I am the MT, and in our runs, i've never used Arcane Resist gear... Never needed it. The reduction in defense/dodge/block and all that fun stuff, would hurt more than the damage of +45 resist. Now, it will be used later on, but not on curator.

Surprised no one mentioned this, but this is also useful now for the Vexallus fight in Magister's Terrace. Mainly just for the tank, but also for anyone sucking up the Pure Energy that can't manually remove the debuff.

This is a useful trinket for some of the Sunwell Plateau bosses, at least while learning. Resisting some of Kalecgos' arcane buffets can be the difference between a wipe and a kill, and arcane resist can help you survive Felmyst's encapsulates.

Seeing as nobody has said it before, the most straightforward way to get to him (for Alliance players) is a portal to Ironforge from a kind mage and then a flight path to Southshore; if you do not have the flight path, you're up for a bit of a trip through Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, Arathi Highlands, culminating in Alterac Mountains.

Another option would be finding a group doing Shadowfang Keep, Scarlet Monastery or Scholomance. That way you can get summoned relatively close.
