I've heard conflicting reports and I've ran lightning halls so much that I'm blue in the face.

the word "pantheon" is now a generic term applied to a monument in which illustrious dead are buried.

You're right on it also being a building in Rome ( and several other places for that matter), one that I have visited due to it's unique dome construction being of interest to an engineer during his studies.

The word pantheon however does NOT mean a building in which dead are buried, no matter now illustrious they might have been.

Pantheon is used to denote a collection of gods such as the Roman Pantheon ( as the old roman gods with Jupiter being the "king of the gods" ) or the Greek Pantheon ( with Zeus in the same position).

Pantheons exits for every polytheistic faith or religion, though not all name their gods as such.

This entire disagreement is a moot point. Pantheon, as it is referred to in the name of this item, refers to the Titan High Council, of which Sargeras once belonged to.

Well, after some testing on my prot warrior with 3/3 Armor to the Teeth, The use effect does not grant any extra attack power from the talent. Wether this is a bug or not, it was a big disappointment for me after having found out. I figured along with the extra mitigation, it might provide a little extra TPS.

There are three decent crafted tanking trinkets:

For alchemists, the indestructible alchemist stone isn't half bad. Its got a ton of stamina as well as a nice effect, considering we can only use one pot in a fight now.

JCs get the monarch crab, which has two sockets and can be popped for a huge dodge bonus.

Engineers get Sonic Booster, which is great considering it has a high proc rate, making it have decent uptime as well as a huge stamina bonus.

Craft these items if you already have the profession, but don't go out of your way for them. These trinkets aren't fantastic, but they'll work until you can get some better ones in heroics/raids.

Since Blizzard didn't, I will provide fair warning that this Trinket has an absolutely abysmal drop rate. I've run reg Halls of Lightning at least 20 times just for this trinket and I haven't seen it drop. I haven't seen it on anyone and nobody I know has seen it drop. I've seen everything else that this boss drops at least three times (he drops two blues) but never this trinket. Earlier today there were six tanks in LFG for regular Halls of Lightning, I asked them all and yes they were all going for this.

There are blue posts clearly stating that Blizzard was disappointed that nobody gemmed for Defense in TBC, and so they made sure that getting the Defense cap would be harder or impossible to do without gems and/or enchants. They did not mention that this trinket would have a drop rate roughly equal to your chances of getting the Warglaives off of Illidan in two consecutive runs, but I'm sure it was implied when they said that they wanted Defense rating to be harder to max.

Anecdote is not the singular of data.

The Seal of the Pantheon doesn't drop any more or less than anything else on Normal Loken's drop table. He drops eight items, two at a time, and from what it looks like they're all drop at more or less the same frequency. That means that for any given Loken kill, you have a 25% chance to get your trinket. And while it's certainly unlikely, going 20 runs without seeing your Seal is absolutely possible; in fact, about 1 in 315 people will have the same thing happen to them.

Your math is a bit off.

If he drops 8 items at a 1/8 chance each, 2 at a time, there are 28 combinations that can occur (since you can't get two of the same drop). 6 of these combinations contain any one given item, in this case the Seal.

So there is a 6/28 = 21.4% chance of a set of items containing the seal dropping.

Except there's seven possible combinations in which any given item will appear, which makes the drop chance 7/28, or 25%. An easier way of calculating it is determining the chance that the item you want won't drop:

There's a 7/8 chance of not getting your Seal of the Pantheon for your first item. There's a 6/7 chance of not getting your Seal of the Pantheon for your second item.

(7 / 8) * (6 / 7) = (42 / 56) = 75%

So if there's a 75% chance that you won't get your Seal of the Pantheon, there's consequently a 25% chance that it will drop.

For profession-less or profession-hampered DKs out there, the https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=27891 is easily farmed solo at 80 and provides ~6 def skill. When combined with the Seal of the Pantheon you can squeeze ~20 def skill out of trinkets.

The only realistic way to push the number higher is to make a profession item or raid Naxx so it may be worth the effort to grab the figurine if you're looking for that last few defense skill before the 535 or 540 caps.

It does not drop in heroic, only in normal mode.

Level 78 required items drop in the normal mode 80 instances... all heroic drops should be level 80 required.

