When you walk through Ogrimmar, on your way to Thrall, you will be unfriendly with all the NPCs. When you pass them, they will say things to you like "Monster!" and "I lost my family to the Scourge!". They will also throw rotten food and spit at you. You gain 6000 Ogrimmar rep when you turn in this quest with Thrall.

A very interesting quest.

More aimly, here are all the quotations said by the Orgrimmar citizens and guards:

They trow to you rotten apples and rotten bananas, and also spit on you.

Thrall also disclaims a little speech when you end this quest:

Thrall yells: Horde, hear the call of you Warchief!
Thrall yells: Today marks the firsts of many defeats for the scourge! Death Knights, once in the service of the Lich King, have broken free of his grasp and formed a new alliance against his tyranny!
Thrall yells: You will welcome these former heroes of the Horde and treat them with the respect that you would give to any to any ally of Orgrimmar!
Thrall yells: For the Horde!

And to finish with the hilarous part this quest, when you aggro Gamon, he yells :

SCOURGE! Stand back! Gamon will save us all!

When you turned in the quest to thrall and you have to go to outlands, simpel use your https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=50977 and talk to the fp there :) then you can fly all the way to stonard.

While I'm not ruling out the possibility that it was just a glitch, I was able to summon my mount and ride through the city to Thrall after the most recent patch, so the silencing effect may have been removed.

If you mount before you go in Orgrimmar you can ride till you come Grommash Hold (the place Thrall is).

Make sure Thrall is alive and well before making a DK. A raid group just killed him so now I gotta wait until he respawns to turn in the quest and get rollin again.

Fastest way from Orgrimmar to Outlands after completing this quest seems to be to go into the Valley of Spirits in Org, go near the portal trainer Thuul and take the portal to Blasted Lands.

Sorry if this is not retaled to this topic..but some guy came to crossroads and gave us some buff named Warchiefs blessing....really powerfull buff for lvl 20

If Varian or Thrall are dead, go do some other quests and come back in a few hours. NPCs in other cities of your faction (other than Stormwind/Orgrimmar) will still be friendly to you. Theoretically you can even turn in this quest at level 80. The only major disadvantage is that you cannot reset your talents until this quest is done.

So if your faction leader is dead, don't fret and don't just stand stand around waiting impatiently. Just go level in Outland for a few hours until he respawns.

In case your new to being Horde your looking for Valley Of Wisdom=40.3,36.9 and then Thrall=31.6,37.8.

I'm level 80 and have not turned this quest in. They still throw things at me in Org. Here are the consequences:

1. You can't use the mailboxes, bank, AH, FP, in Org, or talk to any npc's that hate you.
2. You are silenced not just in Org, but in the whole of Durotar, so if you're in Org, you have to go elsewhere (quite a ways) if you need to cast Death Gate.
3. You're liked in every town but Org.
4. You have to fight your way to the runeforge, but that becomes easy very quickly. Don't aggro Patchwerk. DUH

Other than that, it's no big deal. I don't need to go to Org more than once every 30 minutes, normally, so I can just hearth to Dal and go wherever I want.

I've gotten a few lulz from it :)

Edit: If you reach 80 and need to level a weapon skill (like 2h maces for Titansteel Destroyer), the lev 57-60 elites at Acherus (assuming you haven't turned in this quest) are handy for that. They can barely even hit you. You can auto attack and just walk away for a few minutes, come back, and be close to 300. The Val'kyr have close to 30k hp, so it's easy to beat on them for a while without taking much damage, if any.

Also, put yourself in Frost Presence to prolong the agony for each mob. You'll get more hits in per mob and take even less damage.

I went to do this quest on my Death Knight today, and found an extremely amusing catch...

During Winter's Veil, you can walk into Orgrimmar on this quest and pick up your presents - I was able to shoot my pellet rifle at Orgrimmar NPCs, and my Mechanical Greench even defended me during these encounters.

Guards usually came and smacked me once for about 400-500, but then reset to their fruit throwing stage. I spent a few minutes pulling the Flight Master and the Auctioneers before I got bored and decided to finish the quest :P

to kill time you should go to these portals they will send you straight to the dark portal
Horde: Orgrimmar (Valley Of Spirts) look for a hut that`s double storied and then go to
the top and you should find a portal

Alliance: Stormwind (The Mage Quarter) Look for a tower then follow it when you reach the top you should see
a portal to the dark portal

Pretty funny. You get spit on and have stuff thrown at you by the guards. Of course after speaking with Thrall you are no longer silenced and become honored with Orgrimmar.
