The chest can be found on the biggest island of three just west of the whiskey jug.

I picked the shirt just because it is one of a kind, you dont see many people with it.

This may sound a little bit silly, but hang on to Captain Sander's Shirt (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=3342) if you're into fishing. Why? Because it's one of the most styling shirts you can wear while fishing.

What? You don't have a fishing outfit yet? ;-)

This all started with Draznar's Fishing FAQ (http://wow.toshimo.com/viewtopic.php?t=272). In the FAQ, he highlights some of the more fashionable fishing items you can wear. When the addon "Fishing Buddy" (http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1095) came out, he gave style points based on Draznar's Fishing FAQ. So if you want to maximize your "style points", then you'll want to hang onto this shirt.

Does this really DO anything for your fishing? No, but it is fun and makes fishing a little more interesting. :-)

I found the Locked Chest at 25, 16. It is on the middle and largest island of a cluster of 3 islands in the sea. The cluster is kind of far out from the beach. The Chest is in front of the shack. I have submitted a screenshot.

LOL!! This is not the only "Both" quest in Westfall. As a Tuaren Warrior I made a few lvls out in Westfall.

For Horde: Check with the Ghost near the Lighthouse for more quests.

For Alliance: Talk to the Goblin not far from the Gates of Org to recieve a "Both" quest chain. Bewarned! It's for low lvl toons and gives SteamWheel Rep.

As stated in previous posts, it is next to a log. Head northwest past Jangolode Mine, and you'll see a tattered windmill. Behind the windmill is the log, which the jug rests next to.

Please dont rate because i'm trying to post for every quest in the game so i won't have trouble later leveling my alt's

You can throw away all the clue items you get with each part of the chain after you're done, these are of no value other then RP.

really awfull droprate:) farmed those murlocs for 45 minutes to get it , with my 70 mage.complete genocide... but i got a non-ordinary shirt for my char:):)

For Horde who happen to be in the area doing this quest line, there are 3 other quests in the area that can also be done by Horde, but which are indicated as Alliance only on Wowhead:

They are:

and can be found from Captain Grayson at the Westfall Lighthouse (30.1, 85.9).

These quests double up quite nicely with Captain Sander's questline.

Edit: The quests are now indicated as doable by both Horde and Alliance.

Lmao, I just did Old hillsbrad and was wanderin' about when I seen these two pirates talking in SS. I followed em out to their boat and one had a locked chest on it, and it was the exact one as this. xD Or so he said. I'm a lock, so I didn't get to open it. :C

When u have completed all the 3 items and you have to find chest.
Go straight down the beach and you will see the boat next to an island.
Swim past that and there are 3 small island beyond. the chest is there to complete the quest.

I also cannot open the chest, the cursor does not change when I mouse over it, and I am at 25, 16 staring at a brown chest on the ground in front of a shack. Level 20 NE Druid. The quest has disappeared from my quest log (unknown if it went away when I got the last clue, or when I reached the island).

I found the treasure chest right after finding the map - I think off a murloc - can't remember. Anyways, sucks that you can't skip any steps when you're staring at the trasure already :)

I completed the quest at lvl 15 and got the same rewards, except that my sash was red. The quest is worth it for the XP, for the "pirate outfit" and for the sheer coolness of it :) More treasure hunts like these, please!

And my map dropped of 13 lvl Murloc on the north coast after 5 minutes of hunting for eyes. If it doesn't drop for you, it means statistics is at work ;)

This quest is multi-stepped.

Step 1: Upon receiving the map the first thing I had to find was Captain Sander's Footlocker. Loc 25,47 - just SW of Gold Coast Quarry next to rusty anchor.

Step 2: Find and old barrel near a burned out chimney. The barrel is located at 40,47 right along the road next to a broke piece of fence.

Step 3 - Search the empty jug next to the windmill for the next clue. The windmill is west of Jangolode mine at Loc 40,17 sitting on some junk.

Step 4 –Last step - Locate Captain Sanders' chest and open it for your reward. The chest is on the middle island NW of the Jangolode mines. Right next to a small building at Loc 26,17 and it is labeled "locked chest". I did not see any Mobs around the shack or on the island.

I received 8 silver, a Silver Bar...
an 8 slot Soulbound Unique bag called Captain Sander's Booty Bag
a soulbound shirt called Captain Sander's Shirt
a soulbound green sash (waist), 16 ac, 2 sta, 2 spir, 18/18 dur, cloth called Captain Sander's Sash.

The first island I hit going due west was that little lump that the ship with all the Murlocs is beached on. I thought maybe they looted the treasure. A nice way for a 22 rogue to get in over her head (*&^%ing swarming fish faces). But I'll turn on the map coords and swim out farther for those 3-in-a-row islands.

EDIT: Yes, you have to swim abt 2 minutes out from the boat, a little to the south of due west.
The reward is fixed in the quest completion box. The stuff vendors for abt 5s total. Do this in your teens, or forget it.

Alliance Herbalists can get some strangleweed around the island and the Murloc infested ship. We can use a 20-stack for the Ahn-Quiraj tasks (1.9 patch activity).

As others have said, the windmill is directly west of Jangoload Mine. It's NOT the windmill near the quarry with all the Defias wandering around. It's easy to find the jug at the other windmill. From there, go to the beach and swim out past the shipwreck. You'll see three islands, the chest is on the middle island in plain sight. I got six silver, a bar of silver, a shirt, a red sash. and 1150 exp at lvl 20 rogue. Very fun quest and worth it!

the loc is 25,16.

for those of you who have no loc system, in the map you see 3 islands in a row deep in sea in the north west part. is the big one, in middle of the 3.

you can climb up to it for the south side.

Standing upon it my coordinates are exactly (25.97,16.91). The chest is very easy to see, on the largest of the islands, well beyond the shipwreck at the shoreline.

I'm looking at you, Camisa do Capitão Albernaz, a flavoursome shirt which is nice to wear when crafting or hanging around or, damn it, whooping old Ragnaros.

Faixa do Capitão Albernaz was not remarkable for me as it duplicated the stats of an item I'd already obtained while questing elsewhere. But it added flavour, class and swagger to my toon so I of course equipped it.

But Saco de Butim do Capitão Albernaz is a precious 8 slot bag! With silver at short supply while I level up my skills and engineering at the same time, the extra two slots are very welcome over my standard "two silver" linen six slot bags and all other quest reward and zone drop bags to this stage.

When you're done, feel free to throw out Uma Pista para o Tesouro do Albernaz, Outra Pista para o Tesouro do Albernaz, Pista Final para o Tesouro do Albernaz to make even more room in that new beautiful 8 slot bag.

If you're extremely tight on bag space and don't have room for all the rewards from the quest, you can safely destroy all of the map clue pieces before pressing "complete". You'll still be able to successfully turn in the quest.

Sure enough, deep within the Old Jug there is another clue to Sanders' treasure. The ink has run in some places and the paper smells like whiskey but you can make out some of the text: Now that ye found me ol' whiskey jug, you're almost to the treasure! Just face West from the bottle and walk down to the shore. Once ye get to the water, keep going! Swim straight west till you find the island with me treasure chest!
