picking its way around hugely complicated mountain paths, taking forever and hardly finding any.

In Hellfire Peninsula, I just happened to find several of these while searching for Dreaming Glory, as both grow in the mountains. Way too easy to just fly around the entire zone's border (which is pretty much ALL mountains) and swoop in when you find one. I'm suprised at how many grow here, since HP is generally recommended for just Felweed.

So, if you're trying to find this neat herb, Hellfire Peninsula is the place to go!

So far Un Goro Crater is the only place I have seen this. I didn't get any from the Bloodpetal's that I killed for the quest down there, but there are several places to gather them along the mountains in the crater.

there has to be better places to farm this than UnGoro. it took me 30min to get 10, and I don't know if that's good or bad, but it's not like farming blindweed in Swamp of Sorrows for sure!

Some of these locations are bugged. Most notably the Bernard the Mixer one. They also say sungrass is at stonetalon mountain and black lotus is at Ironforge. (like those one will be there for more than 30 seconds.)

if you want to get herbs just kill the fire guys and the herbs will be plentiful. i do a run for mt silversage 1 a day and get 40 just buy not giving up i ocuping my time killing the fire guys it is notthat hard but you need 300 herb to get them or get +5 herb to gloves

Un'Goro has it, plus other herbs.

And Felwood is the lowest-level zone in which this stuff's found.

Best bet's to set hearth to Everlook, then search Un'Goro northside and volcano, then hearth and check W.Spring. (Just don't do this on my server. Muhuhahah)

There's mountain silversage around the perimeter on the rocky parts of Hellfire Peninsula too.

Helps to have a flying mount to easily harvest it.

I just picked some Mountain Silversage up from a treasure chest found in the Winterspring Village of Furbolgs between two tents and some trees all the way to the East and a little south of Everlook.

ive been finding alot of this in HP but, of course, wanted to farm it a bit easier. Read the above posts and went to un'Goro where I found 2. In an hour. Luckily, I have a full pot of coffee here, so I'm not too pissy. I'm headed to Azshara. edit: oh, and this herb goes for 1g/@ on Skywall. Well worth farming.

I see it occasionally in Felwood, but its pretty rare.

I usually find 1 every few circuits of the place.

For herbalists, you need level 280 and this herb can be found in (in Azeroth)

Azshara
Burning Steppes
Eastern Plaguelands
Felwood
Un'Goro Crater
Western Plaguelands
Winterspring

The nodes for this herb all appear on hills.

I would agree with another forum member, the best place may be Winterspring and EPL (note, Winterspring is the "only" zone you can find Icecap). As with other high end herbs, MS does not spawn in any great density in any zone.

Once you get to Outlands, this herb is a tad more plentiful. Hellfire Peninsula has quite a few nodes.

For exemple, i sell 1 blackmouth oil (= 2 oily blackmouths) for 14 PA, and 1 single oily blackmouth for 35-50 PA, i guess it's "the law of the market"... But sometimes, you can sell a potion less than the flower itself, if you bought yor own stock at low cost. Sometimes i store 120+ of the same flower type, it helps to equilibrate if i need it and their cost is too high (and sometimes i sell part of my stock too, just in order to "break" the market) ^^

Pretty much i have noticed that if you run around the edge of the zone hence it being mountainous (re MOUNTAIN silversage) nearly any of the 55+ zone (ungoro, silithus, EPL, maybe even WPL, Winterspring) thats when i tend to find them

Winterspring is my favorite place to farm this. Scour the region from top to bottom and you'll usually find about a stack and a half...at least.
If you're having trouble there, the Burning Steppes is a pretty good place also.

I conquered the burning steppes for these, I died about 20 times to get a stack. So except about 1 death per herb.

I am still to find a really good spot to farm these i find them here and there in all the above locations but what really boggles me is how even though is hard to farm mountain silversage they sell the mongoose potion for so little! its so dumb... I think its better to just sell the herb itself in AH then to make the potion n sell, but then again this is what i see from my realm. it might b diffrent in others. :)

wowhead says you can get this in winterspring (classic WoW) but as of the time of this post I have yet to see a single spawn there. It may have used to be abundant but as of phase 2 of classic don't waste your time, only herb I see there is icecap.

I found what I needed in the Blasted Lands. As its name implies, Mountain Silversage is usually found near mountains. In particular I recorded the following waypoints :

One pass around Un'goro this morning turned up 14 Mountain Silversage, plus 6 Sungrass, 6 Golden Sansam & 4 Dreamfoil, and that's just along the perimeter. At 59, almost all of the mobs ignore you unless you run into them. There are Blindweed and other herbs in the center of the crater as well.
