The pillows are in the same area as Overseer Maltorious. While I was picking them up 10+ mobs, Sleepy Dark Iron Workers, came and attacked me. Low health, just AoE and move on. Surprised me though.

The quest reward is a cloth chest

New in 3.3 as far as I know, not one i recall from other alt leveling.

I ran into this quest a few days ago, and I can confirm it is new. (Searing Gorge quests achievement had already been completed come Cataclysm) Is the quest a reference to something?

This quest was a fun addition. About 8-10 Sleepy Dark Iron Dwarves with 300-400 hp charged at me halfway through gathering pillows. A few minutes after I was done, I heard an emote from Chambermaid Pillaclencher https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=14636. She's tough, but killing her will get you a quest for a trinket that casts slowfall.

If you're wondering where the sleeping quarters are: Head towards Overseer Maltorius, but before you get to the ledge he stands on, turn right and head down that hallway. The sleeping bunks are in the walls on both sides. The pillows are white.

Just an FYI the coordinates of the right cave to go in is at 49,45. Keep going straight and head right before the ramp, and steal all the pillows from the bunks in the walls. If you kill the Sleepy Dark Iron Workers they do not drop anything.

Nah... running through middle of Searing Gorge with your backback stuffed with pillows isn't suspicious at all.

This quest was absolutely not doable for me as a 52 rogue. As soon as the chambermaid popped up I got killed in a sec. I abandoned it because the robe I would receive wasnt worth the trouble.

Should be noted she's 49 elite and does a nasty knockback. So clear first and put your back to the wall. Solo'd on 51 hunter, ran out of mana at one point from clearing the trash and engaging her, but otherwise no real problems.

Takes a good 5 minutes for the Chambermaid to spawn after you loot the first pillow, so be patient. When she spawns, she yells:

"Thieves! Scallywags! Rapscallions! Come face me gigantic pillas!"

Gigantic pillas? Pillaclencher? Gotta love the innuendo (although is anyone actually interested in chesty iron dwarves?), not to mention the free slowfall from the Landin' Pilla quest reward...

I can't help but think this quest is supposed to prepare us for Cataclysm: Multi-passenger flying mounts/vehicles will mean people dropping out of the sky when the main "pilot" disconnects or logs off in mid-flight, and this quest is meant to ensure everyone has access to a parachute.

Seeing this quest here but not in the game as well as the odd absence of comments from classic / vanilla days of thottbot and allakazam, I did some digging around. From my research online and on this site, this quest should not be here on the WoWHead Classic version as it did not exist during classic / vanilla days. The earliest I could find was that it was added towards the end of WotLK but likely with the Cata revamp. While the quest giver did apparently exist during classic / vanilla, she did not give out nor receive any quests from what I could find. This also applies to the other quest associated with this: Look at the Size of It!

On wowpedia they keep a record of when something is added or changed in the game. This quest is noted with: "Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): Added."

Also the reward here on wowhead is marked with "This item is not available to players."

So this quest wont be available for a long time...

Kill 'Em With Sleep Deprivation

Deep within the Slag Pit of the Cauldron, you will find the sleeping quarters of the Dark Iron dwarves.

Travel to the sleeping quarters and steal 20 Dark Iron Pillows. Return to Evonice Sootsmoker in the Searing Gorge when you have accomplished this task.

If we want to put a dent in the productivity of the Dark Iron forces working out of the Slag Pit, we have to hit them where it's going to hurt the most.

It's a little known fact but dwarves, particularly of the Dark Iron variety, need rest! Lots of rest!

Now I ask you; How can they sleep without pillows? Exactly, <name>, they can't. This is why you must weasel your way into the Slag Pit and steal their pillows.
