You can pull using Siegesmith Bombs, so you might want to keep this quest undone if you are a class/spec that cannot pull mobs.

This was writen in beta phase so your comment is actually wrong. At the given time ret pallys didn't have a single pulling mechanism.
And its still fun to pull with a bomb :D

The ballistae can be found along the ridge overlooking the shore in New Hearthglen. A couple of spots where one can be found:

67, 74

Ballistae can be on the entrance of New Hearthglen, on the path to the beach, on the beach and on the ledge between the Emeral Dragonshire and New Hearthglen.

When you are near the edge don't get tempted to blow one of the ballistae near the cliff with you inside the bomb radius ,or you will end like me, on the bottom of the cliff, dead :p

Enter New Hearthglen and then browse around for them near the cliff faces.

The ones I found I recorded at:

Just make sure you're not standing on top of the balista like I was, you blow yourself up!

Seigesmith Bombs don't kill the mobs near the ballistae either so prepare to fight them if you hit one near.

If anyone else is standing near the ballistae when you bomb it, regardless of faction or pvp flag, they get tossed through the air. I accidentally dismounted a guy who was flying a little too close. Good laughs.

THESE BOMBS ARE EXTREMELY COOL AND ALSO SOMEWHAT USEFUL! If you have not yet done this quest or turned this quest in, I'd highly suggest keeping it!
I've already heard that this item is useful in tanking as it generates some amount of aggro (tested by pulling mobs that already have aggro on them) on multiple mobs (as opposed to many tanking pulls which only generate aggro on a single mob to begin with). This can also be used to pull through walls. You only have to be able to click the location you want the bomb to hit.
This is also useful in pulling batches of mobs when aoe farming, especially in a crowded area. I do not know if this tags the mob (doesn't do damage) or whether it will tag the mob with the upcoming changes to tagging rules.

Infinite charges. 3 sec CD.
This can be used in Dalaran.
You can keep this quest and still get the Loremaster Achievement.

I stopped testing quest items for zone restrictions after 1-2 zones of nothing but garbage, and blindly turned quests in, including this one. Why Blizzard; why do you punish me so?

It was so funny i thought it was wintergarde keep boy i ran in to big ally trouble when i tried to that quest and i couldn't find anything so i came here and it really helped thanks I don't I'm tell you this because it makes me feel stupid that I went to ally place

I just found this page. I've been keeping these bombs since I was 70-something, because they're fun.

Hang out in the AH and throw a bunch of them around. You're guaranteed to stir up some action and curiosity all around.
Once people find out it's you, you're bound to get some whispers and /giggles.
Heh, I even won a 5g bet that I can aggro a level 1 squirrel without killing it or damaging it in any way.
Take these to Dalaran and hit the squirrel under the statue for some lulz and /cry s {:->

As fun as it is to keep these bombs and throw them around, this quest must be completed to progress to The Kor'kron Vanguard and Veteran of the Wrathgate.

Confirmed, I completed the entire Wrathgate quest chain and still have the bombs to play with at my leisure.

You can get four of the ballistae before entering New Hearthglen, and if you wait approximately 5 mins the first ballistae will have respawned, so you never have to actually enter New Hearthglen.

Whomever stated that all classes/specs have a pulling ability. This is partially true and partially false. Having leveled a retadin to 80 I know the actual truth. Prior to patch 2.8 retadins did not have a viable "pulling" ability seeing as how judgements range was already within aggro range so that is not pulling. Patch 2.9 enabled the use of excorcism on all mobs making it a pulling ability. Patch 3.0 (major patch prior to the release of WoTLK) pallies got a taunt. So retadins could start pulling at patch 2.9

Now this is "I do not know for certain, but I think Feral spec druids do not have any ranged pulling abilities that I know of. If this is false then let me know the ability and I will stand corrected.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you turn in the quest, the bombs *will* be taken away. I even went so far as to put them into my bank and then come back and turn it in. They aren't listed as a required object for completion so I hoped they wouldn't be taken back, but they do.

Actually, you can keep the bombs in the bank, and still complete the quest. They look A-SUM, and can be used everywhere.

The bastillae are the stationary "arrow shooter things" that are positioned at the entrance of New Hearthglen right around 72,70. Use the bombs on them.
