high school math tells me that this is a 144/100 = 44% boost to frost trap's area. While generally there are more useful glyphs (steady, serpent, TSA for MM hunters), I would expect to be switching this one in for 5v5 regularly.

I would like to note that you CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect. Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:

"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

I have this...and if u are a BG freak like I am...then this is a very important glyph to have. Whether it's most important...idk...depends on your goal in BG. My goal is to assist flag runners and healers as well as dps.

In EotS...when this trap is set on the bridge...there is no getting by it once it's triggered....it's awesome to no end.

People have to go pretty far to get around it and it buys the rest of the team more time to place flags and to dps incoming targets.

So far I’m loving it...but of course I’ll be trying out other glyphs to see which is best for my style of playing, and with DPS now being more important than actually winning the BG to acquire Honor Points I may be changing my style of playing anyways.

This glyph should definitely be minor. All of the minor glyphs are so situational except feign death...

I don't know why you guys are so crazy about it even in bg's.
Assuming that the trigger player is in the center, that only increases the snare by 2 yards. Players run at 6.8 yards per second. Since the snare is 2 yards at 50% speed, all that means is that the target will now run 2 yards at 3.4 yards per second or a little bit less than 0.6 seconds of time. Assuming that you're kiting a group, that only adds ~1.2 seconds worth of time for a GROUP. Granted, it's better than nothing, but it would probably be better to replace this glyph with Explosive Shot or Chimera Shot for that added damage to pick off healers in bg's.

No. If frost trap was a square and you were talking about diameter and not radius, your math would be correct. It is a circle. About 80 sq. yards to 155 sq. yards rounding to the nearest 5. (regional)

Edit: Formula pie x radius (5) squared to pie x (7) squared.

Wow, regional and benedikta are epic fails at math and reading comprehension. The description of a frost trap states that "all enemies within 10 yards will be slowed". The distance from a central point is called the radius--not the diameter! Hence, frost trap has an effective radius of 10 yards (not 5 yards as claimed by regional and benedikta). This glyph increases that effective radius from 10 yards to 12 yards. The % area increase is the ratio of the circles' areas (pi times the radius squared):

pi = mathematical constant = ~3.14
r = radius of regular frost trap = 10 yrds
rg = radius of glyphed frost trap = 12 yrds

(pi*rg^2)/(pi*r^2) = rg^2/r^2 = 12^2/10^2=144/100 = 0.44 = 44%

So in the end, Sjihaat's purged comment correctly calculated the % area increase, while regional and benedikta--the two fools who downrated/purged Sjihaat's comment to "correct his math"--now have egg on their faces.