This is correct. It is easy for any death knight with the bladed armor talent to test:

Check your attack power
Switch to frost presence
Check your attack power (it will be the same)
Wait 20 seconds
Check your attack power (it will be a lot higher)

It's not a bug, as according to Blizzard, its working as intended. The reason is effects like Armored to the teeth are based on a server side armor stat update which happens every 15 or 20 seconds where the server checks your armor and recalculates any buffs you get from that. If you pop the trinket and get lucky with the server side armor update right after you use the trinket you will get the increased attack power until the server checks your armor again.

Although I don't disagree with your post... I do think Blizzard needs to fix this. If a mage can use a trinket and wtfpwnbbq everything, and a healer can use a trinket and wtfpwnheal everything, then a warrior should be able to use a trinket and wtfpwntank stuff.

I agree with sircowdog. As a hybrid death knight tank, I have ran this instance close to 30 times and have not seen it drop yet. They say the drop rate is 22%, well I can easily say that is wrong or I am just very unlucky. If this trinket wasn't that helpful, along with the trinket from Heroic Azjol-Nerub, I would most definitely not bother running the instance over 4-5 times.

Somehow when I equip a Sonic Booster then equip this one back on, I'm getting double the defense bonus. Its weird, if I change any other equips, or go through a load my def goes back down to normal, but when I switch this one out with Sonic Booster I don't lose the defense bonus, then when I re-equip this trinket I get the 65 def again.

I think maybe it is just a display error, also, It only works with the Sonic Booster, I've tried every other trinket I have.

Except the extra ~60 AP isnt exactly going to make you wtfpwntank stuff

Edit again: If what Gorehoff says above is correct, then the server only has to check you while you have the increased armour buff, and you will receive the full AP from the talent until the server rechecks, which is 20seconds, so you are still getting the full AP benefit for whatever its worth, the timing may just be a bit off.

Keep farming that damned boss, eventually it'll drop! (got mine after 9 full runs and a good number of aborted runs at the last boss due to terribad pugs)

Non-druid tanks who are preparing for raiding, I strongly urge you to build a raid-tanking gearset around Seal of the Pantheon--and its terrific On Use--and Essence of Gossamer. (Druids, and other tanks who don't need the Seal's DEF to become uncrittable, should substitute Valor Medal of the First War.)

Many boss fights have certain moments--Anub'Rekhan's Locust Swarm, Patchwerk's 5% soft enrage, or Maexxna's <30% web wrap--when incoming damage suddenly skyrockets. The more panic buttons a tank has for those moments, the better. As a paladin I have exactly one. This gives me another.

Essence is wonderful, too, but only for the stamina contribution. Anyone relying on a 2% random proc to actually save himself during the tough moments of any boss fight is fooling himself.

Haven't seen it in any of the other comments on this page but: This trinket does not share a cooldown with Adamantine Figurine.

By combining the two together you get 97 total def rating (32+65), and an on use of 4850 armor. (1280+3570).

Pretty effective for decreasing incoming damage to give your healer some breathing room.

3 hours straight farming for this trinket, no luck. Gonna get the trinket from sl normal until next tries for this trinket. need to be very lucky to have it drop appearently.

This thing just dropped for my druid tank (was still using green DPS trinkets), and then to my amezement, a hunter needs on it and wins the roll. I just dont get it, he didnt ninja anything at all for the entire run, just this trinket thats useless to him :/ That guy got a place on my blacklist (first so far, im not to keen on blacklisting people). I just hope it drops again....

I have run halls of lightning about 13 times in the realm madoran and it has only dropped once. To make it worse, a DK (Infidelis) need rolled on it even though he could not use and won the roll. To say it drops 19% is just bad math!

Whatever , it droped for me in normal mode allthough i dont need def rating that much as a feral druid tank, since there wasnt any plate wearing player it was mine. But i still like the oh sh*t button on it ^^

If your not wearing plate, please don`t tank. I`m still using this trinket as I am running through Ulduar 10 and Ulduar 25! Repelling Charge just doesn`t drop.

BiS for plate wearing tanks 78-79. If you are a tank grinding in hopes of this dropping make sure a DK isn't gonna roll need on it if it drops.
