If you are a CC class and there is only one other person at Gurubashi Arena you can easily CC them and take the chest as the chest has a fairly quick opening time.

If you're on a server in which lots of 60+ people go to Gurubashi every 3 hours then it would be smart to bring a group of friends who are willing to let you take it.

There are generally less people at the arena (sometimes even none) late night/early morning.

Just so everyone doesnt wait around all day, these events happen every 3 hours. 3am, 6am, 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, midnight

So we had an... interesting fight the other day, some 8 players fighting persistently for about 10-12 minutes. Then all of a sudden the chest despawned and everyone wondered who had won.

Never heard about a despawn time on that thing. Can someone confirm this?

well i don't know about despawning, however im a rogue, and i was stelathed next to the arena, and a lvl 80 mage was looking at people away from me as if to challenge them, and i walked up behind him in stealth and opened the chest, afterwars making a hasty retreat

If you are a twink and want to access the arena without an escort, I think the easiest way is as follows:

Horde: Orgimmar to Grom'Gol; jump off zep early and swim to coast near the arena. 4-5 Raptors will mob you, but then Spirit Rez at the arena and you're done.

Alliance: Assuming you have no FPs of use, die on purpose near Stormwind. Run, as a ghost, down the western coast of the continent until you reach the Arena. Go to the Spirit Healer on the east side. If you rez with her, you'll be teleported back to Stormwind, so log out first. The game doesn't record where your Spirit Healer was after you log back in. Now rez, and you're at the Arena.

Edit: I should mention that I HAVE managed to reach the arena without an escort on a 19 hunter twink. Swim from BB or GG to just west of the arena, run ashore with the raptors on you. Use your pet to pull as many as you can off, and run to an inside corner on the exterior arena wall. This evade bugs the raptors. You can find similar corners all the way around the south end, then jump through the last trees/hills to reach the ramp on the east side.

I just ninjad the chest there were 2 40s druids there I'm a 52 mage, they killed me once cause they kept running away and healing eachother I tried poly too late and got killed but then I ressed polyed one the other was fighting someone else and got the achievement :D. They started QQing in /w they said I got owned and stuff I said lol but I still got the trinket, my gear sucks and sometimes I get only 4fps and that's why they beat me the first time :D. I did it at 3am server time.

when i first entered the arena it was empty. then another player entered, we dueled, i won and then after that the chest appeared.

That would make sense, since my understand is that the chest goes to who wins the fight.. if there IS no fight, then there would be no reward. Can anyone confirm this? I walked in one time, but not when it was FIght time and it still did the PVP sword Icon.

As of 3.3, this achievement recognizes historical activity (so if you ever go this in the past, it'll now give you credit for the achievement). Sadly, the Arena Grand Master achievement hasn't received the same change.

This might seem like a no-brainer, but make sure you shift+right click when you open the chest. The chest contained more than just the trinket for me, and because I hadn't shift+right clicked, I had to click on each item to loot it. I luckily did this late at night, so there were only three other players in the arena, but I can see how not doing this simple thing might cost someone the achievement.

First time i went for this on my 80 shammy was the last time i went for this, I went in, seemed no one was there, i was alone up until the chest was placed, then out of no where this Relentless geared DK with Shadowmourne shows up (first time i've ever seen Shadowmourne in action) , thoroughly pwns me twice b4 taking trinket lol

Just got this as a level 59 Draenei Death Knight, next to a level 80 Troll Hunter and a level 80 Troll Rogue. They distracted each other long enough for me to take the trinket.

I just recently tried to go for the trinket on my warrior and it appears that the graveyard spawns you literally right outside the arena now as opposed to by Booty Bay where it used to. This makes it incredibly annoying to open the chest. Really bad change.

To all you naive Achievement Gatherers out there and the sorts, please do not take this to heart. Anybody worth his grain of salt will bring a PvP trinket of some sorts to this type of situation if they're just as serious as you about getting this achievement, and Humans have Every Man for Himself.

So while using a Crowd Control ability to obtain this is possible, it's very unlikely.
