You can find him at 65, 79 at the top of the building. He's tough to solo but you can do it if you interrupt his casting by moving out of his LOS every time he starts to cast chain lightning or shrink.

Soloed this as a lvl 19 Holy Paladin using the technique described here of getting out of his LOS before he casts. The lightning bolt was unavoidable, however, since it's an instant cast which does about 95 damage. Had to bubble once.

Soloed as a lvl 18 rogue. Gear was whatever greens I had from levelling. Used a potion of minor defence, a food buff and a lesser healing potion in the fight. Also some woolen bandages.

Some tips -
Assuming you are blood elf go in with fully charged mana tap. Makes a very nice interrupt when kick is on cooldown (he is immune to gouge).
Also you can kite him around the rooftop almost indefinitely (until the add respawns anyway). It got to where we were both below 10% and I just kited him round here for the 30 seconds or so until I could bandage again. First time I tried this I got hit with instant lightning for 104 damage and died (460 health total with food buff)

Interestingly engough this encounter requires more strategy, tactics and good execution than most raid bosses :)

Soloed as 19 hunter. Only had +4 STA buff from food. Tanked with cat and used Arcane Shot and Serpent Sting often. Cat ended up with 3% health left and no damage to me.

Never needed mana tap/silence nor had to move out of line of sight.

Gear was standard for 19 with no twink items.

Solo'd as a level 15 hunter:

I brought him down to the base level, outside ring of the hut. Any adds that respawn (inside/outside hut) won't aggro. You have as much time as you need.

He's immune to slows so serpent sting/arcane shot kite him around the outside ring using line of sight as he tries to cast lightning bolt and shrink. Bandage while he's casting these to recoop his instant lightning shock damage that isnt avoidable. I'd suggest taking some pots with you if you're around level 15.

Myself and a friend solo'd him fairly easily.
Both 15 BE Paladin's, Only had to pop 1 HP Pot.

We went in with the mindset of "Noway we can do it but hey, lets try anyway" and it paid off in the end.

Just stun whenever you can and DPS the ever living crap out of him.

(Both used 1h+Shield, Had +4 Str. pot's, +50 armor pot's, +4 int. Scroll's)

Trying to move from LOS did ot help at all, as it screws my casting.
Just hit to hard. Went thru shield quicker than I could heal, then mana gone :/
Will have to pair up or get another lvl or 2 higher.

Solo'ed it as a 20 Warrior. Make sure you've got a good set of Stamina gear and do it in Defensive, so you can Shield Bash, Disarm, etc.

Really tough battle. Had to use a Lesser Healing Potion and nearly died, but it's doable.

Soloed it as a level 20 BE warlock using succubus. Just placed all my dots on him and shadow bolted him to death. I used arcane torrent (Blood Elf racial) to interrupt one of his lightning bolt spells, but that was all the interruption I had. Had to use health stone too, and at the end I was almost dead, but I killed him.

Soloed him as a lvl 19 Paladin (though I did have the axe from VC). Was really simple for me. I used that elixir you get that increases your HP by 70, was also well fed (about +8 stamina). Went to the top of the stairs, killed the add, healed up, then pulled with mana tap and ran behind the hut at the top to run out of LOS.

Then he came and I just started beating him, when he started casting, I'd stun him, any other time, I would just make sure I was right next to the middle hut and just run around it if he started casting, then he would just run around it back to me, where I'd hit him some more, then when he started casting, I'd LOS him again. I didn't use any potions or even my stone statue I had prepared, just hit him and ran in circles, was really simple. Probably could have done it at 17 or 18.

He's tough but I solo'd him on my 19 warlock. Just have your void walker tank, keep the dots up, and interupt his casting. when your void is about dead, just sac it, and finish him yourself.

possible to solo as an 18 lock, dot him up and just heal your pet....when he gets to like 15% my pet died but he was slowed at running so i just ran around the pillar and killed him with curse of agony.

His main attack is lightning bolt. If you just run around the middle part of the structure you will be out of line of sight and his spell will fail, I took very little damage soloing him this way.

Solo'd toe to toe (no moving out of LoS etc) with Paladin at level 18, was close though.

I actually did it with Sin'dorei Warblade as opposed to a S&S basically revolves around stunning and arcane torrent when he charges chain lightning then using "bubble" to heal yourself to full then potions and as a last gasp Lay On Hands (timer wasn't up for this when I did it though.)

Quite a fun fight and some test of skill :)

Just solo'd as a 19 mage ... the 'run behind the pillar' technique works flawlessly. I did have to use one healthpot, and i bandaged once, but luckily, he pauses long enough before chasing after you that you have more than enough time to do stuff like that.

he actually pauses momentarily once he comes around the pillar and becomes Line of Sight again, too.

