With all of the Norse mythology floating around in this expansion I couldn't help notice that this quest may have been inspired by the finding of the Brísingamen ( a jeweled necklace ) that was broken and lost; then returned to the goddess Freya - whose avatar just happens to be a quest giver in the Sholazar Basin. That necklace is really important in Norse mythology. Could just be a coincidence, but I don't think so.

Today I found something really odd: I was doing zul'drak quests for money when the damaged necklace dropped. I accepted the quest and soon after I looted the Scourge curio (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=42108) though I wasn't on the JC daily quest.
I flew to Dalaran, thinking that maybe jewelcrafters can loot the daily JC item before taking the quest or something, but it appeared that the JC daily was actually about revenants.
Confused by this I wanted to test it and I abandoned and re-took the necklace quest and deleted the curio, and it turned out that while I am on the damaged necklace quest, I can also find the curio for whatever reason. I went to turn in the necklace quest and the curio disappeared, too O_o

If somebody knows whether I've missed something please do fill me in :P

Fair warning - Do not abandon this quest!

I accidently abandoned it and *poof* no more necklace, damaged or otherwise. Blizzard said they would not replace it.

Please note the first iteration of this quest not contribute as a completed quest. Although I fully expected additional turn-ins wouldn't count, I was mildly surprised that initial completion did not contribute to the total quest count.

I think that's largely because they didnt go through every quest in old world - probably why they never gave specific zone by zone quest achievements there. They just took the number of quests on each continent most people will do (its 700 or so) to make the loremaster achieves.

Also, knowing Cataclysm was in the works, they probably figured it's going to get done over within a few years anyway, no sense doing the work twice, I wouldnt be surprised if they added zone by zone quest achievements.

Sell it....
Acording to my Auctioneer it can bring in as much as 3-400 Gold (though i dont belive it, but will return on that).
All you get from completing tha Quest is 1 --> ONE lousy JC Token and some pettycash.
You get 1 JC Token from compleeting Daily JC-Quests and they are extreeme easy. You spend more time transporting than doing the quest.

just got 750g for this bad boy didnt think it would sell the only other one was 800 so i said meh why not and it sold in 3 hours. not to shabby!

Did this quest today on my JC, was questing in Storm Peaks when the damaged necklace dropped off a Stormforged Magus. The damaged necklace requires a single chalondony to complete and this quest doesn't count against your JC daily, so its basically a extra token which is cool. I dont know if it drops off the other dwarves in the area, but it dropped off the first Stormforged Magus i killed.. didn't know this quest existed until it dropped also the necklace said (375) JC, so i guess it requires at least that much to do it.

The necklace is not BoP so their sellable on the AH (really expensive on my server though) and SEEM to drop randomly off any mob in stormpeak, just had one drop off a Forefather while doing the quest Blowing Hodir's Horn
