the drop rate isnt very high - so when u do this quest make sure u got enough time 2 do it - took me about 30 min

For this quest, I didn't specifically go out and look for treants - for me, just the few that spawned when I was doing other quests seemed to be enough for the drop. Your results may differ, but I'm just throwing my two copper into the conversation.

i found the corrupted trees at this location 49.3 75.4. and in the process of finding them i discovered Middenvale.

There's another cluster in Nazzivus at 36,75. You may notice that these groups are centered around large, crystal-studded trees. As said above, they respawn very rapidly here--which makes it good for farming for the bark.

imo, the best place to kill them is at 36, 75 in nazzivian
just run around the big red crystal, but beware, the trees respawn very fast =]

For those without cords, I found a reliable spawn in Middlevale, which is south west-ish from Blood Watch.

This can be a pain for hunters, you kill one, pet to 60% health, while killing another your pet grabs one more and it dies forcing aggro on you, which hunters aren't good with, you die. I died two times. My pet three times.

Middenvale (51,77) and the area around Nazzivian have a lot of the treants that drop the bark for this quest. However, a fair warning, they seem to have a ridiculously quick respawn time!

Read the first entry here. You can actually get overwhelmed pretty easily there though if you end up getting respawns just around you. Be careful, but it doesn't take that long.

There is a big crystal in Nazzivian that spawns 4 Corrupted Treeants every 1 min or 2, you can do this quest in 5 mins there. The crystal is right infront of that main shrine in the camp.

Apparently thats where they get "Corrupted"

right where cords say, hug the mountain just right and you will only have to kill a lvl 12 guarding it, 975xp lvl 13 priest, piece of cake

ok forget middenvale and pick up the quest know thine enemy both can be done quickly at 36,71 where the drop rate for the treants is about 100%. Good luck

Thanks a lot Culemborgnl and others for pointing out that the right coords are 51,75 for the treants. Because Questhelper kept nagging me that I should go to 50,50 and there were only 2 treants there. So after a looooong time with no treants, I looked here and went to 51,75 (and practically got flooded with treants) :P

I found a great spot at 36,75 inside the Nazzivian area. At those coords there's a big tree with red crystals at the base and 4 Corrupted Treants. Kill those Treants and they'll respawn in about 30 seconds. It makes for a great farm in getting the Crystalized Bark.

Bloodmyst Isle was forever changed by our arrival. The Exodar's crash scattered debris all over the islands and I think it's beginning to have an adverse effect on the wildlife.

Before I can be certain of my conclusion, I'll need to get a closer look. The crystals seem to have affected the trees the fastest, so it seems that the treants would be the most likely to show symptoms. If you bring me samples of bark from corrupted treants, I can begin my in-depth studies.
