If you are a shadow priest, you are probaly better off with this one because of the spirit, but other classes would prefer the increased damage, and + stamina from vexing.

As a healer i have completely ignored Intellect, and have gone out of my way to get spirit items. Very helpful in long battles as my mana regens so fast.

I have converted to Shadow Priest for gaining XP fast before i go Holy again. The thing with me is that i love it when the spirit taps work and you regenerates mana faster. Since i usally lack mana point after a fight, i want a quick and good boost when the TAP goes active.

This item aint that bad if you consider this. I also got Staff of Jordan and Staff of Sorrow. Nice addition anyway.

One question.. who drops the staff? Is it from Hakkar or one of the others? I haven't seen it come up during the egg quest. Anywhere i should look in particular?

This staff, as many people have psoted before me, is very useful. Stamina is very important for all caster classes, considering their initial lack of health and use of cloth. If you really want intellect you can enchant this staff. It would be worth your money considering you could possibly use this staff for quite awhile. Any caster who would take, for example Illusionary Rod or Zum'rah's Vexing Cane, (especially warlocks) does not have their priorities straight in my opinion. :P

As a priest, in one run I scored the "Vestments of the Atal'Ai Prophet", this staff which is wicked, and in the same kill also the featherskin cape - + I completed my priest quest when we downed morphaz so I got the Blessed Prayer Beads - AND when I turned in Jammal'ans head I also got brand new Rainstrider Leggings - 5 blue and very nice items in less than 2 hours work :)

I'm so annoyed, this dropped yesterday and I was the only mage in the party (no priests) so everyone else greeded this. I was about to need it and disconnected.

I am currently using this staff on my 59 balance druid. Very pleased with it. I switch it with Soulkeeper once in awhile.

This staff is great for me a holy priest since that the spirit means I can get mana back needed mana for vital heals and because of "Spiritual Guidance" (holy talent) I get +25% of my spirit as healing =)

Its hard to find a good weapon for casters. You want an item with stats. You also want one with spell damage.
The Spire of Hakkar covers both, and can be the best till you reach lvl 55 - 58. (with a intellect enchant recomended).

btw I am an 51 affliction lock. And +spell damage is even better for an affliction lock than destruction. So many DoT's.. inflicing the same +damage with each one. sickness. I take down at least 3 at a time in BG's with my +200 spell dmg. on my DoT's. even if I die.. they drop like flies soon after.. and so does any dispeller. (thank you unstable afflict.!)

It drops constantly in Sunken Temple. If your farming, and can't find it. stop. turn off your computer. try again tommorow. The odds on these items dropping change everyday for every player.

+ spell damage isn't better for an affliction lock than it is for destruction, or for any other caster for that matter.

just because you can't use crit doesn't mean you should be stealing spell damage items from other casters

that staff needs stamina!if it had stamina it would be good for warlocks but thats mainly a mge,priest,druid,or on the right occasions a hunter lol ive seen hunters with staffs but.the staffs theyy have always sucks,P.S.a better staff would be glowing brightwood staff if your loocking for mana anddd health

it doesnt matter hoe often it drops because you need the quest in order to summon the avatar... so you can't actually farm for it...

when I had the q it didn't drop, and now I can't find ppl with the quest so...

it just sucks

Is their a difference between Shade of Hakkar and Avatar of Hakkar? The reason I ask is because "Embrace of the Wind Serpent" epic cloth chest https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=12462/風蛇的擁抱 is listed as a drop from Shade of Hakkar but not Avatar of Hakkar. Are they two separte bosses or two separate names for the same boss. I have done the boss that you go upstairs and summon and kill. However after some research and reading posts ive learned that Shade of Hakkar is on the same floor as Eranikus and Jammal has to be killed before you can start the Shade of Hakkar event. Anyone who has valuable info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly i had been using illusionary rod since i can remember i got the one frm ZF but still preferred illusionary then this dropped i rolled only got a 4 and a lvl 56 mage rolled and got it to disenchnat it :( but luckily Glowing Brightwood Staff dropped randomly and i won the roll so pwned, This staff still rules enchant it with major or mighty intellect and u will be using it for a long time

Won this as priest mainly because nobody else wanted. As I was contemplating using it (orginally thinking of it as a grind or pvp weapon), I couldn't justify the loss of so much mana (compared to soulkeeper for pve and +3int enchanted illusionary rod for pvp (never could get the zf staff=/)). It did vendor 4g however. :)

im a mage i took this over ZF's cane. I think it is a fair trade. 3 spell dmg for +6 int and +6 stamina makes more sense to have this. more well rounded staff

Got this on my first ST run tonight, rolled a priest for it, I rolled a 16 then he rolled a 8. He ended up geting a decent wand later so he wasn't too disapointed. Only annoyance now is afer winning it, I tell a fellow druid and she links me the staff from the druid quest >.< Decisions!

I got this yesterday in ST. Its not bad but i think instead of 16 stamina and 16 spirit, it should be 16 stamina and 16 Int. well im a mage and thats my opion but the 18 spell damage aint bad i guess. so over all not the best staff but pretty good i think.

why get this over the cane out of ZF? +10 sta, +10intell, dmg/heals up to 21, much better staff then this, in lesser zone.
