Good on him to do that. I'm disgusted that these policies exist especially if to undeservedly give a bad review.
Thing is, this isn't just a Blizzard problem or even a tech/silicon valley thing; it's in many industries and even the arts. Which really kind of defeats the point of teamwork. Sure there will always be someone who is better than others in a given situation, but if everyone's putting in the best effort forward, there's no need to punish those who are "under-performing".
ranked stacking is an awful system and he undeniably did the right thing by standing up against it. huge respect to him and I hope he lands a job at somewhere better.
Wow that is so !@#$ed up. Imagine every employee looking around at everyone else for someone they can destroy and force them into a lower evaluation than themselves. The old saying goes "I don't need to be fast, I just have to outrun the other guy." That's a GREAT way to get performances UP! @#$%^s at the top.
That last tweet though, wow.
God Speed Brian thank you being a good human and standing up for and sticking by what you believe is right good guy Brian wish nothing but the best for you fam hope to see you doing something new soon or hopefully blizz changes but Im not gonna hold my breath on that
-> Policy implemented by ABK <-Remember this when anyone tries to claim Activision has no influence on nor has any detrimental effect on Blizzard. Because for some reason, despite all the evidence to the contrary, some people are still in HARDCORE denial about this. I actually argued with someone a couple weeks ago claiming that the only hand Activision had in the company was handing out the paychecks.Activision is a cancer with a money-sucking parasite at the head who will gleefully destroy your favorite game even on the chance it'll make slightly more money in the short term before it's s run into the ground. And if you don't believe that look up his quotes about "taking all the fun out of making video games" as one of his goals, and that if he could get away with charging $250 a game he would.
How many times are we going to let these corporate vampires plunge their fangs into these good people? When is someone going to put a stake in the vampires?
'A Blizzard spokesperson said the company's employee evaluation process was designed to facilitate "excellence in performance" and "ensure employees who don't meet performance expectations receive more honest feedback, differentiated compensation, and a plan on how best to improve their own performance."'But, if they are being given Excellent performance reviews by those actually/directly in charge of them, then they are clearly doing their job as intended and probably dont need that 'performance improvement plan' that corporate thinks they need.Everyone can improve, even those who are best of the best, but that doesnt mean you need to fabricate false performance reviews to 'inspire' people to get better.
Lol, sorry man, that sucks, but hey this is exactly how some branches of the military work as far as evals go as well.. lol.. will it ever be fixed.. probably not in my time of service.
"requires a certain number of employees to be given low reviews in order to create a bell curve"That is so evil, what? I don't understand the purpose of such an evil practice.
can classic just die now ?
Completely expected from modern age Blizzard. They literally deserve all the crap which is happening to them right now in China and everywhere else. Pathetic trash company. Thx god there are people who is already developing D4 private server, won't have to support such @#$%ty practices with my money.
I am not shocked to see Wowhead commenters defending Blizzard over this, even bringing DF into it.The company we loved is GONE. IT IS NOT COMING BACK. ACCEPT THIS AND MOVE ON.
