This is one of the best new Shadow talents aside from Twisted Faith so far in the Beta. It gives great use to an otherwise pure PvE spell (Fade dispels Hamstring, Crippling Poison, Wing Clip, Curse of Exhaustion with this) and addresses one of the most oustanding and irritating core problem of shadowpriests: spell pushback.
It is the knowledge that not every pathetic small strike against the Priest will halve the duration of channeling or push back so much time that it was better to just not try. Martyrdom doesn't proc on spells, and it takes a crit or resilience'd hit which still causes spell pushback before Martyrdom is active. That has always been an issue, and now it's ameliorated with a good traditional 70% passive talent. It's a good job realizing what is most needed on Blizzard's part--along the same line of reducing the ranged dead zone to 5 yards.
This means:

Easier time mind controlling, fewer half-duration mind controls because the thing you're recontrolling hit you AFTER you charmed it (the same problem Rogues have with people auto attacking them out of Vanish)
Easier time channeling mind flays when grinding normal mobs (no more having half the spell canceled every time because Martyrdom isn't proccing)
No more 5-second Vampiric Touch in PvP because of strings of normal hits.
Resistance against spellcasters pushing back (ridiculous Arcane Missile pummeling making any cast 3x longer)
Excellent synergy with Concentration Aura, though spell pushback resistances less than 100% never add to 100%.
Ability to get close/away from PvP and PvE targets through two consecutive, controllable dispels (PvP trinket)

Your Fade ability now has a 100% chance to remove all movement impairing effects when used while in Shadowform, and reduces casting or channeling time lost when damaged by 70% when casting any Shadow spell while in Shadowform.

Reading this, it seems to me that the spell pushback resistance is only active while fade is.
I could be wrong about that, but when looking at gramatically correct english, that is what is said.
Wonder if it's just a badly worded tooltip (and name of the talent), or if it's really just that useless.
Well, useless might be putting it a bit extreme, as a nearly free snare-removal every 30th second or so, is just fine in itself.

This talent is really usefull in PVE too. Consider Reliquiary of Souls 2nd phase. With this talent it will be really easier to do some damage with no interrupting from your Dots. And i think in Wotlk the raid will take a lot more dmg beacause almost all healers are getting AOE heals and Hots so this will be nice talent.

When you use fade you lose all movement impairing effects, when you are in shadow form.

So you are completly free to move.
On the other side.

When casting a spell:
The first and second hit will add .5 secs each to the cast time.
All hits after the second will have no effect.

When you get hitted you don't got 70% to not be interrupted. on a cast on the first instead you lose only 0.15 sec. so that would be 0.3 on 2 hits, and that's not much if you take it.

When channeling a spell:
The first and second hit reduces current duration by 25% of total duration each.
All hits after the second will have no effect.

this would be like 7.5% on the first and in all 15% on both hits. that would maybe be one mind flay dmg instead of the hole one in the regulair wow.

so let's say it like this. if you not use fade it would still work to get the 70% because it doesn't say anything about "while in fade it reduces casting or channeling time lost when damaged by 70% when casting any Shadow spell" so i think it would work without fade.

and i can confirm what i just said. because i was on the PTR with this talent, and yes Mind flay can crit if you wondered.

Edit: Why did i get downranked? i just say that, the 70% is from the amount you get hitted, and not the chance you won't get interrupted.

Are you sure? Because, as a Paladin, with Spiritual Focus (70%) and Concentration Aura (35%), my heals will never ever be interfered with by spell pushback. Silence and Interrupt and all that still work, but I can have a thousand million mobs attacking me, and I'll still get off a 1.5s FoL

Given that this talent provides the same effect as Spiritual Focus for Shadow spells, while in Shadowform, if the priest is in a group (or raid in WotLK) with a Paladin with Concentration Aura up, they will not be affected by spell pushback at all.

It's an additive percentage, not a multiplicative one

Very good in pvp for the moviment impairing effects, but whit the 3.0.2 spell-pushbacks changes, i think the other effect is almost useless in PvE...

I was wondering if this "improved fade" gets rid of daze debuffs. I'm assuming it does, but I can't find the information anywhere. If anyone has/could test this, I'd really like to know

I initially took this talent thinking in pre-Wrath terms that I might be able to get off Mind Flays without any pushback (when lucky). When it seemed every MF was being pushed back, I remembered the changes they made for the expansion.

This talent reduces the pushback time by 70%. For channeled spells, each hit removes 25% of the channeled time up to a maximum 2 hits. This talent reduces those to 7.5% time lost up to 15% maximum time lost. While this isn't a lot of time lost, there's no way to control when you will take a hit. There's still a good chance the small time lost will cost a tick of the spell.

Bottom line: useless in solo PvE.

I mean, I'm expecting this is the same with trinkets were you can escape from stuns. But every time I get stunned by pally, the fade won't work as what I expect it to be.

The part following the "and" is a dependent clause, because it's missing a subject. Good sentences should be self-contained enough that it should be clear what the implied subject should be. In this case, it's not grammatically obvious whether the subject is the same as the subject in the first clause, or to the context, i.e. the talent.

I think the main reason that you would conclude that the implied subject is not "Fade" is because you understand enough about the game that the opposite meaning would render the talent ridiculously useless. But that only goes to show the writing was unclear in the first place.

Does anyone know if using the fade ability to remove movement impairing effects (gained with this talent) shares cooldowns with PvP trinkets which do the same such as the medallions?
