"...There is a history of the Classic community being vocally against the idea of automated groups and cross-realm features..."...WHAT? Everyone I know was waiting for the dungeon finder to finally show up, to save time on meaningless often hourly matching people ... what a nonsense and a mistake.....0/10....I hope you will do a real poll where each player will be able to vote and you will see how many people have been waiting for the dungeon finder in wotlk...
A very important fact that a lot of comments haven't mentioned.. Dungeon Finder wasn't added until Patch 3.3 anyway, which was pretty late into Wrath. https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_3.3.0
What is wrong with you fools? We wanted an authentic classic experience with no changes at all.. no adding stuff, no taking away stuff.. your community wanted vanilla and tbc to not have dungeon finder.. we didn't say anything about wrath.. stop arbitrarily making changes and just give us a faithful recreation ffs. It's really simple. The -only- acceptable changes would have been QoL changes to make it better with the exception of lfr, keep that far away. Classic + was highly demanded and you ignored us in favor of making seasonal realms instead, so why screw with wrath? Stop working against the classic community and pretending that you are giving us what we want.
It kind of perplexes me how classic players almost revel in making things unnecessarily harder for themselves.LFG only added convenience. You still can, and have always been able to, find groups just like the old days by spamming in trade chat. If you choose to ignore that fact and use LFG despite "not wanting to use it," then that's 100% on you and you alone. No one is stopping you from spamming in chat for groups except for maybe your own insecurity and anxiety.
Disagree with this change I hate LFR, but i love LFD. I have bad anxiety finding groups in TBC Classic. I was hoping they would release it at the start of the expansion. Now im upset.
The hypocrisy of wow players is quite something!
Anyone who wants to sit in LFG chat for hours has no life, really bad change, this ^&*! is not wotlk.
We WANT LFD for Wrath.
This will just further the mega server issue. People abandoning low pop servers because they cant ever find healers or tanks which is the whole reason group finder was added. Between the faction imbalance them needing to have enough servers to handle the initial influx of players which then rapidly dies down to about 2 servers worth of players... Though most people who play classic are of the similar mindset that guild play and social interaction are more important than convenience. Not saying group finder doesnt have its flaws. But its a double edged sword on the one hand you have LFD where no one feels connected to each other or needs to give a damn about the other plays. they make a mistake or do low dmg? just kick em who cares..... But on the other end you have all the try hards which made me just disgusted with the concept of mythic+ to the point of not even playing it. Not that I was undergeared or skilled for it just the attitude the player base has of wanting easy runs so only letting in people who have a higher ilvl than you would even be able to obtain in the run itself. I have an older school mindset of hey we got 40 people in here we can afford to carry a few to help them get geared. Hell i got invited into my vanilla wow guild just because i was a dwarf priest and they took me into MC at 58 because they needed fearward that badly
Mmm, the sweet salty tears of badly behaving LFG players. They're so sweet, they sustain me!
Blizzard is out of touch once again. Terrible decision. When Dungeon Finder released it was received to rave reviews. Do a Google search for "Dungeon Finder" and add "Before:2010" (Dungeon Finder came out December 2009 with patch 3.3.0) and you'd be hard pressed to find complaints about it.It was NOT Dungeon Finder in it's same-server form that eroded the community. If anything it gave it another gasp of air at the time as you were meeting new people from your server you ordinarily wouldn't have interacted with. (Mostly people who no longer had time to stand around in Dalaran and beg for a group.)It wasn't until the tool went cross-server that the erosion began. Because at that point you really were playing with complete strangers you'd never see again.
im convinced none of you played in wotlk"When Dungeon Finder released it was received to rave reviews. "no it wasnt lol
The typical classic community is weird. They want a pure classic exp because LFD is anti social? You literally whisper a mage: INV and afk till lvl 70.You rather pay a lvl 70 boost?New people that want to level first are screwd if they wanna try low lvl dungeons. At least enable LFD tool till lvl 70 at launch. Later in the expansion enable on 80.
Worst announcement of the announcement.