Very Very easy as a hunter. Put your pet on stay right at the top of the stairs. jump off to the left and get on the mountains/hill next to the building. tell your pet to attack him and just shoot the crap out of him from the hill to the side of the building.

On my lvl 19 BE priest I did the following:

Prepare thoroughly: Make sure you have all your buffs up (this includes touch of weakness and mana tap stacked up 3 times)

The fight:
- Shield yourself (I use a macro that shields me if I don't target a friend)
- Pull with Mind Blast
- Apply Shadow Word: Pain
- Now keep sw:p up all the times while you are running around the pillar. If you see him running towards you, turn around and run the other way. Heal (with Renew) and shield yourself if needed.
- I used arcane torrent once when my mana become too low and kept on using mana tap if it was up.

If you do this and keep on running, he will die after a few minutes. Other classes with dots may be able to beat him the same way. If you have no dots or are a melee class, you probably need a friend on this quest.

Soloed as a level 18 protection paladin.
Get your mana tap up, and use Blessing of Wisdom, not Blessing of Might, so you get some mana regen. Start with Judgement of the Crusader, and then buff yourself with Seal of Righteousness; run around the pillar every time he starts casting, judge him with SoR as soon as you can, and immediatly buff yourself back, all in all I used one healing potion and one divine protection, it really isn't a hard fight.

Soloed as a level 18 BE rogue. Had to use 1 potion, but that's because I forgot to pop evasion while fighting him. Just make sure to kick his lightning's (and if you are a BE also, use arcane torrent as an extra silence). Was easier than I expected!

easyily soloed on a 19 lock no twinking just quest gear send in voidwalker dot up wand till void allmost dead then use sacrifice and summon a secound void and line of site him till void 2 has aggro and shadow bolt to death hearth collect reward

Melee classes can solo him, but they take more damage than a caster would. As a level 18 Druid with basic quest greens, I used bear form with the help of a few Healing Touches.

It's the same principle as a ranged class, wait until he comes into sight and starts casting, then move away, but not too far. As soon as he comes into sight again, walk up to him and hit him only ONCE, then move out of LOS. In this way, you will be able to avoid every spell but get a hit on him every time. You'll occasionally suffer a melee attack but nothing big.

I would also suggest using a very slow weapon, considering it's a one-shot deal every 5 seconds or so.

I also solo'd as a druid, level 19. It was a close fight but here's what I did:

started off with a starfall, jumped in bear form and would whack him until I felt that I had to run around the pillar to LOS him. Nearing the end I found to have mana issues (constantly rejuvenating, stunning, etc.) but then I found out a really good technique ~half way through that, when I did it, didn't get hit again.

I came out of bear form and literally hugged the pillar, walking around it. You must stay literally touching it the entire time, but don't run too fast away from him.
As you run around like this, he starts to run slower then you. With my staff it would allow me to whack him every time we came across one of the small corners of the hexagon pillar.
Doing this with your instant rejuv. heal leaves nothing but profit. The best part is that if you ever screw up ith it or something you have two stuns (bear form and war stomp) and can simply try again.

And also just a general tip for druids that might not know this yet at this point, if you ever find yourself in a rut, just war stomp -> regrowth -> rejuvenate as fast as possible.

Basicly every 18lvl hunter can solo it, no need to be affraid off 2lvls higher elite. I just sent my cat with mend pet on, waited while the pet made some threat, started shooting... Then mend again, in the end my pet almost died so I overaggroed it at took kelgash down with full hp left. Crappy quest gear and worse bow than the quest gives.

Found it extremely annoying as a 18-level frost mage.

If you are a caster, especially with tiny base health pool the most important thing is not to get in his melee range, he can stop casting bolts and just own your face with auto attacks and instant chain lightnings. With some luck he'll grind your 400 hp in 3 seconds.

So make circles around the pillar, stopping somewhat away from it, so he ends up out of your hit box when coming in your line of sight chasing you.

soloed as a ret pally level 17 thought it was sortof easy im a jc so i used a rough stone statue, ret arua, and just kept judgementing him until i needed a heal i used arcane torrent and 1 minor mana potion for mana

Soloed as a level 19 warlock, this was mostly doable because of my proffesion, Engineering saved me.

Here is how i did it.
I accidentally pulled him with my VW at 50% hp, so when my VW got low on hp i sacrificed, nuked with shadow bolt and dots (i was pretty oom, too) until my shield went away, this is where it got somewhat hard... Dot him up with Corruption and CoA, run around the pillar all the time to avoid his spells, bomb him when you can. Do not try to interrupt him with bombs because he's not affected by them! But they do a lot of damage. Drink a potion if you get under 150 hp, his instant chain lightning hurts, having a healthstone helps aswell but i didn't use one. Just make sure you're over 150hp, and that you're out of sight all the time. Keep him dotted up and it's easy mode.

