The Cauldron Lord should be close by, I recommend doing a /target once you get close.

After you get cauldron contents just head back the Chillwind to turn in.

This is a fairly simple quest, all you have to do is follow the road north from Chillwind camp then once you get to Andorhal , follow the path that goes north and it will take you Felstone Field.

There around the cauldron you will find the Cauldron lord(I have provided a screenshot for reference), he is fairly easy to kill just make sure you don't attract the other undead mobs.

Once you have killed him and grabbed the key walk up to the cauldron and right click on it , take it from there and head back to Chillwind.

This quest ends up being a long chain(9 part) make sure to pick this up and do it its very simple just killing the cauldron lords and right clicking on the cauldron and you basically get 5250 xp xD

One thing I noticed that helped me a lot with this quest chain, is that you dont actually have to click the cauldron itself, you can click the posts that its chained too and turn in the quests. Helps prevent some aggro, which helped me out.

Cauldron Lord Bilemaw essentially looks like a blue/green version of the Slavering Ghouls that are scattered all over the field.

He will be right around, if not on the cauldron base.

He stands right in front of the cauldron. A little easy to miss him because he resembles some of the other scourge in the area. But he's there. Trust me.

I understand some complaints about this quest being difficult; it was pretty hard for the level. However, did it solo as a 51 hunter, and it's really not that difficult if you play it smart. Basically, I went around the edge (NE side of the field) and cleared the mobs to the center, then pulled Bilemaw (he comes with one more at 51.) DPSed him down, threw in a pet heal, killed the other one (wasn't hard a bit.) Cauldron itself was trickier. I was lazy, and I didn't want to clear the mobs around it, so the easiest thing I found was to take your pet on /pet follow, run up to the cauldron (they'll aggro you), then feign. Wait for the mobs to reset and aggro your pet, then get up, grab the cauldron, and head for the hills.

Worked like a charm for me. Pet died, but I got out okay and feigned a ways away -- but feign wasn't necessary, I could have outrun them.

Solo'd as a 54 Pally and it was a cake walk.
Kill the Lord who stands in front of the cauldran, loot the key from him, then simply stand next to the cauldran and click...it does the rest for you. :-)

This would have been so easy to do solo but with dozen of hordes hanging by the couldron evey minute of the day, this quest is hard even with a level 60

It was easy for me.
There was a orc who cleared the whole cauldron, and suddenly the "boss" respawned, i killed him and got the key.

I'm a 50 druid. As everyone knows we can't exactly kill fast. Although I am feral spec. This quest was crazy. Everytime I finally killed everything and got to the cauldron, respawns pwned me. now im waiting for a friend who is a 51 warrior to come help me..

I solod this quest pretty easily as a lvl 54 Rogue. The only hard part was dodging all of the Horde, since this area is so close to the Bulwark. Once i had an opening though, it was pretty easy to pick off the guys around the side one by one, and then run up to the Cauldron lord and his 2 pals, killed them all with Blade Flurry/Adrenaline Rush/Evasion

Kill the cauldron lord for key then shield up run around and aggro mobs, frost nova then quickly click on cauldron and hope nova doesnt break before you complete. Means you dont have to clear out all the mobs surrounding the cauldron first.

Did the same on all cauldron quests. I've had a hard time with these on other classes, so its nice to have it easy for a change.

A horde had just cleared the area when I arrived on the scene. I walked right up to Lord What's-his-name and started pounding on him. That's when I spotted the horde, stealthed. While I was killing Lord, horde clicked on the cauldron then went off and killed another mob. I followed suit. Took me all of a few seconds.

Why can't this happen more often?

Quest was pretty difficult even for me a 55 Warrior, kept trying to use the cauldron at the steps where i would agro 2-3 plus the keyholder, figured out that you can actually use the key on the blocks with the chains holding the cauldron only had to kill one or two baddies and got quest completion. Hope this helps

I got the bottle and key but it didn't work. When i near the claudoron, i right click it and the claudoron gone. Wtf i did wrong? or the quest bugged?

Caldron 36,57. The Lord spawned twice right in between the torches on the south side for me twice. Good luck!

UPDATE: The Lords were always in between the torches at all caldrons.

I usually grind here, but never saw him. Got the quest, and when i got to the chauldron he spawned in front of it. I guess he only spawns if someone has the quest and walks close to the chauldron.

