When your character is at Exalted reputation with the faction of the vendor you're buying this from, it will cost, with 20% discount:

32 silver each (only sold in stacks of 5).
1g60s per 5.
6g40s per stack.

This vial is used in all of WotLK's elixirs and potions (except Endless ones, and you'll need the costlier Enchanted Vial only for those and the flasks) but also in all of TBC's Alchemist-made flasks, elixirs and potions except Mad Alchemist's.

They most likely extracted the potion from a mpq file, like people like to do these days.

The chick right in the middle of the market district, in the Everyday Merchandise store, sells them. You pretty much need them for all the higher level stuff in BC.

What are these used for? I'm a 300 alchemist and have never seen a recipe requiring these; yet.

These are used once you gain Master Alchemist from Hellfire area. Most of the potions you make after 300 will require these.