I wanted to solo this on my lvl 15 hunter for the bow reward, unfortunately not a success story, but i got him down to 217 hp. I'd say its doable, just get some lucky pet growls, mend pet always and distract when pets low hp, you'd possibly do it.

Got a friend to come and 1 shot him after 2 attempts :p

Solo'd him as a lvl 21 disc priest. Slowly killed my way to him and when the way was clear, I kept him DoT'd with Shadow Word: Pain and Devouring Plague. Then I just kept my Power Word: Shield up and ran in a circle around the platform out of his LoS. It took a bit of time, but my DoTs slowly killed him and I took no... that's right NO ... damage during the whole fight. Ended with 100% health and 29% mana. Can I get a "Woot Woot!" for priests? LOL

Any class that can interrupt at this level wont have to much of a hard time, i just soloed as a warrior. interrupted when necessary in defensive stance and he went down pretty easily.

he's not so tough i just soloed him as a lvl 24 pally with terable stuff 723hp and 869mp! and i didn't need to heal one's I used seal of justice to stun and that helpe'd alot caus stun interuppted alot of his spellcasting so he's wery easy!he's doable and not so hard i think that a lvl 17 shaman,pally or priest can easely solo him as long as they check there health and heal!

He's in southern part of troll territory, up on the balcony of house. He's easy for paladins: just keep Judgement of Light and heal self by Holy Light and will be fine. But killing takes some time ( he got approximately 1,5 k hp ;P).

Just soloed as a 19 subtle rogue. Opened with ambush, sinistered as much as possible, and kicked when he started to cast lightning bolt. The Shrink debuff isn't so bad, so just let it get to ya.

And no, you can't run around the tower to get out of his LoS, because it just didn't work >.>
Plus, you can cast gouge however it doesn't incapacitate him.

Soloed it as a lvl 17 hunter. Perfect location for a hunter to solo him.
When you find him, make sure your pet has the agro, and try to keep your pet alive a bit with the Mend Pet ability (I had to use that ability 2 times, my pet died in the end though).
Then just try to interupt his spelcastings by walking behind the pillar and keep your Serpent Sting on.
When I deafeted him, I still had 1/2 of my health left.

Soloed it with 17 lvl paladin without any potions. I have not used any Hands. Just heal yourself while you have mana, then Bless of Wisdom to regain mana, Lay on hands, and again healing yourself. This all time Kel'gash must have a judgement on himself

Solod as 16 warlock, my gear was reasonable but it was too easy. I guess a 15 would get resisted too much and OOM, but I managed to keep the DOTs on him often enough to kill him before his chain lightning killed me. Just run circles, luring him into casting Lighting Bolt all the time and cancel it by LOS.

Thank you for the tip! My L17 Troll BM died once though, just as we were going to finish him off.
I had so-so greens on me, but nothing remarkable (mostly quest and drop-obtained). After killing my way to the tower and dispatching the two 'bodyguards' up there with Kel'gash, I had my pet go at him. Once aggro was pulled I set an Immolation Trap and chucked Very Sticky Glue on him (an item I obtained from an earlier quest @ Kalimdor). Stuck in one place, the cat just kept at it on him, while I jumped off and shot at him from below.

I find the following VERY useful to pulling this off:

A relatively high amount of mana;
Serpent sting at your highest rank;
Concussive shot to slow his movements for a bit, or if you can steal in a Wing Clip that's fine too;
Arcane shot for the DPS;
Mend Pet and First Aid should your pet lose significant HP.

My cat got back to me with about a little less than half of his HP on him left and shrunken, but otherwise, it was alright.

Solo'd as a level 16 hunter with a cat pet. Only time I died was when I overpulled mobs on the way to him.

Kill the mob near him, then put down an immolation trap near the center of the floor (beside the structure in the middle). Turn off your pet's growl autocast, put on the Mark, then fire a serpent sting. It's not very hard - he doesn't have too much hp for a 20 elite. Just have your pet attack him, but keep aggro yourself while kiting him around the center. His melee hurts a lot so don't let him get near. Make sure you stay near the inside, so when he casts lightning bolt (make sure you have cast bars on), get out of his line of sight. Using this strategy, I got hit by the bolt about 3 times, and had to use a health potion once.

Around 20% health I turned my cat's growl back on autocast and waited for him to grab threat, then I barraged him with arrows until he died.

As a blood elf hunter i soloed this. I made my pet (cat) take all the agro while i hit him with my arrows. My pet died, and he started to attack me with his spell. I just used arcane torrent and it stopped him and i was able to hit him and kill him.

