Tyr's hand is a good place to train your lockpicking from 250-305 so you can get to work in Outlands.
Don't forget to pickpocket the mobs to since it's not that many chests. (All chests are inside buildings)

if you plan on just running around EP, try to find a pally or lock to come with you. reason being, a pally has a few spells that can do some serios dmg to the Undead and Demon, and a lock's void can be of many uses when killing for items.

This is also an excellent place to farm for Rich Thorium Veins if you're looking to power level your blacksmithing, mining, or jewelcrafting.

This place is an awsome place to farm for runecloth the mobs in Browman Mill & Corin's Crossing can drop up to 1-3 runcloths and are 56-60 mobs its located at (77,66) northwest of the town, light hopes chapel (81,59) which is on the easternmost part of the plaugelands for those of you w/o cords.

An overall good 57-58 zone many of the quests require items that you can get from random drops off other mobs in different zones, here they are:
The Elemental Equation - Core of Elements, drops off of most every elementals. Can be bought from the Auction House
Bone Fragments - Bone Fragment, drops off of undead in Western plaguelands. Can be bought from the Auction House
Savage Fronds - Savage Fronds, drops off of Diremaul mobs. Can be bought from the Auction House
They Call me "The Rooster" - Argent Dawn Valor Token, Obtained by handing in scourgestones

Come here at level 55 and feel your jaw drop at all the quests here, although still come here at 57-58 because mosts of the quest shouldn't be completed at level 55

Most of the mobs here are Undead/Humanoids

The instance Stratholme(82,42) which is at the northwestern part of the map is also located here.

Recommended to have 285+ Herbalism, losts of plaguebloom
Recommended to have 245+ Mining, lots of small thorium and truesilver deposits

This is probably my favorite zone of the whole game. I don't know why, but something about it just makes me all fuzzy inside. I think it's because it has a "Bavarian" like scenery to it.

It's sad that most people don't bother with this place any more. With the release of BC, as soon as people hit 58 they go to the Dark Portal and enter the Outlands for their new adventures and better quest loot.

Now I don't recommend lvling to 60 here, then going to Outlands, that would be foolish, but after you get to 70, and you get bored, take a trip out here and explore things. It really is a fun place to farm.

I still have my hearthstone set to chapel hill on my mage, and I farm mats for enchanting. If you have the key to the city and go into Stratholme, with decent gear and a deep frost spec (I'm talking mage of course), you can solo this instance at level 70, although the living side is a bit more difficult, but you can use your sheep there. I get tons of Large Brilliant Shards, Righteous Orbs, and outside the chapel, I get tons of Essence of Undeath. These materials are always in high demand for twinks to get Unholy and Crusader enchants on their weapons (on my server, with my mats, Unholy costs 100G, and crusader runs 200G). If you are an enchanter, this is a great place to farm mats, plus the occasional BoE blue item drops still sell well.

This zone and Western Plaguelands remind me of the WC3 campaign where you have to choose to destroy the ships or save the farms.

Slight change to this area:

1.) Naxxramas will no longer remain above Plaguewood,but is being moved to Dragonblight as we all know.

2.) The Death Knight starting area is being added next to Tyr's Hand along with Ebon Hold making the map look slightly different.

An easy way to get here for our 70's is going to Isle of Quel'Danas. You go to the flight master and fly to Eastern Plaguelands. It's way easier then going all the way to Ironforge then flying past Wetlands and more. So next time you want to get here use this tip! =)

The by far darkest place ingame must be Darrowshire, which lies within this great zone. You have to love how the darkness just tunes in around you as you approach the village. Darrowshire is the place of agony and suffering.

Ok so i was on my 70 hunter today and i was at Tyr's hand and i happend to notice that they added the DK starting area. so i went exploring, i was standing where the Ebon hold is. But i could not see the building so i was kinda disaponted. But then i relized the building is FLOATING right above me!

so naturaly i wipped out the Eagles Eye to take a closer look. What i saw almost made me !@#$ my pants! THe hold had people inside. there where TONS of lvl 80 elite nps! They were all part of the Knights of the Ebon Blade. And in the Very Middle of the fortress is Highlord Darion Mograine! He is a Lvl ? Boss with 11156K Health, and is actually frendly with me!

This zone now has the Deathknight Start Area in the far east. You can reach it currently by running through the elite mobs (as a level 70) inside of Tyr's Hand. and take the north fork in the path around the big cathedral building.

It's currently without population and you can see the large Black Citadel-esque building floating in the north end of the area. By the looks of it, down on the shore, those of us intending to roll a deathknight, will have to face Murlocs at some point, by the presence of the little murloc huts familiar to other Murloc populated areas.

Something else to note, is that blizzard have hinted that non-deathknight players will NOT be able to enter the zone. so, if you won't or cant roll a deathknight. go check it out now before the patch.

