An excellent talent for the Unholy DK.

Epidemic increases the duration of two of your diseases.
Crypt Fever is applied to any target with a disease and increases damage caused by diseases.
Ebon Plaguebringer further buffs your diseased targets.
Pestilence easily gets your diseases to nearby targets.
~~Annihilation (from frost) increases your melee critical strike, which increases the chance this talent will proc, and also lets you Obliterate without consuming your diseases.~~ No longer true. =(

And then this talent has a chance to cause 100% damage to another target, which is further modified by your talents, and doesn't break CC? Awesome, even post-nerf.

This talent says "When your diseases damage an enemy..." so i don't think this will work with Unholy Blight seeing how it's shadow damage as a buff on yourself and a dot on them. Now effected targets are considered diseased by the flies but aren't actually taking damage from that disease. In fact, even Ebon Plague (or Crypt Fever if you're not smart enough to pick up EP) doesn't actually deal damage as a disease.

In other words this talent will only effect the Blood Plague and Frost Fever diseases unless they decide to change Unholy Blight. However, this talent does appear to function properly and is a great damage increase for 3 talent points. Also worth noting, the 100% extra damage is considered a "crit", is a direct damage spell (unlike your FF/BP that are DoT's) and if you have any crit damage bonus modifiers they will benefit the damage dealt by wandering plague since it counts as a true crit (Chaotic Skyflare Diamond -- increases critical strike damage bonus by 3%).

After some testing at home i have confirmed that this is unable to be procced by Unholy Blight, the disease is merely a disease-debuff place holder, and serves no purpose other than to incrase the amount of diseases on your target (which in turn effects your other abilities, etc)...

Perhaps this talent works with Blood Boil, seeing how it reads "Causes any diseases on the target, and any target within 30 yds of that target, to painfully erupt dealing 117 shadow damage (at rank 4)." So it appears that this could also cause Wandering Plague to proc, based on the abilities description... the disease is apparently dealing the damage. I'll test this later as well.

EDIT -- after about 10 minutes of doing nothing but getting enough RP via non-disease causing abilities, casting Unholy Plague and casting Blood Boil repetitively i have come to the conclusion that Blood Boil does NOT proc wandering plague. Apparently the ability does not count the disease as doing damage, but blood boil doing the damage so that scraps that idea. The tooltip for Blood Boil is obviously a little misleading lol...

There's actually a hidden cooldown on this talent. It can only proc once a second IIRC, no matter how many mobs are actually infected with diseases.

I wonder if 3 points of Wandering Plague could be better than 3 points of Rage of Rivendare in arena fights?
Serennia's current build chooses WP but I think since RoR is deeper in the talent tree it must be reasonable.

I'm pretty sure this Talent would work in an extremely good synergy with Extract of Necromantic Power the way I've understood it.

Say, if the Disease would tick for 100 damage and the Trinket procced it'd be (up to) some 1300 more damage.

Here we stand with ~1400 damage on a Disease tick, which is pretty good. But if Wandering Plague were to proc on this tick. We'd have ~2800 damage in an 8 yards AoE.

That is the sole reason that I argue that I ought to roll on this lovely trinket (note I said roll, not that I belongs to Death Knights!).

I just respecked a day ago, (17,0,54) and took 3 points in Wandering Plaque. I now notice that from time to time a ball of energy shoots out from my character sort of like a fireball. Is this from the Wandering Plaque? The problem is, I have no direct control of it, and it sometimes happens a split second after I am finished fighting, and it attacks a nearby target I am not yet ready to engage!

If this is the Wandering Plaque, any suggestions on how to control the situation I describe?

It has an 8 yard range so its going to be dicey in some situations, the best thing to do is to pull your target back some in order to allow the gap like any aoe ability

The main problems with this talent is that the damage is uncontrollable and will hit anything within 8yards. This includes any mob, neutral or hostile, critters and players.

However, the talent is not subjected to resilience, making it excellent for both PvP and PvEdps.

Anyone understand what the recent change means? "Properly reset after being cast"? I'm assuming cast means when it procs, and properly reset means... the cooldown wasn't correct? I can't tell if this is a buff or nerf.

Does this hit stealthed targets too? It says 'Ignores any target under the effect of a spell that is cancelled by taking damage', but I don't think stealth is considered a spell.

From a DK tank perspective, I'd love it if this was changed to 33/66/100% chance to deal additional damage relative to your critical strike chance to nearby targets, so a disease doing 300dmg/tick would deal an additional 30 to all nearby targets for a dk tank with 10% crit chance.

The total damage output would be the same, but the threat generated would be far more predictable.

Besides, when I spec unholy dps with this talent, the threat it sometimes produces for large pulls (with many consecutive procs early in the fight) sometimes actually makes me rip aggro from our pala tank :-/

So yes, it's awesome for aoe, but it's not an unmixed blessing.

Wandering Plague is more or less useless against one enemy, but gets better as you gather more enemies. While this makes sense, the effect is much more pronounced than you might expect. I'll withhold my judgement on this talent until I can gather more complete data, but I'm definitely considering dropping this talent. For three points, it's just not worth it in an already bloated tree.

I can't see how this is increasing my damage, when i'm testing it on 3 lvl 80 non-elite target dummies, pestilencing the diseases over them, wandering plague plague procs for 1 dmg on all of them...
In a total amount of 2,5M dmg done, pestilence has done 300 dmg.
I feel like I'm missing something important since like this - it's totaly useless.
I'd appreciate any1 explaining why this talent is worth taking.

The name of this spell is probably a reference to the 1936 film Things to Come by H. G. Wells in which a plague called the "wandering sickness" is spread through a post-apocalyptic landscape.
