I can't find these scrolls anywhere, Im standing at the base camp, and nothing is around, anyone else? Is this quest bugged?

After looking at the SS my camp looks way older, did i screw this up by order of quest chains?

I found these quest items with a bit of trouble :-)

The easy way is: locate the camp (the coords will help you there), then look at the screen-shots for the location of the notes.

Easy peasy.

I've had a bit of trouble with this as well, but I managed to find the 2 scrolls after looking up the coordinates here and flying around a bit.

Some tips:

The notes are NOT at the small, abandoned looking tent at the very bottom of the mountain. If you look, there's a small path, indicated with little torches, leading up into the mountain (displayed as a dot line on the map).

Follow the path straight up, you'll encounter some Dwarf patrols most likely so be careful. Ignore the small encampment to the right when your running up, and just go straight to the top. When you reach the top you'll run into 2 tents, and a campfire with 2 boxes around it, the first note is on the box closest to you (when coming from the path).

Grab it, and turn around, now with the path you used to get up infront of you, go left around the 2 tents and the big rock and you'll run into another tent. The second note is on the first box on the other side of the tent.

Hope this makes it a bit easier to find the quest items!

Note that getting these rings isn't as simple as the three quest chain indicated.

In order to GET the communicator in the first place (Moteha Windborn will replace it but only after you obtain it in the first place) -- you must complete a quest chain that starts at the Crash Site, coords above are correct.

Boktar Bloodfury will give you a short 5 quest chain:

First "The Missing Bronzebeard" followed by "The Nose Knows" and then "Sniffing out the Perpetrator." Upon return to the Crash Site, you are given "Speak Orcish, Man!" which leads to "Speaking with the Wind's Voice". This is a kill quest info at https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=12917 -- note that you can loot the relics for one of the other quests given at the Crash Site from the mobs who drop the "voices" (small items that look like motes of air) .

After the "voices" are turned in, you start a new quest chain, beginning with "Catching up with Brann" which then leads to "Pieces of the Puzzle", "Data Mining" "The Library Console" and finally, the last quest in this chain, "Norgannon's Shell".

Completion of "Norgannon's Shell" opens up the quest you probably came out here for in the first place, the one on this page: "Going after the Core" -- which has two follow ups, and then the nice blue ring, or rather choice of four blue rings, one of which should probably be a decent upgrade if you did this prior to level 80 and heroic runs or raiding.

Total of 13 quests to get the ring, along with any side quests that you do at the same time. Total time investment is approximately 1 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on class, level, drops, and whether or not you are soloing. Longer if you do the other quests at the same time, less time if you just pound it out, get lucky with drops (the "voices" dropped for me one every three or four kills, not one every other kill as someone else noted) or do it with a friend.

I thought I'd list and the quests and explain some of it because there is no indication of two quest chains prior to being able to start the one on this page --- Usually there is a note indicating any prerequisites and I always appreciate the information when it is provided. :)

Good luck. The quest rewards are rather nice and the ring is decent for starting heroics at level 80. I did the quests with a friend - we had no problems, hunter/shaman, both of us level 79. Some decent green quest rewards for selling or DE'ing, drops, and a nice chunk of exp in this zone (or gold if you're 80) make it worth doing.

Kind of cheap, but a flight-form druid can loot these from the air. The mobs are all melee, so you're in-and-out.

This quest seems to be bugged. I can see the quest items but they are not sparkling nor do they allow me to pick them up. Logged out and back in to try again and still no luck.

Will drop quest and get it again to see if it fixes the problem.

Krohna's note-59.8 52.6...next to a little tent, southeast of the bonfire

Soren's note-59.2 51.5...right next to the bonfire, shown in the screenshot

With Norgannon's Shell in hand, only half of the archive key remains to be found. Luckily, I've had the Explorers' League hard at work chasing down leads about the whereabouts of Norgannon's Core.

Far to the southeast of the Inventor's Library, on the slopes to the north of Dun Niffelem, is a camp bearing my name. The Explorers' League representatives seeking the second half of the key are based there. Bring me the maps and the notes they've made and we should be able to track down the other key half.
