This quest is new in patch 3.2. The only way to get it, is to get the starting quest item Writ of Merit from an ingame mail from Timothy Jones.

Ok. I got this in the mail on my level 76 JC, I've only done 2 JC dailies so it might be random based on dailies you complete.

You do not have to be 80 to receive the writ or accept the quest it gives.

Much to my dismay another little gem on par with not getting the writ if you have lag has appeared. If you accept the quest and have to abandon it for any reason (needed space for 1 more rep quest myself) you are stuck with the item writ of merit insted of the correct writ that origionally gave the quest. and since the item is changed to the second writ, there is no way to accept it again withough GM assistance

I believe this is from getting 400+ on jewel crafting, as I reached that halmark a few days after the patch, and then logged off, next day, this beauty was in my mailbox.

I just recently leveled Jewelcrafting and I am currently at ~435. I logged on this morning and didn't receive this yet. Is there any specific criteria that must be completed before being eligible to receive this or is it yet another random number game?

I know this is a dumb question but did you train? To become a grand master JC? I didn't get mine in the mail until I got the Grand Master training.

And, no you don't have to be level 80 to get it. I got it at level 65.

Can this be done more than once? Or has anyone received another quest starter in the mail? I really do love getting 5 days of work for free :P

For some reason I have had 450 jc for a couple days, and picked up jc right after 3.2 but still haven't gotten this in the mail :( It has been quite some time and a free epic gem cut would be pretty awesome, but I am lvl 80 and had 450 jc for a while so I'm not sure how to get this. I did get mana bonked before 3.2 though :p

I just got another one of these in the mail today, but when I try to click on the writ of merit it says I have already completed this quest. If it's the same one that they sent out after patch 3.2, why did I just get another one?

i got my JC to 400 a long time ago and dident get the mail... now i got it to 450 today and still dont have the mail anyone know why ?
