Also worth mentioning; the mob fears so you should probably clear around a little or risk getting feared into 2 or 3 other mobs that hang around near him. :)

Just a quick note the knothide can be bought at ah for about 5 gold saves time and u get 12 gold for this neway

Is there a pre-req to this quest chain? I can do the other dailies, etc, but for some reason this guy won't open up. Currently Neutral, btw, with Netherwing.

The knothide leather is from skinning only (even if you're not a skinner) Spent like 20 minutes killing the dinos around tyran thinking they would drop because I thought that's what the first comment said...

So at least in my head, this seems important enough to state for everyone that might wonder (like myself):

No, you don't have to gather these materials every time you do the booterang daily. You do it the one time, turn it in, and every time you go do the daily, he gives it back to you.

Thankfully, booterangs don't take much damage during their time spent being chucked at lazy peons, so they don't wear out. Otherwise, that would be a rather expensive/time consuming daily, getting all that knothide every day (unless you're a skinner and then it doesn't matter because the mines are right there and full of things to slaughter and skin) and having to make the long flight out to kill Tyrantus.

I wonder what he does will all the leftover booterangs? Give them to litters of puppies? ^_^

EDIT: Someone had already answered this in the next stage of the quest line, but it really should be stated here as well.

Whoever designed this quest is evil... The farthest possible point from the quest giver to get to Tyrantus. It's just cruel!

That's correct, no skinning required for Tyrantus' hide, do remember to clear some mobs though, I agro-ed 3 of them due to two fears.

Tyrantus pats around 45,10 in the very north part of the northern most Eco Dome in Netherstorm. He has fear, so if you pull him at the very top of his pat, you will only have to clear a little bit to avoid adds. Might be big but he fell easy, stun-locked him and never took damage. Looted the hardened hide first try, it does not require skinning. Don't forget the 10 hides, AH if you're not a skinner, and remember the turn in is back at Netherwing.

[So you're the new overseer, eh? Well there's one thing any good overseer needs and that's the proper disciplinary weapon. Before you can go out there and knock some sense into these peons you need to have your "piece." Each overseer has to gather the materials required to make their own "piece" and you'll be no different.

I'll need knothide leather and the hardened hide of Tyrantus. You'll find Tyrantus in Eco-Dome Farfield, located in the northern reaches of Netherstorm.]
