one of the dumbest quests I have ever done, and it makes no sense at all when you start it.

Melee'ing the mobs can grant credit, even if you do it with yourself and not the vehicle. However, it doesn't work most of the time and is a terrible way of doing it.

The Snowball ability seems to not light up until you're actually targeting a Revenants. Pick up the snowdrift, chuck it, pick up another, etc. Confusing at first, but very easy.

I had trouble selecting the revenants. Simply typing "/tar seeth" will select a seething revenant for you to kill; this makes the quest much easier, in my opinion.

Snorri is the 80 elite next to the king. You mount him and walk to a snow bump, pick it up, tab until you get a seething remnant, then throw the snowball. There is never a reason to stop moving on this quest since all abilities are instant-cast, including waking Snorri up when he falls asleep.

VERY IMPORTANT READ FIRST

There is a bug when you have mods installed, it screws up all vehicles and is a wide range of mods that cause it. You must log out, disable all mobs, and then try again... its really frustrating but I won't need to use vehicles in 400k xp anyway...

I spent more then 20 minutes & still not get it,why i can`t pick up a snowballs ? After i found in other comments "Mount Giant" - Snorri is a Giant,who stands next to Njormend.To get snowballs you must get on - Snorri !

Quest is bugged. Upon completion, I was stuck in combat. I waited 10 minutes and eventually had to kill myself to get out of combat.

Meleeing them can be much, much faster if you play a melee class. If you turn your camera so that Snorri's left shoulder is his closet body part to the Revenants, your character will begin autoattacking in addition to Snorri's attacks. As a rogue, I was able to very quickly tear down the Revenants.

i let snorri die and then could not see the quest giver or the snorri dude anymore. i had to leave the area and fly back in again for them to respawn. wierd.

In case you're slightly retarded like me you have to mount the giant standing right next to the quest giver. Took me a while to figure that one out.

The "Throw Snowball" ability will not work if you have regular old fashioned snowballs in your inventory, which are given in the bag that you get from previous quests in the zone. Delete the old snowballs and when "Gather Snow" it will activate the "Throw Snowball" ability.

Get into Snorri and control him. He is standing right next to the quest giver. /target snorri

Use his ability #1 next to a mound on the ground. (if you press #1 a second time you drop it)

Go to the burning anvil to the NE 77, 63

Tab to find your foe

Use Ability #2 to get credit

Find another mound of snow and repeat.

Tip: there are mound on the sides of the hills you can also use.

When I do this quest I gather the snow and have to keep doing it until the second tooltip finally lights up. Otherwise, when I try to throw the snowballs it says "You can't do that yet". This would take years if I have to keep gathering the snow over and over and then finally get a chance to cast. Something very wrong with this quest.

Njormeld despawns and you can't see him while you're in (on?) Snorri.

To turn in the quest, dismount from Snorri when it's complete and Njormeld will reappear for you.

This quest is highly annoying, u spend way too much time grabbing snow only for a snowball to not appear then suddenly you can throw the next 3 then you can't again for 5 minutes. Somethings bugged with it.

I was able to pick up the snobwalls and throw them at the fire elementals, killing them in the process, but I never get credited for the kill.

This quest seemed a bit confusing to me at first since a lot of the WotLK quests can over complicate what should be a simple quest. Here's a simple way to complete this one:

1. after talking to Njormeld, look to his left to find Snorri and mount up.
2. Walk around to the little mounds of snow or "snow drifts" and use the "1" hotkey to pick up snow. The cooldown timer on your vehicle bar is your indicator of how much time you have to toss it before having to pick up another.
3. I recommend approaching the forge, while spamming your tab key to target the revenants.
4. as soon as you target one, start spamming the 2 key. One shot is all it takes.
5. go back, grab another snowball from snowdrift, rinse and repeat until you kill ten revenants.
6. Return to Njormeld to turn in quest.

You must indeed join Snorri and use him as mount.
The camera is a bit confusing, because it's too low placed.
What is better; zoom max out or in? Zoom max in is better, it gives you free front view.

The quest is easy, just pick up snow and throw it. Done.
You may fight without Snorri, but the credit chance is very bad.

Wow... If you're having trouble like I was picking up the snow, I finally found a solution. Instead of pressing "1" to gather the snow, stand still and click the ability. -_-

1- Dismiss your mount, mount up to snorri
2- Go near white snowdrifts around and use first ability to get them 1 by 1
3- After taking one of them use 2nd ability on Seething Revenants around 76.62
4 -When you complete 10 ,dismount again and wait for Njormeld to spawn.
5- Fjorn's Anvil Brought to Dun Niffelem 1/1
6- Turn back to 63.63 and complete Forging an Alliance

One of the most untested/rushed/buggiest quests in WotLK.

Picking up snow (button #1) is instant, not channeled for 15 seconds. It's the cooldown that's 15 seconds.

When you've picked up the snow you can throw it (button #2). Your target is the "Seething Revenants" at the burnt end (the southeast end) of the little canyon.

When you have filled your quota you are supposed to talk to Njormeld again. He should have moved to Dun Niffelem (63, 63) which is where you need to fly.

It happens that while I was doing this quest, I moseyed out of the phase boundaries and got bugged. Njormeld and Snorri were still standing there and wouldn't talk to me. Quite confusing till I went back to Dun Niffelem and found Njormeld standing there next to the anvil.

Mount the Snorri next to the quest giver.75,63. Go to the snow lumps and press (1) to pick up snow for 15 sec, then target one elemental and press (2). Repeat this 9 times ( pressing (5) when he falls asleep ). Dissmount by pressing the big red arrow in the command box.

He can throw a snowball a long way, but it takes a little while to get there. If you throw it and then try to walk away to find another snow drift, you may not get credit for the kill. You must stay in range of the throw (dot must stay white and not be red). FYI

When you get this quest, go to Fjorn's Anvil (coords 75.5 63.6). Pick up the quest from Njormeld (Battling the Elements). Look for a storm giant named "Snorri". He spawns about 30 yds away from Njormeld. If Snorri is not there, WAIT. He will respawn (he despawns when someone jumps on him). Right click on him to jump on him and spawn the vehicle UI.

Do NOT kill the fire elementals without being on Snorri, you will NOT get credit. The credit is not sharable either, do it solo. You can kill the fire elementals with the snowballs after picking up a snowdrift, or you can just right click and melee an elemental to death while on Snorri and you will get credit.

When you complete Battling the Elementals, Forging the Alliance should complete and you can turn it in at 63.3 63.2.

It says that this quest rewards 5 Emblems, but I just did it at level 80 in classic and was rewarded nothing at all?

This quest is NOT supposed to award Emblems of Heroism.

I've just got through with checking the character records at the time of your completion of the quest Battling the Elements.

Unfortunately, this is one that's not actually a bug. The quest had the Emblems of Heroism removed as a reward some time back, but it appears some fan sites haven't updated that information. It was not intended for this to be a reward at the time your quest was completed.

Snorri was once the pride of our nation. A mighty warrior, many an enemy fell to his club.

We honor him, though he's no longer what he once was. Age has taken its toll, dulling his senses and sapping his strength. Still, he remains as proud as ever, never missing an opportunity to join a battle.

Speaking of battle, we're cooling Fjorn's anvil so it can be taken home. The remaining fire revenants are putting up some resistance. Help Snorri relive his glory days, <race>. Guide him against this enemy.
