I was just wondering if there was any particular reason why people who are dismounted run around and attack the champions that people who are mounted have engaged? I don't see them doing any damage to the champions.. and if they are it's a ridiculously small amount. Do people get weapon skill ups or something? Because if they are just trying to help it's really more of an annoyance then anything =/

I thought you couldn't do dailies while in raid group, but I was able to complete this while in raid... is it a bug?

Probably the worst Daily Quest of World of Warcraft ever.

Enjoy your mount occasionally bugging out and you being out of range to do your abilities. The only way to fix this is removing your Argent Lance and replacing it for another non-lance weapon; not even the Leave Vehicle button will work.

Being the victim of a instant shield-breaker to charge in 1 GCD is fun too.

I don't really understand why it says +250 rep with Argent Crusade. I was getting rep with Knights of the Ebon Blade, but not the Argent Crusade. Can anyone tell me why?

If you have noticed that sometimes the fight will bug out and you lose even tho you have not left the area and were even beating the NPC. I think I have found the reason and remedy for this.

After winning a fight, wait untill the heal icon lights up even if you do not need a heal, this will meen you are firmly out of combat, if you engage another NPC for a fight before this 'out of combat' happens then it will still happen during the fight and bug out your efforts. Damned annoying to have 3 or 4 bug out in a row when you were slaughtering your opponent.

I found this particularly annoying when still working my way through the factions when I set myself the goal of winning all 7 matches (4 champions and 3 Valliants) without a heal. This bug meant I failed in my goal as it is pretty tight but possible. I now cannot try this again as I am champion of all factions and the lower quest becomes of course unavailable.

Edit. It would appear that this bug can happen even when adhering to what I have said in this post. I had it happen today when I was 100% sure I got the out of combat and healed before I engaged another champ. Definately not as often as it used to but still present so I am, at the moment, stumped as to why this happens.

If you have any problems with this quest, you can try following strategy. If you do everything correctly, your mount shouldn't lose more than 5-10% hp.

Fully stack Defend before the fight begins
Start the fight by talking to NPC
Use Shield-Breaker twice
Use Charge
Use Thrust everytime it's ready
Use Defend everytime it's ready (well, maybe not everytime, but make sure you have 3x Defend)
When enemy gets one layer of Defend, strafe away and use Charge
Repeat steps 5-7

When you talk to the NPC, try to stand behind and strafe little bit away from the ring when the combat starts, this should give you enough range for first Shield-Breaker. You have to keep range until you completly remove opponent's Defend, after that, you want to stay in his melee range so he cannot use Charge nor Shield-Breaker.

Keep in mind, that Thrust does NOT trigger GCD, so you can use it with Defend at the same time.

Strategy that works: Final conclusion
1. Shields green
2. Speak to the NPC you are going to challenge while standing next to him/her.
3. As they move out into the center of the ring, charge them right off from where they used to stand.
4. Melee until the attacker moves away.
5. Charge
6. Circle around and face the attacker... Quickly throw shield breaker.
7. Melee
8. Repeat (4 - 7)
9. If the NPC gets a charge or a shield breaker in on you, return your shields to green while melee'ing. As during charge/shield breaker your shield will be briefly on cooldown. As melee'ing doesn't share the cooldown with shields.

Lastly, it takes practice. Don't get discouraged. Once you learn, and memorize the buttons/stradegy it becomes mundane!

Charge removes a single shield charge up.
Shield breaker removes a single charge up.
Obviously getting both is ideal. But not always possible.
Green shield on attacker melee hits for approximately 325
Yellow shield on attacker melee hits for approximately 1300
No shields on attacker melee hits for a proximately 3250

Each NPC is a little bit different. You will have to practice to find the proper range's to get in the shield breaker just after a charge.

For some reason I am not getting the mark of the champion when I beat the champion...Why?

This quest is much easy then most think,

also, i've foudn a better "strategy" then any of those posted above,

simply, make a macro with the following script:

/cast Thrust
/cast Shield-Breaker
/cast Charge

all those free dont share a GCD ( although they do with the defand, which is weird)

after making that macro, place it in a quickslot which isnt on your normal primary one ( the one being replaced) and keybind it. (comment -keybind only tested with Bartender's keybind)

so, the fight can be like that - raise up your defand to 3 shields, and engage in fight with someone,

now, just spam the macro.
every time you charge turn around to your opanent, and keep spamming,

dont forget to refresh your defends, ofc.

if it doesnt work with this macro, jsut remember that you can spam hit 2+3 ( shield breaker + charge) when the opanent disengages, and when you're close enough jsut spam 1.

It would be wise to continue practicing your skills against the combatants waiting in the Ring of Champions. Equip your lance, go to the stables on the southern side of the grounds. then mount up on any mount you're permitted to use, and face the champions.
