Just begun this Quest a moment ago. It would appear that this quest is for 5 individual transmutes. As the first gem that I tried proc'd and gave me 4 King's Ambers, but the Quest tracker only logs your single transmute, attempt. (should have said that I'm a Transmute Master).

I did assume that you had to return with proof of your Transmutes but when I sold all of the Ambers at auction I still have credit.

Sorry if the above does not make much sense it's late and I've had little sleep. :)

Right I can confirm that you do not need to keep the gems that you make. They are not needed to be turned in to Linzy. So feel free to JC'm or stick them on the AH.

Confirmed, each time you transmutate a epic gem it gives you one transmutation credit, extra gems dont count.

Since a recent hotfix, the counter for this quest will also increase if you perform the transmute while in a raid.

Anyone have an idea on the level requirement for this quest? I have an alt Alchemist with 450 skill but he is not level 80. Thanks.

EDIT: I found the answer on another comment for the gem transmute. According to the commenter, the level req is 65 (lowest level able to obtain skill 450).

Long real time quest.

it takes 5 days to finish,
because you can transmute only 1 gem a day (20hour cooldown there).

Currently the required level here on Wowhead is level ?.

I was able to pick it up at level 76 and 450 Alchemy.

I am currently trying to pick up this quest, but am not showing that the quest is available for me. Infact, she has nothing to teach me. I am 450 in Alch and lvl 80. I am Transmute Master as well. Is there somthing that I need to do first to get this quest?

What is the easiest / cheapest way to make the 5 transmutes?

King's amber is the cheapest to do.
The blue gem required isn't so expensive, nor is the eternal life. And if you're a herbalist you generally have eternal lifes lying around.
The next cheapest one is Eye of Zul.

King's Amber sells for the most on my server out of these, but I gained like a 130% profit selling the Eye of Zuls

I know I could have made the cheapest transmute 5 times or the most valuable transmute 5 times, but I decided to make one of each to better serve the guild. This way I was fair to all the guildmates.

Here are the transmutes you have available for the quest:
Transmute: Majestic Zircon
Transmute: Eye of Zul
Transmute: Ametrine
Transmute: Dreadstone
Transmute: King's Amber

The cheapest way is to have a miner or a miner friend that way you can get all teh mats really cheap ...a jc or again a jc friend to prospect the ores.

Contrary to what the Blizzard quest tracker claims on completion of the transmutes, Linzy did not move to the Ironwall Dam in Icecrown and can still be found at her usual location inside the Agronomical Apothecary.

I am 450 lvl alchemy. I learned the trasmutation mastery skill, i have the mats (5 eternal fire and 5 scarlet ruby, but I cant make <transmute cardinal ruby>. I dont know what is need to learn the skill necessary done it. No active recipie, etc. Im a player in epicwow server. I hope u can tell me the steps to do that guest. Thank you.

Are the epic gem transmutes available in WOTLK Classic? Linzy Blackbolt offers me the Cardinal Ruby quest but does not offer me the recipes (Ametrine, Eye of Zul, Dreadstone etc). I am 450 Alchemy. Any other requirement?

Do you have to be Transmute mastery to pick this quest up? I am level 73 with maxed alchemy but elixer mastery and it shows up on my questie but she doesn't offer the quest?

Seems like this has NOTHING to do what Specialization you have picked.
This just became available to me when getting to 450 Alchemy skill.
Im Elixir master, and only LvL 68, so it has to do with Alchemy skill ONLY it seems.

Cardinal Ruby

Linzy Blackbolt in Dalaran wants you to successfully transmute 5 epic gems with your alchemy skill. Acceptable transmutes include Ametrine, Eye of Zul, Dreadstone, King's Amber, and Majestic Zircon.