Just a note about the Spectral Gryphon rides available from the Plaguewood Tower to the other towers appear to be broken. I just took a flight to the tower closest to the Lights Hope Chapel, and I was going so horrendously slow it wasn't even funny. I could've walked there faster... not ran, walked, that's how slow this thing was flying. I don't recall it being so slow last time I was here, but I may be wrong.

The passage to Ghostlands can be found at 54.5 , 8.7 for those of us with Cartographer.
For all the sensible non-cheaters, it can be found north of Quel 'Lithien Lodge.
Just follow the road to it's end :-)

Sadly, if you are not a Death Knight, it seems there is absolutely nothing to do East of Tyr's Hand. I was bored and went exploring around there today, just to see if I had missed anything, but there seems to be no NPC's, no mineral veins, nothing to do at all.

The Ebon Hold is quite cool to look at from below, but that's pretty much it.

I explored the Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave to see the outcome of the Scarlet/scourge war battlefeild and it was really creepy... i went into some of the houses and theres cozy fires set and the houses were still standing.... i was surprised there was no Undead mobs behind here, you'd think that coming back to an old place it would have undead there. im also amazed that there are no skeletons on the ground either

I love both the eastern and western plaguelands for all the lore (Being a Lordaeron fan), and I am hoping since the western plaguelands will be cleansed with Cataclysm, the eastern half will be as well.

I hope not! I don't like that the scourge is retreating. It destroys the old traditional world, the lore will vanish, cant some of the most lorefull places stay as they are?

And think of poor Westfall is being destroyed by some bull$%^& magic! Its okay with a few lava cracks, but why destroy the world? I got a feeling that cataclysm will be the last expansion in the world of warcraft=(

When you move to the 'entrance' of quel'thalas (sp?) you'll notice the trees where you can't pass offcourse, and and NPC called 'adon' => Quel'thalas will be added in the addon (expansion) :)

K was just minding my own damn business looking for Egan, when i found a cave in the far northern part of this zone.(Just to the west of Stratholme). I went through the cave, and it comes out at little clearing with a ray of light coming down at the opposite end of the clearing. But the second you step onto that clearing you start getting insane damage and you die, anyone know what the hell this is about? (I talked another guy into coming with me and he died too so its not just my character)

if you played Warcraft 2: TOD then you will know that this base is controlled by high elves, with the uprising of its populace due to Alternac's soldiers, so the Silver Hand came and cleanse Tyr's Hand destroying the renegarde peasants and destroyed the orcish activites located there..

This place is not only good for questing... This place is also good for the discovering xp! Each place you discover gives 850 xp average (around 17-20k xp for whole map!)

This gotta be the most depressing zone ever! Sad environment filled with lots of rotting mobs that attack you whereever you are, + boring quests. Only good thing here are the dungeons.

I would skip this zone because I didn't gain much experience at all by doing the quests. Half of the ! you will see in the chapel are weird gathering quests that will improve your rep with the argent dawn, freaktard boring and slow though, and not worth it!

The cords are about 27,85. There is a quest to this place named Zaelda the Outcast it should be easy. But there is 2 mobs down there with him.
And btw! Try get an addOn that shows the unseen places on the map. Don't remember the name.
I soloed this quest at 56.

Within 3 weeks i was able to loot 3 epics here, Krol Blade, Destiny, and Brain Hacker. I'm taking this repitious route of farming here, so i can aquire the gold i need for training for my fast mount. Even though you have to be careful of the patrols, the respawns, and the occasional scarlet courier i was able to solo farm here as a lvl 60 mage with decent pre-40 man instance gear(mostly magisters/sorceror's with some various blues tossed in). So while there aren't any quests here, and the named npcs don't seem to drop any better loot, i think its worth it if you have the patience.

evidently they are weak for elites but still drop like elites of that lv in instances so its heavily farmed by chineese farm corps and such...i like to go there just to mess with them cause it pisses them off...expecialy the rogues when u see em stealth and then aoe the mobs they could possibly hit :)

Any time I get close to Tyr's hand, some hunter comes up, yells at me in chinese. I speak enough chinese to generally understand what he is saying. Then he goes and pulls a bunch of agro, runs over to me, and Feigns death, dumping agro on me. Yay!

came here with lockpicking around 270 and got to 300 within 50 mins and grinded around 5 gold an 6000exp at lvl 65 rogue
so if ur lookin to get ur picking up for outterland and cant b bothered openin everyones boxes in major cities then head here worth while in the end.

The following quests can be picked up from Craftsman Wilhelm at the Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands by completing Omarion's Handbook which you get from Master Craftsman Omarion.
He's trapped in a cage in the first room of trash in the Deathknight Wing inside Naxxramas.
With a skill of 300 and high enough reputation, you will be able to choose from a total of 13 different patterns depending on your professions: Tailoring (4), Leatherworking (6) or Blacksmithing (3).

(Patterns actually doesn't exists, all of them are taught by Master Craftsman Omarion in Naxxramas.)
