The camp @ 42,12, has boxes with prisonners. Kill grimtotem mobs to get keys, drop rate around 1/2

The entrance to the encampment is located at 45,18. Kill the Grimtotems as you work your way to the back of the camp. You can easily pull most as singles, watch for patrols that come in two's. There are about 2-3 patrols that wander.

Drop rate on keys aren't the greatest, but it's not too horrible either. Took me about 20 minutes to gather up the 5 keys. Also take note they keys are placed into your keyholder ring, not into your backpack.

Prisoners are located along the perimeter of the camp, usually beside the tents, if you stick too this side you hardly draw agro.

This one was almost too easy. The 3 guards at the entrance all dropped one key each, as did the roving patrol. After that, it was up the right flank, where there are two tents across from one another, with a cage next to each.

After I killed the guard at the first cage (who also dropped a key), I moved across to the other cage, and released that prisoner. A guard came by and interrupted me, and by the time I was done with him...The cage on the other side (that I had opened not 2 minutes before) had re-spawned another prisoner, but not a guard.

Went back and forth a couple of times, and that was that. (I've noticed that everything in the Grimtotem village seemed to re-spawn pretty quickly, for some reason. Your mileage may vary.)

Just wanted to add to the above. This quest is really good to do with a total of 3 others:

This was ridiculously easy as a 39 ret pally, though I'd suggest not pulling the spirit-shifters unless you need to to do Unleash the Raptors. At the windmill, they are in a pack of 2, and I wasn't able to single-pull them. They summon 2 adds each with low health. Two consecrates and a bubble + heal was enough to take care of them when I was doing it. I could see that being really annoying for other classes though.

Ah, the "Hey, I didn't know I had a keyring!" quest. They don't go into your bag. Took me forever to find them the first time, even though you just have to click on the cage.

This was too easy for my 36 paladin. And you only have to make it into camp to the first cage. When I sat down to drink, the prisoner almost reappeared instantly and I was able to open the same cage again. I did the one cage for all 5 prisoners.

Not a very good quest if you are short of time.

Took me ages. The drop rate for the keys was about 1/4.

Not that it takes any amount of time to get an extra key, but as a warning, don't spam open two cages. I had my last two and positioned myself so i didn't have to move to unlock two cages. Apparently there's some sort of cooldown before you can open the next cage or it doesn't count for the quest.

I'll tell you one thing, don't die, cause you have to ghostrun all the way from Theramore if you do.
Otherwise, easy enough to pull one by one, except the ones round the windmill, who also has "spirit guides" in the shape of wolves as adds.

The keys will drop from the grimtotems.
I dont think the drop rate suxx, i got more than enough of them!

Here's a good strategy. Stay near the cage at 42,11. Kill the things that come near, get the key and free prisoner. Pretty simple if you stay at that same cage.

I get the key and free prisoner, but the prisoner doesn't move ...plz help me with this quest, i cant do it, i don't know why because the prisoner doesn't move.

The village is directly right from the quest giver. You'll see a bunch of raptors and an escort quest giver before you hit the village. I solo'd this as 37 NE Hunter, way too many mobs and they tend to group together so it's difficult to pull one. Best option would be to hut the mountain wall on the right until you see a cage, kill if you have too but wait until the pat moves on and release the prisoner. Back up a bit and wait about 1-2 mins for the prisoner to respawn, rinse and repeat. If you don't have any keys, then you need to pull some and hope it drops for you. The drop rate was good for me, about 70% or so. I was about to get the first 2 keys from the 1st five kills then that last 3 keys from the last 3 I killed.

i am a lvl37 hunter BM spected what i did when facing more then one is i set the explosive trap then brought the enimies into the trap attaked for about 30seconds then feinged death then multi shoted and used spells

Prisoners of the Grimtotems

It's actually really easy if you do it the right way:

I started out just collecting the first 3 armaments, sneaking and punching my way to them, no big deal. While doing this, i made sure to loot every corpse, so that i would get as many keys to release the prisoners as possible. This is done by killing the Breakers (gave me the best drop ratio). As i moved further into the village, i made sure to pull only 1 mob at a time, to not draw too much attention. I went for the Elders and Breakers only, not those Shape-Shifters (when having killed these, 2 wolves will show, but only with very limited HP, about 50 maybe). The Elders drop the "Battle Note"s, which you will need to do the Confirming the Suspicion quest. 4 of these are required, and you can then create the Battle Plan needed.

Release the prisoners as you move further into the village, with the windmill as your goal.
The prisoners in the cages respawn fairly quickly, so you dont have to run to all the cages in the village to release the prisoners, just do the same ones a couple of times until you have released 5.

Now having collected the Armaments (which also respawns quickly), the Battle Plan
and having released the prisoners, all that is left is the raptors.

Spend a little while checking out the Breakers' routes, as this is important for you not to be noticed, planting the raptorbait. Move up on the south/souteastern side of the windmill, so it lines up in the middle of the two Elders at it. Move forwad one step at a time, until you can plant the bait. Do it carefully, as you might pull the two elders doing so.

When you are near enough, plant the bait, the raptors will come running, attacking the Grimtotems, and giving you some sort of cover going out.

Done easily with a 37 Retri pally

Total: 15,200 XP - Not too bad, I must say..!

You will see prisoners at around 41, 12...You can do this quest with "Unleash the Raptors". Key need to be drop from mobs @ Blackhoof Village.

The Blackhoof Village entrance is around 44, 17. The prisoners are in cages further into the village. {The first one I saw was at 41,13.} You have to kill the Breakers, Spirit-Shifters, and Elders {lvl 37ish} to get keys to free the prisoners. {Drop rate for me was about 1 in every 3-4 kills.}

Can also complete Unleash The Raptors while you're there. {41,12} :)

We're doing all we can to keep the Grimtotem raiders at bay, but they keep launching assaults on the tower. Even worse, they've managed to discover and capture the patrols the captain sends out to gather information and safeguard the road.

I suspect the captives are being held in Blackhoof Village, to the northwest. Knowing the Grimtotems, the defenders of the village probably carry the keys to the prisoners' cages with them. I don't care what you have to do, <class>, just bring back my men alive.
