Use this spell when you are guarding flags and you shouldn't get surprised by a rogue. Works wonders with the speed boost boots that are in AB. Pop Perception and grab the boots and have 10 seconds of rogue treasure hunting.

A racial ability for human that increases there stealth detection in 20 sec and have 3 min cooldown. This is good for pvp especially when u fighthing a stealth opponent.

I don't think it plays too much of a factor in Rogue duel, although it has its advantages. But as casters, its pretty viable. You can do similar things for longer amounts of time with Cat's Eye Elixirs as well as goggles. But it is definitely useful.

honestly I think it's mostly worthless. It only lasts for 20 seconds and you never know when you might need to turn it on. Maybe if it worked for a few minutes or something...

For those curious of the exact number, I believe that the spell makes you considered 10 levelshigher when making the stealth detection checks, Master of Deception (for comparison) make the rogue considered 3 levels higher if maxed, and beign a night elf grants an additional 1. All and all, very ueful in theory, but like others already stated, if you don't know the rogue is there, you don't know when you need to use it, and if you're fighting a good rogue, you won't know they're there until it's too late to pop this.

Stealth Detection
as of patch 2.1

5 points of stealth detection raises your stealth detection by 1 level. So a level 70 player with 10 points of stealth detection can see stealthed targets as if he were a level 72 player.

Stealth works the same way. 5 points of stealth raises your effective stealth by 1 level. Rogues and druids can both spend talent points to get 15 points of increased stealth, raising their effective stealth by 3 levels.

The most stealth detection you can achieve is to be a human rogue, grouped with a warlock who has a felhunter out, wearing Catseye Ultra Goggles, drinking an Elixir of the Searching Eye, and using your racial Perception. This will get you a total of 119 points of stealth detection. However, the effect of vanish is as follows:

This really helps in arena and in duels.
So does it help in outdoor PvP and few last mobs in SH.

It has so many uses, the best racial imho. :)

I think it is most benefical for mages, pop it in duel and you can cast frost nova just at right moment and blink away. ^.^

I say this racial should be passive. Just give humans great Stealth Detection.

When you think about it, it's no worse than giving Orcs Stun Resist, or giving Undead Fear Immunity.

I can't even express how many times this has come in handy in the arena. If there's a stealthed rogue or druid coming for me, with perception on they appear far enough away for me to charge/demo shout them immediately. Similarly, a mage can use arcane explosion to "rat out" the attacker, etc.

Also very nice when guarding the flag in WSG. :)

This is a reason for a human warlock against rogues because locks have no instant fear or anything along those lines.

This skill finds itself very prominent usage in Arena, specifically 2v2; if you see only one person, charge 'em and pop this.

I like using it as a Shadow Priest though, Step 1 is detect and Step 2 is psychic scream = a screwed-over rogue :P

Good skill, but not the best, by far.

This increases your detection by 10 levels (or close to that). Which means, if you're level 50 and a level 60 Rogue is prowling around (the Rogue doesn't have Master of Deception and isn't a Night Elf), turning this on means you will be able to see them if they come within 5-10yds of you. If you're level 60 and using this, you'll be able to see any Rogue/Druid that comes within 5-10yds of you (unless they use Vanish and have Master of Deception).

This racial ability is not for someone who is level 50 looking for a level 60. It can be used that way but it is meant to look at an equal battle where a player is looking for stealthed enemy. If you are even level, you will have the advantage of seeing him by about 10 levels higher. Now, let's say you are a warlock with a felhunter. Their ability increases detection by 30. If you are in arena and you must find a rouge, you might as well put on the cat's eye goggles which increase detection by 9. This brings the total to 89 or as if you were detecting at almost 18 levels higher. Incase someone will ask, YES this does stack. Happy hunting! Oh, and God I wish I wasn't a gnome.

As i play a (horde) rogue myself all i can say is: Perception is awesome if used in the right situation.

In arena play for example people know that someone is stealthed if they see only 4 players - use perception late because a good rogue will in most cases wait for you to pop it.

Additionaly especially as a priest you can just fear when he is close to you. Of course, you have to blow an important cooldown, but you hinder the rogue from using one of his unique advantages...: Being able to control a player from start to finish.

Besides: Personally i would say that alliance racials are way superior to the horde pendants... Shadowmeld, Escape Artist, Stone Form are more useful than warstomp, berserk or blood fury - at least for pvp. Not to mention the dwarf priest ability... But well, i do not want to miss Will of the Forsaken

I believe you had this the minute you clicked submit on creating your lvl 1 character. You have either gone 58 lvls without using this ability or your not human and dont have this ability. Either way I am sorry.

na i say the best rouge is a undead one, first of the can cancel fear, then they can canibleize for around 35% of there health, and they can breath under water 300% longer than a normal one can, which is a great way to excape some one if ur vanish isnt ready.... but this move is cool and all, but ill stick with the undead

As a rogue, if I had to pick the best racial for my class, I have to say perception. However, this just fits my playstyle the best. I like AV bg more than anything. When a bunker/tower is cap, you can pretty much know how many stealths are inside just by using this racial.