Not hard as a level 52 warlock, attacked the lord he only pulled 1 other, i can take 2 with my voidwalker,

for last part just sent my voidwalker in to round up the mobs as i took the sample then sacrificed and ran

This quest was easy. Did as a level 53 Balance Druid. The enemies respawn fast, so go in quickly and don't stall. Go to th western side of the cauldron and take out anyone who isn't near it. Then set treants on the guy with the key and root him. Then nuke. More enemies will join from around the cauldron, but the most you will need to kill is 5. Keep innervate and healing spells useable. Then after you've killed, get the key, and walk directly at the cauldron, don't turn or you'll pull more enemies. Then complete the quest and return to Chillwind Point.

im a 51 feral druid and i spent so long on this damn quest there r so many mobs.. its impossible to go 1 by 1 and then u got these gay 70 horde that come in with their epic kara gear just to camp ur ass

Just solo'd this. lvl 52 hunter. Use pet to take aggro. FD if needed. And kill em all, keep healing pet. Easy like this. Run to cauldron and activate it. Return to camp.

FFS ... where do i get the empty felstone field bottle? i dont have it .. is it a morph there drop it .? or have i just delete it then i got the quest ?

The Lord is on the southern end of the cauldron.... a few feet away. I killed about 5 enemies around the cauldron as lvl57 warrior, just rampaging them, not too much trouble. Possible to aggro 2 at a time, I did it, so be careful with that. There were still some enemies on northern side of the cauldron when I went to go finish the quest by filling the bottle. Lord appears when you try to put a sample in the bottle. He comes out of the shadow by surprise, instant melee combat.
Bottle is supplied by questgiver? Atleast for me it was.

Mobs are pretty tightly packed in there so be careful. Fight your way in and leave yourself an exit route.

this quest isn't working for me. I kill the boss, get the key, but first of all, the key doesn't even show up in my bag or the keyring. The quest is marked as complete in my log, and there's the yellow question mark above the cauldron, but everytime I right-click, it tells me that there is still a panel that's locked and that I need to get the key first. Have tried to abandon the quest and get it again twice already, but nothing does it.

He is lvl 52-54 i do not remember. He is standing infront of the Cauldron. I dotted him (im a lock) and only aggroed one other skeleton. He drops the key. Then a ? will appear above the cauldron. Walk up and click on the Cualdron.

killing the caldron lord is the easy part. it is all the others around the caldron that will kill you. out of nowhere you haven't moved they haven't moved, but now they are attacking you. you sorry sap blizzard decided that apparently you needed to be taken down a notch, and should have attempted this with a group. with a group!. Its not marked that way but unless you are a lvl 56 or above don't try this alone. if you try to eliminate a few of them. they recycle to fast. esp. the caldron boss, and they all want to protect him.
Lord spawn right by caldron with a skelton mage/lord and a few flayers/ghouls...You pull the boss expect 4 coming with him. Take out the ends then expect to take out lord and mage together. too bad before your done the other side will attack you after you kill them. and you haven't even moved. they haven't called for help. Its blizzard present for almost winning. You were supposed to take a GROUP. only they forget to tell you. shame. shame.

Getting the key is relatively easy (lvl 51 Priest) the harder part is getting up to the cauldron without aggroing the pile of undead surrounding the place. You have to go all the way to the center of the cauldron so watch out for mobs on the other side who seem to have a relatively short spawn time. Probably should wait a lvl or two or bring a friend for this. Had no problem soloing the boss though. Also was killed by horde players quite a bit while trying this one.

at 36,57 on a Lord that will spawn near the middle of field, if your clever you can pull him away from the rest without upsetting the rest of the undead.

Solo'ed as 51 mage without too much trouble. Just work your way in and around. The spawn rate keeps you on your toes 9for those of us with downtime after dropping 2 at a time). The Lord is not much harder then the rest, and level 53 I think.

The hardest part was getting to this location from Chillwind camp, but then i took the direct route and rode through the city just to try it. As long as you stay left on the roads you can ride through, don't go right. Better if you hug the coast and avoid the city at my level though (unless you just enjoy excitement).

Nice thing this... teamed up with some Hordes (I was Alliance) around the cauldron and kept the area clean. Then we took terms on the lord. Nice teamwork. :)

So, Getting the guard guy is easy (enough) if you carefully take out everyone up to it one by one. But, if you walk all the way up to the cauldron, you'll aggro everyone around it (and assuming we're all lazy...). But, the chains coming off the big cauldron (that lead to a much safer area) are also openable once you get the key and have the vial. made it much simpler for me (I kept having lots of mobs aggro me out of nowhere)

Seeing her starts a new quest chain.
