After you rescue a prisoner by getting a key off of the vrykuls, the prisoner will stay with you for about 5 to 10 minutes, helping you kill. You can have more than one prisoner with you as well.

Be aware that you can still open empty cages, using a key, but you get no credit for em. Do check if there is actually someone in the cage before opening :)

If a Water Magus casts frost nova & hits one of the caged prisoners, the prisoner'll nip out of their cage - once the nova's worn off - and help you fight... then thoughtfully run back into their cage & wait until you unlock the door for them with a key.

I dunno, somehow I'm just not convinced they really want to be free... ;)

Be Warned:

These will pull everything in the area like similar quests in Wrath. I got on my flying mount to hover a few feet forward and when I jumped off it trained about 5 mobs to me.

for hunters or unholy DKs: when you press attack on your pet command bar all your DK guardians attack too dunno if this will be ne help but it looks pretty cool when a rhino and 4 DKs go charging towards a single vrykul

Go back to Jotunheim and let them out of those cages. Break the damn locks, I don't care what you have to do. The vrykul likely have the keys.