This quest was really easy as a level 20 mage. just make sure you buff up (dampen magic too). All i did was start off with a fireball then use blizzard, i dont think frost nova freezes him, but using fireball and blizzard should get the job done, along with mana shield :)

Soloed as a 21 shadow priest, just keep the DoTs up all the time and run around the pilar and shield when he comes close. I actually lost something like only 100 hp doing it becoz his malee hits are really weak. Good luck!

soloed him at 18 didn't lose pet, though prolly only cuz I used Mend Pet while abilities where recharging. Found elites to be soloed easily if pure BM specced and if you have taken the time to tame a Ghostwolf RAvager for Bite rank 3 if not using said pet(I use a crazed Dragonhawk) works quite well pet had about 20 HP left but still survived when Kelgis dropped, only had +4 Sta and Spi buff from food. Pet had just under 600HP total and around 1220 armor due to spec and training

I used my stun early, and got a few licks, then I used arcane torr. By this time he was half, and I didn't even need to heal. He mini me'd me, but it was too late. I was ahead for life,, and using my heals.

Lucky I had a retardin, well she's blonde . . . so I'm inside the pad clearning it, and going up to crush this guy, and some rogue comes running down with Gash in tow and the chicken troll. Since I'm still clearing the room, the rogue stealths. I'm stuck with mob + gash, but I'd turned 20 and had consecration.

Apparently if the trolls get low on energy and run, they can semi no clip through the windows. I tried to get my toon to fit, but she just won't. And she's belf anorexic. So I go oh well, and keep fighting Gash, well the trolls bring back the catlord one, and I had to pot. I managed to kill him, but the fragging cat offed me. When I got back I couldn't lewt jack, so I went around killing stuffs, and when he respawned it was game on.

Tried this 2x as a lvl 18 lock and failed around 20%, on the 3rd try as soon as my voidwalker died I just kited him around the roof and kept DoT's up, pretty ez this way if you are able to kite

I just solo'd him as a 19 partially twinked rogue. It was better than i thought it was gonna be, due to previous posts. I did have a food buff, and took a pot when I got to 50% after he shrunk me..but I killed him right after. So a rogue can totally solo him, not sure what the issue was with the other guy.

I soloed his coords as follows:

Tried one run through the posts but died on incredibly longwinded ego-trip halfway down.

Tried again on my mage but got dotted by large number of self-serving and pointless posts, then feared.

Finally got on my pally, popped sheild and right clicked on the mob name.

Coords are 65.80. Probably already listed somewhere in this mess, But not soloable to find them IMHO.

Since no one else seems to have interest in telling the coords of his location, i guess i will.

He's to the far, far south of Zeb'Nowa, and on map you'd see it as "in the mountains".
He's located in a little half-hidden house, on the roof, at 65.79

He's a level 20 elite. I'd advise you to be AT LEAST level 18 before taking him on (if you plan to try solo) - also depending on your class. Be careful.
Try not to aggro him with others. There are 1-2 other guys on the roof with him.

Did it as a lvl 19 rogue. Was not very easy, was not very hard. Had good gear from LW alt. Had armor scroll, Stam scroll, Agi Scroll, and food stam buff. Popped evasion buff, and troll berserking on him. Used 1 pot. It can be done.

Solo'd him as a LVL 20 BM Hunter with a LVL 19 pet. Honestly I wasn't about to, but saw someone else that was a LVL 20 Hunter and decided that it was fairly easy. Just send pet in and then snipe from afar.

Beat him as a lvl 19 rogue. It's important to stun Kel'Gash before he casts magic (his spells either hurt pretty bad or "shrink" you so that you loose stamina and strength mid fight!) Have "Kick" or some other equivalent stun technique close at hand through out the fight. Also, you will definitely need a health potion at some point so grab one of those before hand.

Soloed him with a 22 Rogue - I've only been playing for a month and am not twinked in any way.

Stealthed up to him on the roof and ambushed him. Used kick a few times to interrupt spell casting. I had to use one lesser healing potion but that was it. Triggered evasion right when the battle started.

On my level 17 hunter (with 17 cat pet) i got him down to 1%-5% health and then i died. I laid down a fire trap (can't remember what they are called) and attacked. Pet died when Kel'gash was around 50% health.. I ran around (so he walked into the trap) and revived pet (i've got it talent-improved so the spell only take 4 sec and pet come back with 45% life).. I began to attack and i got aggro, pet couldn't take aggro so i had to use a healing potion.. I got him down to 1%-5% health, but then i died.

A level 17 with better gear than usual at that level, or a level 18+, should be able to solo this :) Good luck.

i Solo'd as a lvl 19 hunter markshad pet tank him when i pulled aggro i would run out of his line of sight so he wouldnt cast on me then pet would take aggro back no pots needed or buffs...

He's a lvl 20 Elite. My twinked up lvl 20 Rogue can't solo him, That must be some awsome Paly. Can he solo Luz and Knuckels as well!

17 Warlock, soloed. Sacrificed VW about halfway through the demon's health and then just kited elite around the platform, keeping up dots. He hit me a few times with melee but made sure to dodge the longer casts. He slows as his health gets lower so the job is easier.
